  • In June 1996, Engine manufacturer Pratt & Whitney provided an update on their newest engines, the PW4084 and PW4090. These are the P&W engine options that power the Boeing 777.

    I’d like to call this era of P&W the golden age. That engine was marvelous and the effort was great.

    Crazy that they still want to fly these 27 years later...sounds dangerous

      Well with all the recent Boeing problems they are gonna need them. Plus they are planning to use them up to 2040…

      With proper maintenance they can fly for at least 30 years

      I flew on one with united it was a nice smooth flight cross country from NY to LA
