I lived the Acid House scene back in the day. I feel truly blessed to have been there and experience this massive shift in youth culture!! It made me become a rebel for life and not to become a sheep in society!!
1993? Wow, that's astonishing to me that it would take so long for this to be featured and if it was a "retrospective" on Acid House, that also is odd because at that time, the Acid Sound (303's, minimal production, mostly UNDER 130 bpm-tempo, etc) was deeply uncool to most clubbers/dance-fans (not me, though! I loved that 303 sound from the first time onwards!). As someone who was around that scene at the time, I can tell you that by '89/'90, people were not using the term Acid House anymore, so the fact this report is from 1993 tickles me greatly, he he he!
If it's negative-noise to your ears, please make certain that you are listening continuously, otherwise you might find yourself with nothing to complain about. ;-) You are welcome!
R.I.P MTV =(

Not been anything groundbreaking since! Last true genre!
Mark Heath Gabber music came about around 91, I'd say it's pretty ground-breaking! although I haven't seen anything great come after the 21st century.
I love LoFi house feels old feels new! My favorite Genre

Oy, acid house didn't lead to techno, it was already there in Detroit and later Germany. Now acid *techno,* that's a different story.
