Jonathan Banchetti The guitar is much, much tighter in the studio version. At least in that one he seems deliberately sketchy, this just sounds like he can't play his own material.

Alright...I love Zeppelin. LOVE it. Been digging it for 30+ years. One of my many regrets in life that I didn't take the opportunity to see them when I had the chance. Now I never will. AMAZING rock band. HOWEVER...Jimmy, for all his gifts and talents and showmanship and so forth...Dude liked to wank. That 3+ minute noodle show (2:22) doesn't really do much to cement his status as a legendary rock god. It sounded more like me when I was a drunk and stoned 17 year with my guitar in my bedroom.
You know, Zeppelin survived the 80s (I'm talking more about a flock of seagulls), and we're still listening to them today. Don't you think that the kids of this generation (and yes, there are some-I am one myself) will form some great hard rock bands like Zeppelin and their contemporaries in the next couple years? This is just what I'm thinking. All hope is not lost!
Saw them in Baton Rouge, May 77, was Song Remains the Same Tour. Was awesome..Had tix for Superdome July Show added to the Tour, but sadly, Plants son Karac died 3 days b-4 the NOLA Dome show. They sold 90K tix,at $10.25. Most still have them as the Baton Rouge Show was the last one. I was 17 then, 53 now. Swan Song Diver'

When I was a kid, all the tough guys in my neighbourhood were Led Zeppelin fanatics. Totally fanatical about Led Zeppelin. A few local Kiss fans were ridiculed and bashed every day, for their troubles. I'm a massive Led Zeppelin fan, but I don't assault people who don't love Led Zeppelin.

Page has terrible time in this one and Robert doesnt sound too well. You can see how their life style was already starting to push them downhill then.

I agree, I love Page, but his rhythm here is almost painful to listen to. JPJ's bass is always top notch though, so that makes up for it a bit.
