So Dinesh believing 9/11 was justified because of our supposed decadence actually validates an idea I’ve had recently. The idea is this: the people who were saying it happened because “they hate us for our freedom” were not-so subtly implying that the problem wasn’t a hatred of freedom on the part of the attackers but instead that at that point they actually thought the problem was that we had too much freedom. The problem was that we DIDN’T have massive surveillance laws, that we didn’t have a DHS, that we weren’t getting fisted by TSA agents and were allowed to walk up to airport gates to meet people, that we didn’t have secret prisons in places like Gitmo, that we weren’t dropping bombs on brown people in perpetuity. It really is something to see this semi-popular public figure actually make this argument and to have many people agree with him. It’s also interesting that he wrote that but simultaneously had also jumped on the anti-Islam bandwagon.
Dinesh knew that this movie was going to be a joke, right down to its pearl-clutching title. He knew it would ONLY appeal to the above 50 email-forwarding crowd. It was a cynical naked cash-grab, and that is that.
@@jasondaveries9716 well they couldn't do that, because it would result in a muti-hour bar brawl. Or it would be two drunk euros who don't speak the same language awkwardly staring at each other. Depends.

To be honest I watched 45minutes of this documentary review hoping to listen to a discussion about historical inaccuracies and have a fact based discussion. This isn’t a marvel movie where all criticism lays in film & acting quality , and fictional story inaccuracies deviating from comic book lore. This is mostly a documentary with an agenda as far as the facts alone i never heard any criticisms calling out historical inaccuracies primarily the civil war and nazi era portions. Most of what I heard are insults and personal disagreements on the film. Not one thing about the historical facts being wrong was mentioned. It’s one thing to criticize a film because you personally disagree but another to comb over to find historical discrepancies. To give my two cents the documentary’s historical facts separated from the agenda tied to it are correct. The weird connections he makes are eggie to say. And the two singing opera seance I wasn’t into it was good but not my thing. Being an historical reenactor of both conflicts this documentary goes over with practical knowledge of the history I was quite amazed on how he covered these topics. As far as the modern agenda behind it well that’s up to the viewers interpretation and beliefs.
There's no need to debunk the "facts" of the movie's arguments because they are obviously false to anyone that gives half a crap about history, and if it isn't obvious to you it's because you are the unlearned rube in the room. I sure love how you mention historical reenactment as if it was akin to having a degree, while evidencing that you are an imbecile without a clue about what you're talking; the sort of imbecile that'd get conned by D'Souza, no less.
