Eel/Unagi is my go to piece of fish for people new to sushi. I just dont tell them what it is and let them know it is cooked (it is) and they usually like it. I've seen someone scarf 10 down before I told them.
Look at his facial expressions and actions (with the haggis he pulled the fork away quickly before he even had time to register taste) and you can see he is judging these foods on his thoughts and not his taste buds. Just eat the food and let the flavour do the talking instead of your mind.
