I was there the day Andrea played Jerry Deveaux (on the spoons) to a standstill at the Doryman up in Cheticamp. By the end of the 10 minute set, I was simultaneously jumping for joy, on my feet with the rest of the gang, and shouting my approval. Unless you've been there, you have no idea what a privilege it is to hear this young virtuoso in her native element, carrying on the tradition of her Celtic family. LONG LIVE CAPE BRETON!!!

I love to watch Kinnon's Fiddling simply because of the way he holds his fiddle with the bow going up and down... to get that top string sometimes he'll twist the whole fiddle so he doesn't his his leg with the bow! love it! Ian MacDougall holds his fiddle similar but he points his almost up at the ceiling, high angle of attack! god bless the music makers!

So I'm not the only one who picked up on that. As a lefty myself, Kinnon's southpaw technique caught my eye.

It's the left handed fiddling I find fascinating to watch.
