    You can make the luring more dynamic, so the puppy enjoys it beyond just a means to eating.

    • @AmericanStandardK9
      @AmericanStandardK9  2 года назад +2

      You can yes. You can also stand like a statue and teach the dog via free shaping and oddly get even more focus and drive. I only add energy or more dynamic if the dog is super flat. We're not training flashy competition dogs for the most part. We're trying to keep them a little more flat yet reliable so they make good house dogs. Therefore, you usually won't see me doing cartwheels or yoga moves to get extra engagement. Sometimes you have to though

    Me and my partner just got a 15 week rottie had him 3 days. He is doing well with potty training, has had a couple accidents in the house which was our fault but his been doing good the most part, can get him to sit, come and respond to his name (titan) trying to teach him stay and down. I'm not using any pinch/choke collars his just having a normal one. Anyone have any good tips especially to fully potty train him and also stop crying at night in his cage. (currently at night I've just been totally ignoring him till I let him out and go outside to the toilet then praise/treat him). Any tips/advice I'd be happy with.

    I have a question, I'm getting a husky mix soon and I want to train her to be off-leash in the future,,, but I am not allowed to use e-collars. Can I trust her with just alot of long lead training? Or should I forget about off-leash?

    • @AmericanStandardK9
      @AmericanStandardK9  2 года назад +1

      Not allowed? You can use an e-collar in your backyard and your house and who is going to bother you? Regardless long line training is still good for the dog. Doesn't hurt to try. Every dog is different. Go as far as you can with training and then ask yourself if you trust the dog without an e-collar or long line.

    • @benfuller3413
      @benfuller3413 2 года назад

      E-collars a fecking barbaric and there is not a single instance where they can actually be useful or help you. How'd you like it if someone strapped an e-collar around your neck and shocked you every time you didn't do something they liked. You really wanna see what you'd be putting your dog through then put it around your neck first and shock yourself with it.

    • @benfuller3413
      @benfuller3413 2 года назад

      @@AmericanStandardK9 I can't believe your actually suggesting an e-collar is an option. Your a professional dog trainer you should know better and know they do more harm than good and that they are barbaric

    • @AmericanStandardK9
      @AmericanStandardK9  2 года назад +2

      You simply have no idea what you're talking about. I put them on myself literally ALL the time. I put them on owners ALL the time. Nobody in my training program is allowed to use on their own dog until they use it on themselves and understand how it works. I have no need to explain myself to you or attempt to convince you of anything. Do your research before you jump on the goofy positive only train. You've never used an e-collar, never tested one, never been trained on one and therefore have ZERO knowledge on the matter. Now, shape up or ship out and stop badgering my subscribers or I'll just ban you because nobody needs to hear your nonsense

    • @AmericanStandardK9
      @AmericanStandardK9  Год назад +1

      Yes, this is an extremely powerful guardian breed, which makes training in obedience and manners even more important. You can always check out our online programs on DIYK9.com. But with this breed, working with a local trainer is recommended, even if you are not planning to do protection work or dog sports. Best wishes!
