Real, I was also born in 2012 and my older sister was born in 2005, so I basically kinda grew up like her, since m very close to her and all. And like, I'm not even immature either, now it depends on what type of "maturity" they're talking about. If it's serious topics, then yes, I'm mature in that case. And if it's like, maturity as in, not being so 'childish', then well it depends on who I'm with. If I'm comfortable with the person (which is rare), then I might act childish from time to time, but really, sometimes age doesn't always matter in maturity and ppl just gotta accept the truth and deal with it :/
not blaming everyone who is 12 but it's because yall's generation has a bad rep. Plus once you get older you will realize that you weren't that old as a 12 year old, like I felt like I was being treated like a toddler when I was 12 but now i realize that 12 really isn't that old, you really are still a kid, and that's not an insult I wish I didn't have to deal with everything that comes with being older. I am 2008 and personally I don't I have friendships with 2010-2011 kids, they are 13 years old and I am 16, although it may not seem like it, but its a long time and maturity difference, I would definitely not say "I can't talk to you because I don't hang out with children" but I would move away
Guys just enjoy your young days seriously from the day you’re born until you’re 18 is the only time you’re gonna be considered a kid so live it up you have the rest of your life to be considered an adult which is roughly around 50 to 60 years so seriously enjoy your youth because as soon as you turn older, people are just gonna be expecting everything from you and well yes, a lot of good things happen when you’re an adult you also have a lot more responsibility so just enjoy the carefree days while it last. Take it day by day.
2004 born 20 years old here, I think its normal for us to see 13 years old as children who need supervision, I actually would suspect a person who doesnt see 13 years old as children :^
As a 2008 kid, I agree with the mom…imagine a 16(08) year old and a 13(11) year old dating, the maturity level is a whole lot different a few years can mean a lot when you aren’t an adult.
That wasn't the point for that one, they were saying that when their sibling was 12 years old, they were able to do more and do more dangerous stuff. Compared to them they are 13 years old and they can't just hang out with their friends, and that it wasn't even dangerous but the mother wouldn't let her because she wasn't "mature enough". But I agree with you the maturity level is a whole lot different when a 16-year-old is compared to a 13-year-old, because it does mean a lot when you aren't an adult but some kids do have a pretty high maturity level it depends on how the parents raised them. If you don't believe me look it up on Google anyway another point is that it depends on what the topic is, Because like it said in the video they were trying to go hang out with their friends It's not that big of a topic. Compared to their sibling going to the mall alone at 12 years old, see the tone and topic really matter in this situation I'm not saying that age is not important but the topic and tone are also important. But I'm not here to make anyone mad or upset, I just wanted to state the importance of it and yes I know it's not that big of a deal but I hope you have a wonderful day anyway. (No Hate
Where the h-ll does a 16 year old and a 13 year old dating come from like yeah that's wrong but how does that have anything to do with hanging out with your friends, as a 13 year old who is in secondary school that is perfectly fine like I would understand if it was like a 9-10 year old but that's fine for a 13 year old to hang out with their friends alone, I was doing so at 13 too
As a 2006 baby, I think it’s the fact I can consciously remember a time like 2011-2012 that younger kids don’t. Like I get thrown in for a loop every time I hear that a kid born in 2015 is gonna be 10 next year.

It's just realizing that people born in the 2010s are double digits in age now. Like omg time is flying and I don't like it. Kids born in 2015 are almost 10!!!!

I think it’s mainly because of the maturity difference. I’m a 2009 kid and a sophomore and I couldn’t see myself being friends with an 8th grader. Can’t really relate to them at all. It may be a 2 year difference but there’s a lot that happens in 2 years, especially when you’re a teenager and growing. When you reach a certain age you realize how young 10, 11, and 12 really is lol. I wouldn’t have thought of myself as that young when I was 11 but now that i’m older I realize that I was
Fr, I always ask the question, "Would you date a 12-year-old if you're 14?" and everyone is like, "No," but if it's a 30-year-old and a 32-year-old, they say yes. Which comes to show maturity comes with age and experience.
I don't think this ever happened to me but either way think of the age gap. They're 3 to 4 years older than you and rn you're 13, they're 16 and 17. That's a huge age gap for teenagers. Do you not realize how much you mature during these times? Overprotective parents are much better than neglectful parents. I nearly got kidnapped two times and barely managed to get away, plus most of my classmates vape. The last part isn't that bad compared to the first one but it's more of a cautionary tale, kids nowadays vape a lot. Too much infact. I'm talking as if I'm old asf but I'm 14 a.k.a a 2010 kid. You gotta understand these things and if you don't I can see why your parents don't trust you yet

THIS IS SO REAL 😭😭😭 at my table in Japanese class I sit with girls born in 2008, 2009, 2010 and they treat me like a Baby like y’all are literally a few years older than me,,? 😭😭😭
i mean 13 compared to even 3 or 4 years older is a big maturity gap, those are major developmental years and why many older kids dont want 2 hang out with kids born after 09 ! but i know its hard; its an age where you're too young for so much and too old for other things, so hard to find where you fit. but yea it might seem like people are just babying you when they think you are too young to hang out with, and the age difference might not seem like a lot, but it rlly is and often theyre just watching out for you bc they know what its like at that age. trust me i am grateful the older kids guided me back to kids my age now, even though it seemed stupid then
(btw tho the thing u said about ur sister going to the mall at 12 and u can't is def unfair cuz unfortunately it's like. rlly unsafe nowadays and so many kids can't go out now which sucks 😭)
As a minor who was born between the late 2000s and early 2010s, I’ve literally been told I’m too immature to have depression so can confirm some of us are treated like little iPad kids who can’t think for themselves. Sure, we’re young, we’re stupid, but please, at least treat us like humans.
I agree with this comment, it's never ok to treat someone differently because of a small difference. I'm pretty sure that saying has been repeated like a million times now.
i was born in 2006 so someone born in 2011 is a little too young for me, but i dont think being friends with someone 2-3 years older than you is bad. i've had friends born in 2004 and 2008
yeah its just 15-14 and 12-11 have a really big maturity gap and it's really hard to relate to each other, once your older than the 12 faze it's easier to relate in maturity etc
It's honestly so common for people to discriminate because of age right now (Teenagers), People need to understand that everyone matures differently and thus many do not fit into every stereotype that people make. Teenagers need to start caring more about personality more than age when making friends or at least being respectful. Also many of them ARE in the same age group but wont accept it because of the influence the internet has on age groups. For example how Gen Z tries to prove the point that Gen A is so much different than them by continuously using the same stereotypes to bully them even though many of them are only a year or two apart. The internet creates this illusion that everyone from one generation are all the same age, even though generations last 15 years.
Girl this happened with us too ya'll aren't the only ones. It can be annoying but also people can be friends with who they wanna be friends with, and when yall are still in middle school you need to understand that high schoolers want to be friends with people they can relate to in their life, interests, school etc.Teenagers also get slandered constantly by adults, yall shouldnt look forward to that, and online gen z tries to blame cringe stuff on gen alpha because we had no part in creating things like skibbidi toilet and we don't want more reasons for adults to call us immature, stupid, and annoying. I understand that it can hurt, but it happens to everyone, so don't just blame this stuff on us because this was the world we were born into
@@16th_NoteFail Notice how I said when making friends OR being RESPECTFUL. You don't have to bully a whole group of people just because you don't want adults to call you immature. By doing that you aren't helping anyone and are only making the problem worse by creating more controversy. Also gen A had no control over any of the "brain-rot" that was being created, all of those things were created by Gen Z or adults, and I don't know why you think I'm a child, I'm a teenager, I just don't like the fact that everyone is hating on each other because of generations.
As a 2011 girl, I can *totally* understand. Why do people always get so shocked when we say we're born in 2011... WE'RE LITERALLY 13 OR 12½ *SERIOUSLY* 😭😭😅😅
Partially because people born before 2010 have conscious memories of before you were born, for me I started my first year of school in 2011 and I can remember it, it's just us Gen z's in denial about how much time has passed and that we are getting older 😅
and a lot of us are more mature than people think, but even if they know once they find out how old we are they drop us as if that isn't gonna do us mental damage in the long run. it especially hurts to people like me, whom have niche interests that we can't find anywhere BUT online. getting kicked out of those fandom spaces leads us to spiral. thank you for coming to my ted talk. Yeah, 2011 here, it reaally makes so angry when people just assume if kids in the internet sre like that, then ALL of the kids in that generation are like that. It actually could be ine of the main parts of depression nowadays. Some (not all) gen z'ers took it way too far.
just trying to defend my generation, it's a part of being 12, happens to every generation, happened to us too, kinda sucks, but maturity levels are noticeably different with the real people I've met though.
I'm older than you (a minor still) and please just be a kid when you're still a minor 👍 You can worry about being mature and your place in society when you reach 18 i promise. Listen as a 2011 kid, it depends on how you grew up, I'll be the first one to tell you almost everyone I know who was born the same year as me are some of the most imature people ive ever seen. I've met six year olds more mature then them but at the same time some of us know how the world really is. I for example was in a really bad situation when I was young that forced me to mature fast and be exposed to the world at I young age. People I've met say I'm more mature then some adults they know and to put it frank at our age we aren't supposed tk be thay mature. Its how we grew up thag exposed us to the world to soon. We should be treated like kids because we still are. At the same time I think some freedoms shluld depend and tohr maturity rather then age plus environment. Thats just how it is, we are young, we are just 13 .

Real

Sincerely, a 2000s kid.
i mean 13 compared to even 3 or 4 years older is a big maturity gap, those are major developmental years and why many older kids dont want 2 hang out with kids born after 09 ! but i know its hard; its an age where you're too young for so much and too old for other things, so hard to find where you fit. but yea it might seem like people are just babying you when they think you are too young to hang out with, and the age difference might not seem like a lot, but it rlly is and often theyre just watching out for you bc they know what its like at that age. trust me i am grateful the older kids guided me back to kids my age now, even though it seemed stupid then
(btw tho the thing u said about ur sister going to the mall at 12 and u can't is def unfair cuz unfortunately it's like. rlly unsafe nowadays and so many kids can't go out now which sucks 😭)

As someone born in 2009, I can’t relate because I don’t even like going outside or want friends 😂
WE'RE LITERALLY 13 OR 12½
*SERIOUSLY* 😭😭😅😅
Partially because people born before 2010 have conscious memories of before you were born, for me I started my first year of school in 2011 and I can remember it, it's just us Gen z's in denial about how much time has passed and that we are getting older 😅
and a lot of us are more mature than people think, but even if they know once they find out how old we are they drop us as if that isn't gonna do us mental damage in the long run. it especially hurts to people like me, whom have niche interests that we can't find anywhere BUT online. getting kicked out of those fandom spaces leads us to spiral. thank you for coming to my ted talk. I'm gonna make this an actual comment btw 'cause this was actually a good analysis.

I'm older than you (a minor still) and please just be a kid when you're still a minor 👍
You can worry about being mature and your place in society when you reach 18 i promise. Focus on being friends with peopple that suit you, don't bother with prejudiced ones (they won't grow up to be open minded responsible adults anyway) and don't envy anyone if their parents are more permissive or something. It's not that amazing.
Still i hope your parents will come to trust you more with yourself soon ❤❤❤!
