I love the Marvel Cinematic films with Iron Man onwards and I loved Sam Raimi's Spider-Man trilogy and the X-Men films. However for me the greatest comic book films were Tim Burton's Batman films (1989, 1992) and Superman (1978) and Superman II (1981) and the greatest films have got to Christopher Nolan's Batman/Dark Knight trilogy (2005-2012). I know it's only Christopher Nolan's grounded version, but it made Batman so relatable and realistic. It's a great film.
+Captain Marvel Wilson Superman 1978 is still an undeniably iconic movie. If for nothing else than Cristopher Reeve as Superman, John Williams' score and how that movie paved the way for future superhero movies. Without it there wouldn't be a Batman 1989.
Agree completely, I grew up on the Reeve Superman's and loved the Tim Burton Batman's (and the original series which is still so funny!); and I was unsure about this when I heard they were doing a reboot again, but I was more than pleasantly taken aback by how good this and the Dark Knight was (the last one was a load of bollocks though imo). Haven't seen the latest Superman v Batman nonsense and all the other shite, apart from the X-Men stuff which can be hit or miss, but this may be pinnacle Batman anyway.
I would've never thought when I left the theater after seeing the movie in 2005 that this was just the beginning of one of the best trilogies this decade. Thanks Nolan!
Christian was going to, but he wasn't going to commit to another Batman role unless Nolan was directing it. Tbh, his version of Batman was my favorite.
first of all, to Mr. Bob Kane , thank you ever so much for creating Batman , to Mr. Christopher Nolan and everybody who was involved in the making of all 3 great films, all of you are magical thank you all !, you've brought Batman to life !
a true fan would know that bill finger was the actual guy who created batman. he gave all the good ideas while bob kane gave such a small portion of them.
it was maybe 15% Bob Kane and 85% Bill Finger, but Kane took all the credit, royalties and Finger got nothing. Remember Kane the scumbag and Finger the legend.
@Damian Howard Yes, but it was also Bill Finger, along with Jerry Robinson and Dick Sprang, who created everything that is considered iconic and essential to the Batman mythos: the cowl, the main character not having any powers, Robin, the Batmobile, Alfred, the Joker, Catwoman, the Penguin, the Scarecrow, Two-Face and so forth. Bob Kane was infamous for treating all of them like shit and never acknowledging nor the art nor their contributions to the character's universe, not even after two of them were long gone. Even in death he still wanted to be remembered as the one and only creator of Batman. Every time you see something about Batman that you like and/or it is great, that's Finger, Robinson, Sprang or the three of them combined, not Kane.
This particular part in the Movie is when Bruce Wayne begins his training. In my case is why I remember it the most. Christopher Nolan knew very well where to put the music at the right moment & dialogues. Salutes from Tijuana, Baja California, México
as for Christophe Nolan's joker Mr. Heath Ledger , may you rest in peace and we miss so. Mr. ledger, WOW!, you too as well have brought the Joker to life, many had thought Mr. Jack Nicholson had closed the book when he acted out to being the Joker oh but no way! you Mr. Ledger have shown the world how the Joker should be like, I'm sure that Mr. Ceased Romero(original Joker) is proud. Again Mr. Ledger we thank you miss and love you much
The start of the credits in Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, and The Dark Knight Rises begin with that very substantial and powerful impact in the beginning found in this song. I love that part , it's the perfect lead-in to the violently beautiful theme of Christopher Nolan's masterpieces.
When I was small and the trailer released (with that really emotional note that's played at 7:00), it gave me chills. And now, the effect has only amplified. #HailBatman
I agree. I loved this soundtrack when it came out because it was the first time in a long time that I really heard a "Batman" soundtrack that fully captured Bruce's transformation, as well as the whole spectrum of feelings that possess the man from brooding loneliness to sheer righteous rage channeled into furious action. It's a great music picture of the hero - and I'm sure it's the perfect thing to drive a player when bringing order back to the asylum, one cracked criminal skull at a time...
Batman Begins will always be the best out of the series for me, it just has the best story, and best general flow. We feel bruce's pain and understand him, and why he begins. The Dark Knight is amazing, the entire series is, don't get me wrong, but Joker is the only reason why it is rated so highly.
I think you're doing it a great disservice. Christopher Nolan deconstructs Batman perfectly. That old adage 'Batman only comes out at night. Commit crime during the day.' As he states so devastatingly. "You have nothing to do with all your power. Nothing to threaten me with." Because he knows Batman has rules. A moral code. The story of The Dark Knight is just how far someone is willing to go, joe much they are willing to compromise and sacrifice to serve a higher good. The Dark Knight deals with this on many subtle levels. Batman's taking the blame for the murder of Harvey Dent and taking the blame for his death and crimes. Jim Gordon going along with it. Alfred for destroying a letter that will stop Bruce from being devastated from choosing Harvey over him. Harvey almost succumbing to threatening to kill someone to save Rachel. "You either die a hero or you live long enough to see yourself become the villain."
Nicholas Dickens You're right, as an avid fan I used to love TDK the most, but then I found Batman Begins more motivational and generally a better Batman movie. Generally all of the Nolan trilogy is amazing, and has great philosophy. I think it does depend on what preference one has on a movie.
The last two lines of the movie, between Bruce and Gordon are so powerfully moving for me. I have to watch it with the lights off, so my family can't see dad crying.

Okay, so I've read the script, listened to the score; all that's left is to watch the movie. :3 This duo is amazing, and I really think they balance each other out perfectly, highlighting the different feels encomapssed by these films -- Zimmer, I think, brings the chaos, darkness, and anarchy, whilst Newton Howard gives us the more melodic, lyrical aspects. Their different compositional styles balance each other out in a gorgeous way.

@@MutantsInDisguise nice.
watched this movie in an IMAX dome cinema. Totally worth it. Went in and watched the next show.....only time in my life I did this.
4:50 - Love the key changes. Lovely.
It's 10 years late, but yes, that was eargasmic.
@@sirisaacclarke4964 Lol, glad you commented. Digging through the soundtrack to hunt the themes is a pain. I forgot I had commented.
@@techno_techie2923 so any idea what that part is called? Tried looking for it, but simply couldn't find.

Batman Begins is a very underrated film and beginning to one of if not greatest movie trilogy of all time.
4.40-5.40 amazing
and 6:00 too
4:40. 5:48, 6:56 ultra amazing.
Okay, so I've read the script, listened to the score; all that's left is to watch the movie. :3
This duo is amazing, and I really think they balance each other out perfectly, highlighting the different feels encomapssed by these films -- Zimmer, I think, brings the chaos, darkness, and anarchy, whilst Newton Howard gives us the more melodic, lyrical aspects. Their different compositional styles balance each other out in a gorgeous way.
