Whos still listening to this masterpiece in 2024?
Me, I feel like I'm with my dad. 😊
Am it's what gives me company being far away from our motherland
Good music for all times ❤❤
I'm here
Me
I remember like yesterday about 35 years ago; I learnt to sing the whole of this song despite a foreign language ; in 1989 when I was in A level, in Kilimanjaro Dom, I heard the death of Franco through the neighborhood dinning Hall radio. The way I cried like a small child!!!!. This music was then played in all radio channels like a national Anthem for a whole week. Every time I listen to this song Kimpa Kisanga Meni I get a different taste. I have never gotten enough of Franco's music. We should be forming a Global Franco Association.
Rest in peace dad I liked the sony
Just recently lost my father and listening to Franco makes me feel reconnected. he was a great fan of Franco. people would ask me that you look young to listen to such. For me it's my connection with my dad through such great people like Franco. Long live my father's best music and i will always love him and Franco keeps the fire and love within me! Christmas time in Zambia was mostly punctuated by Franco songs for those of us who grew up in Lusaka, Kabwata -Zambia
Kenyans do enjoy this music more than any other nations.
Because many like me and maybe you believe he was a luhya
Franco is undoubtedly one of, if not the best rhumba musician of all time. Growing up in Zambia 🇿🇲 I still remember my father enjoying his music 🎶
I'm Nigerian, but I vibe with Congolese Music.
2024 na mimi ni kijana .. this is on another level
They call me old fashioned listening to these songs at my age what they don't know I dont listening for fan but memories

God's gift to Africa in Franco's indomitable songs, the greatest og all in Africa.
I finally found this song after listening to it in the 90's. God is great and MAY FRANCO rest in paradise
Chanté à langue maternelle , une légende jamais égalé
That basss guitar... ❤❤❤❤
Can't have enough of it. Thick and heavy.
Can't get enough of this masterpiece
It was on one evening in October 1989, that I heard on radio that this great singer died in Brussels, Belgium. I remember, I din't sleep that night, I was so sad. I knew Luambo since I was a child in mid 70s. One of my greatest hero in music, RIP Doctor (in music) Francois Luambo Luanzo Makiadi. Your music will never fade away, never....
How did Francos village and the people of Zaire receive his death news if Africa and the rest of the world were shaken . Franco will continue to talk to us.
Much ❤❤❤❤❤ this music
I had the privilege of visiting his grave today
This is incredible. This is the reason why I love spending countless hours looking for exciting music... when you find something like this it's so worth it! 🇦🇷 ❤

Same case here. My late Dad loved it so much. May their souls continue resting in eternal peace.
I thank God for my Dad who loved Franco so much that we felt like we were being forced to listen to his old music, now I know what music was, can never get enough💕💕💕
Am a victim too. I now know what music is

Muuga. This was the song ya sato pale shambani
@@wow_ship Muuga, very fond memories
The bass in this track, and Franco's 'wailing' guitar in the background endures to this day. Franco's 'wailing' lead guitar would be called 'guitar inapiga nduru' I give it up for the bassist, Franco's lead guitar, and the percussionist. That was a powerful collaboration. I wish there was a video of them recording this in the studio.
😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
This is one of the gold olden music that reminds me of my Daddy.

You are just like me. My late mum with her love TP OK and her dance moves. Franco was a genius, bringing together all those men with different gifts in music and producing for years, for me, the best ever music from that part of the world.
@@stephenbakasambe7806I miss my old lady every day and whenever I do I just seat n listen to some of her favourite tracks

A very sweet and easy to play bassline
We are all gathered here to honour the legend that Franco is and cherish his music in which he lives on, over 3 decades later since his demise. (Takes me way back to when we had a single radio station, namely VOK and later KBC, here in Kenya).
Such a great Melody this song is like a therapeutic massage to the spirit, calling the soul to meditate and to be careful... powerful teachings chasing all the demons out...
You can say that again...
This guy. Wow! Goose bumps. A maestro.
Come On You Gooner!
@@ToxicAfricanKing This is how we do it. Once a Gunner always a Gooner ⚽️
How Mpudi Decca comes in with the bass guitar at 5:29 should be included among the wonders of the world. Pure magic, pure therappppy,
Sssssshhhhh, dont say ! " PURE" is the thing. I cant quantum the sweetness . Franco lived for G.

The rock of all times.... Viva Africa.....the Legend Lives on....
I am a Bemba by tribe from Zambia and we just have this connection with Congo. I was introduced to Rhumba music by Mum who could speak Swahili, Tchiluba and Lingala. I have over a hundred rhumba songs in my cabinet!
My childhood, thank you dad for raising me with this wonderful music.
Thank you and your dad for feeling what am feeling
I grew up listening to this as well. Sadly my dad is late now.
My Dad too loved this music. MHSRIP 🙏
Ooh... what else can we say.....African warriors have made their point in such a special way.......the hamorny of the voices leave me speehlesss
The bassist all the way oh my word - the drummer had his influences too, simply put the hallmark of the entire composition is so soul soothing. And this is 2024! ❤

Soaking in the master's work right here in South Sudan. Kikongo is such a language! Poignant.

It's so surprising that the music Sung many years ago is still so sweet and makes one agitating for more to date.
This is the track I listen to when am feeling down. Big up
Kimpa Kisangameni (1983)
Done in Franco’s native Kikongo, it starts with heavy Mpundi Decca bass guitar (like it was with Jackie in 1978) punctuated with a mournful husky voice of Franco. Kimpa Kisangameni means charms planted on the roof of a house and Franco is telling his mother to see the charms that enemies have brought to kill him. He says his brother Bavon Marie Marie (died in 1970 in a car crash) was killed by sorcerers.
Thanks for the explanation in short
Sorrowful
@@anthonymaina5688 the guitar at the background makes it real - how could it be face to face between Franco and his mother !

I don't understand the lyrics but I love this song. The guitar is so soothing to the soul. Love from Zimbabwe ❤️
Hi there. He is denouncing witchcraft practice in his mother's family. At this particular time, children were dying mysteriously one another in his mother's side of the family. So, he decided to fight this through song. The song is in KITANDU language. N.B. KITANDU is one of many variants of KIKONGO language. 🇨🇩🤝🇿🇼🙏

Real music, knocking the accidentals, rich bass guitar with somber mood, Franco's chant tells it all. Listening from Kisumu.
Memories! First heard this song in 1982 on my Dad's radio, I had just been sent home for fees! 😂😂😂. I loved it and still do
