Family and friends remember victims of Manoa murder-suicide

- The investigation of an apparent murder-suicide continues after three children and their parents were found dead in their Manoa home. Dozens of students of all ages visited the home on Monday afternoon to drop off flowers and pay their respects to their friends and fellow classmates.

Knew the oldest. Went to elementary with her and then as i got older and got a job in manoa as a cashier i would often see her come in and i would ring her stuff up. Would always see her at 24hr fitness. I remember her Dad being me and my friends chaperone during an overnight retreat at the Polynesian Cultural Center back in elemntary school. He slept in the same room on a different bed. Last time i saw that family was a couple weeks ago taking a walk as i drove past them heading to the gym. Tomorrow is never promised. Rest in Love to the 4 victims
The 12 yr old was on my soccer team.He was always a funny man and made everyone laugh,remember them and say it over and over until we got bored of it..Our dear soccer player will be missed.

Society doesn't care about men's struggles. Thus the expression "women and children."

My thing is I was around entire family inside and outside and the connection they had along with looking happy doing their daily routine. I keep wracking my brain did I see anything that this could ever happen. Just no way. So sad still

To BUTCHER ones entire family because of "financial difficulty" or "lack of counselling" is superficial pop psychology. This was an EVIL, WICKED act on par with ANY serial killer, Jack the Ripper, or Son of Sam. His MAKE BELIEVE "family man" and "respectability" makes his BRUTALITY even more DARK.
I visited the Big Island about 16 years ago and I was shocked at the amount of poverty in Hilo. In 2024 with inflation raging it's hard to pay one's bills. People seem to be struggling. Long-term stress changes people even the nicest of people. Life is fragile ✝✝

The becoming effects of the unstable financial family status of Hawaii, who could it be next? Weren't the last one in Mililani? 19 years he struggled, then he couldn't do it anymore. This is not intended to glorify DR. PARIS ODA, he just perished on his terms and took everything with him. Respect their success more than their defeats! RIP, Oda Family of Hawaii!
