Hollow Knight is an ode to solitude, a perfect journey for the lonely souls. My love for it exploded in mid 2020 when I was working in retail in the middle of the pandemic. What a relief this game became. I'll be forever thankful to its soundtrack to soothe my soul in a world of darkness.
What a great way to describe it! I remember pouring hour after hour into this game in the summer of 2019, and the music just brings me back into the gorgeous world
I started the game in 2020 too, it helped me feel so much better about everything that was going on and gave me my own little adventure even though I was actually stuck in my house.
Hollow Knight carried me through the pandemic. I got it in one of those Covid relief bundles in March 2020 and the music played a big part in me sticking with it even though it was really challenging me as a player.
Nothing...hits quite like Hollow Knight. It is such a desolate game, but within that desolation is something beautiful. The music is so lonely, but never depressing. The sound of rain goes so well with it.

Ik, i feel that every time when i play hollow knight. It feels like, like a warm breeze of air is swishing, and swaying. Its just so peacful and calming.
You can just imagine hearing the sound effects of all the enemies while listening to this. In the mosspath, I hear the squeaking cries and rustling of the little bush creatures, in the fungal wastes I can hear the squishy floating of those little balloon bugs, in the city of tears I can hear the footsteps and grunting of the mad citizens. What a great game with great sound design.
The sound effects in Deep nest alone give the area such a terrifying and disturbing atmosphere. And this ain't even a horror game, to begin with. Hollow Knight truly is god-sent judging from its price and content. As a video game nerd, I feel fortunate to have played this masterpiece.
I almost want to cry every time I hear this soundtrack. Every time I hear "reflection" or "city of tears" I remember those experiences for the first time. Seeing the distant almost abandoned city makes everything seem calm. City of tears was a sort of turning point in my hollow knight playthrough. I'll never forget how I felt the first time I sat near that window and just listened for 30 minutes. It gave me chills down my spine in a good way. I love hollow knight.
hollow knight music is so calm and peaceful when your not constantly dieing this game can be pretty hard but its super fun i would recommend it if you havnt played it yet
i saw it on xbox in the game pass one time and decided to download it because i heard before that the game was great. i enjoyed it but i also didnt get too far, i just kept dying. tbf i normally dont really play games like that so im not the best at them
I'm not kidding that this game completely changed my life. I've been in front of computers playing all sorts of RPGs and platformers for the past 22 years, and no other game has captivated me this way. I'm not sure if this is the same for anyone else, but this game REALLY sticks to you if you grew up as a lonely kid. I have put more hours into this game than all the AAA games (Cyberpunk 2077, The Witcher 3, Red Dead Redemption 2) I've played combined. If Silksong still comes out, it will bring so much joy to me and the rest of the community. I doubt the developers will ever see this, but if by some off chance they do, please know that you have brought this seemingly absent sense of wonder that many games are lacking with this masterpiece.

Hollow Knight, an absolutely wonderful game. The artwork is beautiful, it has tons of secrets and little details, and the battling is fun too, although it can get hard, so you have to stay patient. It’s super duper fun, I’d recommend playing it if you can
this game..its something so special..i have never had the feeling of curiosity, sadness, and just sheer fun in any other game. ever. the feeling of finding something new, or uncovering a new secret is something that i will never be able to truly feel as much as i did with this game. truly a masterpiece.
If you loved the exploration you should play breath of the wild. It ended up being my favorite game because of the feeling of exploration and discovery it gives.
You know the music makes this game. On top of the visual art style. The music is so entertaining and engaging. Lonely and melancholy but, peaceful. Nothing bad about being alone.
I love the choice of what sounds like rain hitting asphalt or cobblestone. It's so fitting, you could've just used any rain sound effect but you chose one that fits so well.
Perhaps the best Metroid-vania game ever made. Desolate, dark, but also extremely beautiful with such an unique artstyle. And both the level design and the bosses is truly remarkable. A newer masterpiece that i return to each year.
I went through an extremely painful breakup while listening to this soundtrack for months and months. Now enough time has passed for me to be able to look back. This soundtrack encapsulates these feelings so well, a forgotten kingdom, once rich and full of life - reduced to mere ruins and memories. I still think about her, but I know my thoughts and memories will be gone sometime, like tears in rain.
You are right, only time can save you from this painful feeling.. and soon another beautiful kingdom you will build , different but even more magnificent. you just have to be patient.

The reason Hollow Knight is compared with a lot of souls-like games is because of the rewards for exploring and the relief you can get when conquering a difficult boss, you have to take the time to learn the attacks and go for the openings. The feeling when you defeat NMG or the Radiance is one of the most rewarding feelings in gaming. The music is a part of the reward of beating a hard area or boss, the solace you can feel, like youre looking up into a raining sky while you stand before the Hollow Knight statue in the City of Tears, or the wind in Dirtmouth. That, I think is one of the best feelings in the world.
I just used this while studying and it was so nice. Hollow Knight is one of my favorite games and the music is something I noticed right away. Will definitely be back for more study sessions 🖤.

This game is better than those games. It's up there with A Link to the Past, and Super Metroid. But honestly I think Hollow Knight is even better than those.
i cannot understate this, but i absolutely love this video. for the past 8 months i have found myself always coming back to this specific hollow knight music video. i practically memorized the music tracks, and which one will be next. whenever i need to do homework, go to sleep, or even relax after a long (and most likely horrible) day, this always gives me a certain...feeling. i feel comfortable. i feel open. i feel calm, even, and sometimes happy. i got into hollow knight in 8th grade, literally a few months ago. after beating the game i would always listen to this before going to bed (if i had trouble sleeping) and now when i'm listening to it, as a freshman in HS, i feel as if im still in middle school, reliving the amazing memories i've made with my friends. and it especially reminds me of the final few months of middle school, because that was when my love for HK was at its peak. those last few months for me, despite my struggles throughout that year, will always hold close to me. and this video, oddly, is reminiscent of memories. i'm only a month into HS, yet i still want to go back. this game is so beautiful to me, the art, the atmosphere. and the music, it's so...surreal. sometimes. i feel as if im part of two worlds when i listen to this... hollow knight is amazing and if you haven't played it im going to force you.

A famous case is when Mr Beast and his friends sang a Bon Jovi music in one of the videos, a random guy copyright claimed the video and others, making Mr Beast lose money for months because of a fake copyright claim.

I didn't like its controls and neither did I enjoy the difficulty at times. But the atmosphere this game creates with its story, music, characters and visuals really is something special. At moments the game gets absolutely unbeatable. And I mean that in difficulty but also in its top-notch atmosphere. I might suck at platformers, but this game is still one of my favorites :)

The ambiance works really well with the music, too.
The reason Hollow Knight is compared with a lot of souls-like games is because of the rewards for exploring and the relief you can get when conquering a difficult boss, you have to take the time to learn the attacks and go for the openings. The feeling when you defeat NMG or the Radiance is one of the most rewarding feelings in gaming. The music is a part of the reward of beating a hard area or boss, the solace you can feel, like youre looking up into a raining sky while you stand before the Hollow Knight statue in the City of Tears, or the wind in Dirtmouth. That, I think is one of the best feelings in the world.
I just used this while studying and it was so nice. Hollow Knight is one of my favorite games and the music is something I noticed right away. Will definitely be back for more study sessions 🖤.

I will never admit how many times I've listened through this whole video... I don't plan to stop, it keeps me productive, but no other soul will know just how many times I've listened...
This game will be in history of video games one day, important like Super Mario Bros, Tetris, Pac-Man or Donkey Kong. A true masterpiece.
This game is better than those games. It's up there with A Link to the Past, and Super Metroid. But honestly I think Hollow Knight is even better than those.

i cannot understate this, but i absolutely love this video.
for the past 8 months i have found myself always coming back to this specific hollow knight music video.
i practically memorized the music tracks, and which one will be next.
whenever i need to do homework, go to sleep, or even relax after a long (and most likely horrible) day, this always gives me a certain...feeling.
i feel comfortable.
i feel open.
i feel calm, even, and sometimes happy.
i got into hollow knight in 8th grade, literally a few months ago.
after beating the game i would always listen to this before going to bed (if i had trouble sleeping)
and now when i'm listening to it, as a freshman in HS, i feel as if im still in middle school, reliving the amazing memories i've made with my friends.
and it especially reminds me of the final few months of middle school, because that was when my love for HK was at its peak.
those last few months for me, despite my struggles throughout that year, will always hold close to me.
and this video, oddly, is reminiscent of memories.
i'm only a month into HS, yet i still want to go back.
this game is so beautiful to me, the art, the atmosphere.
and the music, it's so...surreal.

Hollow knight has the kind of music that makes us sad, but a sweet sadness which could warm our heart and think on how beautiful his world is despite the loneliness. We're alone in splendid places, but in the end these musics and places live with us in this journey. Hollow Knight changed my way to play a game forever.

city of tears is forever one of my favorite soundtracks of all time, and it also might be one of my favorite locations in any videogame. I love when you first enter the outside portion going down the elevator and the music loudens and everything feels so much more atmospheric.
The ambience when you're at the bench in Godhome with the fountain in the background is really nice, too.
This has helped me through so many panic attacks, meditations, and supported productive thought spirals thank you so much

@@antonhvidthingstup1911 From what I have seen, the authors of the music are perfectly fine with him uploading this stuff. RUclips sees that, and pretty much just goes "that's cool and all, but I don't really care" and copyright strikes people anyway.
@@CreeperMan-dr6ql RUclips doesn't take videos down just for the hell of it. They do it because they are told so by copyright holders, otherwise they get sued off the face of the earth. Some of these lawsuits are bullshit, but the not all.

A famous case is when Mr Beast and his friends sang a Bon Jovi music in one of the videos, a random guy copyright claimed the video and others, making Mr Beast lose money for months because of a fake copyright claim.

Hollow Knight, for me, is almost a reflection of myself in this little knight's shell. He was a big friend in a period I was a lot by myself, and the greatest hero of Hallownest.

Feeling a bit nostalgic, I started listening to these beautiful tracks around 2 AM. It's the first time I've fallen asleep while listening to music in years. Such a wonderful feeling, like you're drifting on the clouds high up in the sky. This music is simply magical.

I've been waiting for far too long for a hollow knight ambience, but it was well worth it
I didn't like its controls and neither did I enjoy the difficulty at times. But the atmosphere this game creates with its story, music, characters and visuals really is something special. At moments the game gets absolutely unbeatable. And I mean that in difficulty but also in its top-notch atmosphere. I might suck at platformers, but this game is still one of my favorites :)
