Does not get any better than this.
Good music and I love the beat.
Listen to this beautiful music, all full of smiles and delight. Troy is playing better than any musician on the planet these days. This clip is the greatest thing that's ever been broadcast. I work at a Napa Valley winery and could ask the next 10,000 people "who is Troy MacGillivray?" and draw blanks. Tell the world, shout it out, pass it on, here is a musician for the ages who can get the world smiling and dancing. Troy the Effortless. Find these tunes on his Cd "Live at the Music Room." Rubio
Oh...take me back to Cape Breton. Someone. PLEASE! Love, love love.
I have had the pleasure of studying at a summer music school with this fine Cape Breton musician. He is also a very pleasant young man. Wish him all the best.
Such amazing musicianship - love this performance!
Troy is one of the very best maritimes fiddlers -- and indeed he is from the "mainland" of Nova Scotia land mass -- not Cape Breton island. But I suggest the best time and place to see him perform is to take your vacation during the Celtic Colours Festival on the Cape in October. I agree not enough of us here in the USA know about Troy! SMILE.
You had a most wonderful teacher ,,,your dad.!!!
i remember robbie burns night at a small pub on mull is
lots of food drink then music and dancing
an ancient old guy asked me dance
i lasted 20 minutes
the speed was too much for me
tho i could dance for hours to reggae music!!
it is a more laid back movement
ah memories
from new mexico usa
This is fantastic! Love the fiddling and dancing at the end. Reminds me so much of the sessions in Cape Breton. Love it...thanks for sharing.

It's John Morris Rankin's composition, Jack Daniels
I think Troy almost smiled at the end. Outstanding fiddler, but such a blank expression. I assume he's smiling on the inside.
Yeah, they used to make the same complaint about Heifitz ....
Does anyone know the title of the reel after Jean's reel?
I love Cape Breton music!
Anyone know the names of all the tunes? :)
what is the name of the last song they play. I want to learn it soo bad
Connor Schmidt it’s called Jack Daniels... it was written by one of the Rankin family members
Personally I find the accompaniment far too loud :(
Agree. Brilliant fiddler. Appalling lack of balance with the piano. Sack the sound engineer !
A bit too loud indeed...
That's the Antigonish way, mate. Give 'er some.
