Watching this when I was 14 made me really want a BC rich V, then I actually played a V 😂. They may be a cheesy band especially now but these guys can really play . That solo section at the end rips and blew my mind as a kid.

He is in every video on the first album, he toured on the first album so no, he didn't leave during "recordings" unless it was the 2nd record then maybe. Hook sucks, he is too old school, Darrell is way better!
I been playing a few months and barely learned a scale (working on bar chords) and to see the precision these guys have is awesome. If I get to be as good of a player as these guys I will feel lucky
Everytime I watch this video I really gain a lot of motivation. It was one of the 3 major influences that brought me into guitar playing and now it's 5 years since i started. Eventough i discovered a lot of new different styles - from Alexi Laiho to Chuck Schuldiner to Syn, Darrell, Adler, Henson and so on - I rewatch this video and remember why i took this journey. I tried a lot of new things and had a lot stagnating phases 'till this day where I try to write new songs myself. Today i think i once again f*cking understood that i have to get straight and rip the guitar to write killer riffs like these guys(back then). I'm not really a fan of their newer stuff but TWOTF and WITA are damn masterpieces.

it took me about a year to get better with my hands in the way your talkin about. the more you play, the more you dont realize it, but your starting to shred :3
its just moving the center of the string to a different location, like if u hold and bend the 3rd fret, the 8th 10th and 15th fret can be used as harmonics, its just the physics of waves on a string, so if u hold a note, u can tap 5, 7, or 12 frets above it to get a harmonic, its pretty useful while soloing
@161194 the tuning is Drop B tuning. i roughly tuned my guitar like that and then took my tuner to do the preciser tuning. And not all the songs of 5FDP are in the same tuning, "The Bleeding" is in Drop C

My aunt tried her hardest and bought me FFDP's first CD as a gift (bless her heart for trying), and I've gotta say, for being kind of watered down and radio friendly, there's actually a little bit of heaviness on the record. I like the 'breakdown' from the Devil's own, has kind of an August Burns Red harmony on the leads. I mean, these guys are kinda old dudes rockin out, and I respect that.
I have not yet had the pleasure of being to one of their shows, but they are the real deal, watch any live video they are fucking incredible live. They are also one of the most caring bands of their fans ever. They always give away free songs and sign things and give away shit all the time, much more than other bands. They know they are making lots of money so they can take it easy financially and give away things. They let their fans design stuff to. 5FDP is extremely caring and are geniuses.
Also some people call them douche bags trying to look tough when they are all martial artists and can seriously kick peoples asses, Zoltan is a celebrity in Hungary as a master martial artist, so the name FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH is very suitable for a kick ass metal band that can kick your ass ha. But seriously they have such a unique sound-and their musicianship is fucking mind blowing, I really don't care if some people dislike them because I KNOW they are amazing/along with millions of others
They are amazingly talented musicians and on top of that, they are very listenable and lots of people love them, 5FDP rose to fame faster than any band I have ever seen. They went from opening act to selling out arenas, and there heaviness and lyrics are anything but mainstream or politically acceptable. They play around with the word sell out because they know they make real music but are still somehow- in this fucked up music industry still able to get HUGE. Thats why. 5FDP for life \m/ METAL!

There is nothing mindless about it, they are fucking great. Nobody else has the sound of 5FDP, they have this groove thrash thing going on that nobody else can touch. Anyway, every band has shit talked about them but they are one of the best bands EVER. They are just going to keep getting bigger and there musicianship just keeps improving with every masterpiece album they make. If you don't like 5FDP then get out of here.
@meccaman n good exercises would be to do chromatic scales. just run up n down thous to work ur fingers out up n down up n down until u cant go anymore, stop give ur fingers a few minutes to get the blood flowin again.. do it again until u cant anymore n just keep doing that every day... its like working out... u gotta work ur fingers out to or they wont be able to keep up with what u want to play. so dont just rely on learning songs to make u better.. figure out little exercises to do
At that point in time, Zoltan was using a Schecter. I'm not sure if Roberts guitar was a custom. But I know that Zoltan uses a Assassin endorsed by BC Rich. Still if that, its the players choice to go buy a BC Rich and try it out. Theres custom guitars made by ESP for specified players and then theres those ones you just see at every shop anyways.
Whilst I don't agree with Monkeybones choice of words, I do agree with his underlying message. Consider a choir. The baritone doesn't have to be 6'4" and weigh 400 pounds. He could be the size of a jockey and still be a baritone. As the name suggests it's purely tonal. Whilst their guitars might not be a 'Baritone Scale', they are baritone tunes guitars.

@161194 all of their songs are in B standard tuning... Strings - Zoltan(the rhythm guitarist) uses 13-70, Darrel (lead guitarist) uses 13-56.
