A lot of comparisons have been made about Alcaraz and 18 year old Nadal. However, looking at these clips and his success, it is CLEAR that Nadal was miles above Alcaraz at the same age. He looks even faster than Alcaraz. Not hating on Carlos btw, I think he will be a legend in the future barring injuries.

  • @sammyt3514

Nadal's combination of otherworldly talent/achievements, charisma, humility and class will be very hard, if not impossible, to happen again. I was a Federer fan (still am, but Nadal comes first😀) until I saw Nadal play and, even more importantly, saw how he carried himself on court and in interviews/press conferences. He was a very intriguing combination of a fierce, supremely talented fighter on court and a self-effacing, soft-spoken and thoughtful guy off of it. Even with his limited english you could tell he was wise beyond his years and he never put a word wrong, which is exceedingly rare for a very young man like he was at the time. Over the years and as he collected accolades and trophies, he remained exactly the same with zero signs that any of his unprecedented success got to his head. This, more than anything else, is what's so unique about Nadal; a guy who some justifiably consider the best athlete in any sport, let alone tennis, yet who genuinely thinks of himself as 'normal' and, therefore, believes anyone else can do what he did! It was a privilege watching Nadal on and off the court over the years, and I do hope he'll find a way to deal with his foot injury so that we continue to watch him for more years still, fingers crossed.

Nadal 2006: Federer is the greatest in "Sportivity".
2007: My body is perfect, no. Physically speaking.
    2008: I feel like No 2, because I'm No 2.
2009: The guy was really nice. He said I love u and he kissed me. In English, but I understand that.
2010: Pascal no. He said out, and then I hit the ball. No, no, no, no...
Nadal 2011: Because today I didn't have enough good shots to destroy him.
Nadal 2012: Good morning, everybody!!! (after 5h 53m)
2013: Sometimes you win, sometime lose, that makes the sport very big.
    2014: Sorry Stan!!
2015: Everytime I serve, he's gonna do it?
2016: How much time for a bathroom break?
2017: Roger played super aggresive tennis from beginning.
2018: I played in Canada colours.
    2019: Pandejo is Argentinian.
2020: I am happy about 20, but I cant celebrate because we're in a very difficult situation, because of the pandemic.
2021: I wasn't me, no? She did that to me? Yeah, I think it was for me!!
    2022: Merci beaucoup!!!

The synonym for transcendence is Rafa. Just to be clear that transcendence is not in the category of superlatives. Transcendence is the dissolution of thought that attempts to describe. It is prior to and beyond every description.
Rafa is not superhuman. On the contrary, he is fully human - he fully embraces suffering, he fully breathes self-doubt, he fully respects each and every player, each and every human being across the planet, he fully respects every tennis 🎾 racquet if he's not smashed a single one, he fully loves Real Madrid, he fully respects Roger and Novak, he fully loves humanity.
Transcendence when lived is humility, humility, humility. Rafa!

In the good old days of Tennis from 2005-to 2018, there were players like Ferer (800 + matches), Tsonga(Davis cup winner and 2008 us open champion), Murray(former world no 1 and won 3 slams), Wawrinka(won 3 slams and only person to win french open apart from big 3), Martin Del Petro (bronze in 2012 and silver in 2016 Olympics) , Clinch (2014 US open champion) these were the guys who used to give run for there money to prime Nadal, Djokovic and Federer. Had the 3 greatest players of all time not played together in the same era as them these people deserved 2-3 slams easily. They say the player of quality is described against whom the player played. We say the big 3 are the greatest as they play against each other but we forget that there were people like Murray, Tsonga, Wawrinka, Clinch, and Petro who forced them to the limit in some of their matches.
