Shows what trailers used to be like - having a narrator giving us teasers along with it, in a voice that sounds like they used to work on old newsreels.

The real man whose body was used for this purpose had a very sad death. But he served his country and received an honored burial.

When they were filming where I lived, in Ampthill square (an area with lots of bomb ruins) my mum saw Stephen Boyd sitting on a step, she said go get his autograph, I was a very shy little girl but in awe of what was going on in our street. With a lot of encouragement from other mums I plucked up enough courage to go over. Please sir can I have your autograph I said. No I’m only a taxi driver he replied, what an arrogant prick. Couldn’t abide watching any film with him in it after that.

I love this film! It's actually one of my favorites. Some movies take forever to get going and have complex plots but this one pulls you right in immediately and is easy to follow. The spy angle also makes it very suspenseful. I also love Heaven Knows, Mr. Allison from the 50's with Robert Mitchum and Deborah Kerr. That also has a lot of suspense and is easy to follow.

Just watched the new version but didnt care for it !! TOOO COMPLEX AND IT WAS IRRELEVANT IN MANY PARTS , I usually like Colin Firth but not this time…and Mathew Mc ?? was ok but the story got lost ..too much diverse story lines and conversation… I remembered the old one better..THAT YOU COULD FOLLOW !! NO PROBLEM !!

Both the original film and the remake have major flaws. Just read the book. It is far more interesting and has more depth. You can only have so much in a film
