We motorcyclists have a skewed sense of common, if that in any way makes sense. And yours is just fine, in my opinion. We know what we love (maybe most) and that is riding! Beautiful new helmet, Saffy. Congratulations!

Suggestion:
Open your mouth when you put your helmet on or take it off.
This usually makes the head thinner from the jaw hinge down.
Clenching the jaw will make the muscles in the jaw stick out.
Try it off camera and in front of a mirror and see if it helps.
We always ride with ear plugs, this has helped my family and friends keep the earplugs in place, and keep from tearing our ears off.

I did the same when I crashed my caponord 1200 at last years adventure bike festival, loud smack as it hit the ground, no sign of damage but a hell of a headache. Thought best to change it for a new one, you never know the lining damage.
That's it! I've heard of companies who can test them, and my lid had cost £1000 or up o would have considered it, but for the sake of £200, I'll just swap it out

Should always buy a new skid lid every 5 years or so, they get bumped around when you are using them all the time. My current favourite is my Shoei gt air, it fits my fat head well.
I only owned my last one for 9 months 😅😅😅😅

I fitted a helmet mic and the bottom of the front vents blows air straight onto it 😂 fail. With the bottom vent closed it’s fine

I just received my new LS2 yesterday.. it is ALL fluoro yellow 'cause I wanted to be visible... turns out, I actually love the colour hehe..
May I ask a question about hair.... I have long hair too (not as long as yours but beyond shoulder...) How do you manage it and stop the helmet pulling and/or pulling it out!? I've started wearing a buff as a bandana.... but i imagine in summer it might be a wee bit hot!!! Thanxx !

Congrats! Any excuse to retire some old stuff and replace it with some fancy new stuff is a good one! Maybe I'll capsize a bit when I get the bike out in the spring, so I can also buy that new -helmet- _common sense knock deflector_ that I so badly -need- *want* ! Nothing serious like a big accident, just knock it slightly against the hedge or something. Cause I will need it when I drive to the shop to get a new fancier one 😁Good to see that you take your head serious! Drive safe!

Those colours are very funky, must say I don't change my helmet often enough, my shoei had a 5 year warranty so in my opinion if they warranty it 5 years then it must be ok for a bit longer. I am looking at a new one possibly Ruroc Atlas 4.0 but I'll wait and see what else catches my eye

I'm sorry Saffy, I have to completely disagree with your assessment of doing idiotic things. You weren't at all. You were exploring and having a great adventure. That's the entire purpose of your trip. Your helmet did it's job and protected your head. Now you get a bonus for doing what you loved doing. I don't see the down side at all. Saffy FTW !!

As long as it fits, it's comfortable, you'll wear it, and it has the proper ratings, the rest doesn't matter.
By the way, you can vinyl wrap a helmet. Grab a roll off Amazon and a hair dryer, have fun. 😀

Obviously there's no price on keeping safe. Had a few LS2 helmets but about 7 months ago switched to schuberth c4 Pro. and love it. But every biker I expect will have a recommendation 😁

I'm ready for a new lid next year. I considered the Schuberth, that was until I saw the rachet fastener, I much prefer the double D ring. Just a personal thing I suppose, great looking helmets though that appear very well made.

Great stuff ,the head is so important to protect. When I lived in florida I couldn't understand the amount of people riding around with no helmets.Absolute crazy and stupid. Especially if you have somebody at home that loves you,kids,mam,dad,wife,husband or partner not fair on them because 1 serious blow to the head and its all over or brain damage and somebody has to look after you for the rest of your life...
It baffles me that the USA doesn't make it a legal requirement

Very nice helmet. Some decent stuff from LS2 from what I've seen. Might be worth checking out should I need to replace all my stuff. At the moment I seem to be on RK Sports for clothing & Viper for helmets (because of the built-in Bluetooth) never intended to with the clothing, more than likely did it subconsciously since it's almost my name! 😄
Get that pin lock fitted, stop the misting up 👍🏻

I wonder if LS2 has a modular helmet without an internal drop down visor. Love my Shoei 1200 but want to try a modular without breaking the bank
I'm not sure 😅 I'm not a fan of modular helmets, I absolutely hate them
@@SaffySprocketit gets very hot in the summer where I live, might be nice to open up the helmet at stoplights, and in heavy traffic. But I may hate it also, I’m picky, wouldn’t ever have a helmet with a drop down visor.
I recently bought myself a Shoei. £500 but what a lovely crash helmet.

@@SaffySprocket it was more of a heads up to younger and new riders ,having lost many many friends and my son on bikes i think its a important and much overlooked safety point ,believe me when a policeman knocks at your door in the middle of the night life is never going back to normal ,,, ride safe everyone
