I don't think the fans realize how much equipment you need to run a season. And prepping that many sprinters is a mountain to climb in itself. Your excellent crew is a damn good plus for you. Best of Luck to you all
I cannot wait to see what the new paint scheme will look like. I'm ready for the season to begin. That's super cool flying in a private jet to the race.
Great tour of the shop, everything looks great, looking forward to the new season to start, love the videos keep em coming, and go get that championship this year.
Looking forward to seeing you win the 2022 championship. Appreciate you being a clean driver and wonderful to your fans even on those bad nights. See ya at knoxville!!!
Love the shop videos, it’s been a long time, try making more videos in between races when the crew is working on the race car. Boy the private jet would be a nice ride. Good luck 👍 this season.
Can not wait for the season start and the 🏁🏁 and 🥇🏆🏆 to pile up and win the championship 🏆 great behind the scenes look at the shop and good luck with the coming year
If ya'll run brand new stuff for the new season. What do you do with all of last years stuff? You mentioned the one car from last year. I'm assuming ya'll had the same number of cars last year. Where did all of those go?
Just the cost of the rear rims would pay my mortgage for at least a year or so. Twenty years ago a Weld sprint car beadlock right rear rim was over $750. I am almost afraid to ask how much they are going for in today's world. The sprint car really started to evolve in the 90's with better chassis being engineered and I am pretty sure that anyone that is someone buys there chassis from one of the big chassis builders. I watched a guy race for twenty years and his cars were the first cars that I ever seen lay over to the left and drag the left rear frame rail getting into the corner. He built every sprint car he ever raced. He had a master's in engineering and was a machinist so he had an advantage before anyone showed up at the track. The downtube chassis really toughened up the chassis and stopped the flexing of the standard car. At my local dirt track most guys built most of their parts because there wasn't an internet or supply companies that catered to racing. There were a few but not like it is today. I could get on the phone starting at 8am and I could be done by 2pm ordering an entire car and the chassis would take the longest to get there. I would drive and pickup my $50k engines Peace
DGR- Love the video! Kid in the candy 🍬 store! DG- Good 👍 Luck! To you& ur team. Watching & Sending Good Luck! Ur way! Watching CT. Boys! Giddie up!🔨👇👊👌
I could never understand how this works financially. Given the enormous expenses of a full time ride, the generally small purses and mostly low profile/local sponsors, I just don’t see how you could break even. I always imagined there are people who are very wealthy and love this racing that dump money into it.
It is a total wash unless you knock off about a completely winning season. Towards the end of the video, David states his commercial passenger flight was cancelled and his car owner was kind enough to fly him to his destination via his private jet. A Citation CJ4 lists just under 10 million and operational costs per hour is slightly under 2k. The car owner simply loves the sport and has no problem losing money doing so.
this ^ Racing the world of outlaws is very expensive. We need wealthy car owners to keep sprint car racing pumping. Some teams run it as a business to make money but not many. Only jjr and Brian brown do it that way. And you need alot of sponsorship funding to do so!
@@DavidGravel Thanks, that’s what I thought. My dad took me to my first world of outlaws race in the late ‘70s, Riverside in West Memphis Arkansas. I decided Sammy was my guy that night, but you’ve been my #1 for a few years. Looking forward to a great season, I’ll be at Eldora, Attica, and Waynesfield. Maybe you can pick up a chocolate milk sponsor?
@@DavidGravel Just the cost of everything from diesel fuel, gasoline for the pit cart along with food both going down the road along with everything that is stocked in the trailer for race nights. How much money a year do you guys spend on just ICE??? The pit passes are another over priced (IMHO) necessity that adds up with all the costs most people don't include when they try to estimate the cost of racing. I can only imagine how much a quickchange rear end is along with bird cages for both sides. Not to mention if you just happen to wad one up bad enough that you have to throw the pipe away... What chassis are you running DG? How much is a bare chassis going to set you back?? Just racing sprint cars on Iracing is overpriced. Well I think so.... Hey DG, when they finally get high speed internet out here in no man's land where I live, will you start a online sprint car team and let me fly your colors? LOL Peace
This is HUGE money Catalog racing where only the rich can race. I liked when racers built their own equipment with not a lot of money. ALL this high dollar stuff help ruin the sport.
More of this type of video please! Love the behind the scenes stuff

sell them or in our case our bosses needed them for show cars for the speedway.
Hey, where is all the HP? Show us the engines.
