I remember after the Bruins lost Game 5, I was bummed out. It was a Friday night. That feeling lasted into Saturday. Then Sunday that feeling turned from being bummed out to being PISSED when Luongo ran his mouth about Tim Thomas. Then Monday night came and it was time to watch Game Six. I told my then-wife “You might wanna hold him a while, because I’m about to get boisterous!” And that was just sitting home warming the NBC Sports broadcast. The first ten minutes had me going absolutely BONKERS! Once Marchand scored in Game Six, it was that moment that I had NO DOUBT that the Bruins were going to win the Stanley Cup. My son was two months old around that time. He’ll be 13 this spring. Time flies.
And you’re not alone at being pissed off at the Canucks before game 6 my friend. Many of the Bruins players reported that they caught Canucks players practicing their celebration before game 6 right on the Bruins’ ice. They were incredibly pissed off by this and that motivated them to not allow the Canucks to win on their ice. So yah the Canucks basically got cocky at the worst time and dug their own graves.
Great job by us Bruins fans, but the fans of all the Canadian (ien in respect for Montréal) have us beat in singing the anthems. Come on Bruins fans, we have to start singing at least our anthem, LOUD & PROUD!
