    .....and to think that this is over 50 years ago. All the artists that followed him owe Frankie a great debt of gratitude. He was exploited by the music establishment, as were so many others, and died a broken young man, He was, however, one of the all time great singers and a true trailblazer.

    Frankie Lymon as much talent he had.He had swoll head he believe what people told him.And he left the Teenagers out in the cold at the height of their career.Thinking that he could carry his career by himself which he fail using drugs made sure of that.At the end it was all for nothing Frankie went to a point of no return dead of a drug over dose at 25.Frankie live fast and die young.But his legacy with the teenagers will continue.

    This is from the 1957 Alan Freed flick "Mister Rock & Roll." The tune was made only for the movie and not released at the time on 45. I remember seeing this on the USA Network's dearly departed NIGHT FLIGHT show in the 1980s.

    @jazzylinn I know! I remember seeing them for the first time on a Time Life commercial just a year before the movie came out. I fell in love with them right then and there. When the movie came out, I was so excited to see it. I was wondering where they were and what they were doing. I cried like a baby when I saw the ending. I was so hurt.

      Leslie Scarver Like the Supremes Jackson 5 Commodores and All the groups Who Lead Singers left the Background in the Dust

    • @jimmywilde4768
      @jimmywilde4768 4 года назад +2

      @@samthesham5294 I think this had more to do with the guys just being fatigued. Frankie didn't "leave the background in the dust". He was pulled out of his band at the peak of their success. True, he was the lead but he was far from a "breakout star" at that point. Consequently, his solo career didn't really take off like everyone planned.
