International game. I love it. They speak with such joy and positivity in their everyday conversations. Spanish sounds like such a fun language. Baseball is in good hands with young studs like Vladdy, Soto, Ohtani, Tatis and Acuna.
Never too late to learn, the grammar is a bit annoying but once you get conversational it's totally worth it. And that's the beauty of baseball, like, take me for example: i'm from Brazil, have been playing the game for over ten years here and it helped me pick up not only english, but also spanish AND japanese! People talk a lot about soccer, but I think baseball is the sport that does a better job of bringing cultures together
tatis and vladdy grew up together, tatis said that vladdys grandmother made food that keeps them happy and healthy which is the most wholesome thing i heard. people call them overrated and get hated on but they’re just doing what they love
It’s so wholesome to think they know each other since they were 14, and they all made it. In fact, Soto’s rise was outrageous! Think about this… when Tatis & Vladdy did BP at 15 years old in the DR, Soto used to be one of those kids in the outfield catching balls. He was their age but wasn’t considered good enough yet. I know this cause I was one of those kids catching in the outfield as well. I remember young Soto, I’ve never seen such determination and discipline in a guy that age. What he did between 14-18 was different.
@haban85 Agree. The reason why it goes that way is because they all are foreigners and try to always help each other. They are always in touch in and out of the field.
Vlad's exuberance and enthusiasm is so infectious. Reminds me of Subban's early years with the Habs, except that didn't go over as well because hockey's culture is more conservative.
Gerardo Parra is everything I need right now. Positive energy, smiling, encouraging and grateful for everything he has. We need more of this right now people, if you have friends in your circle who are negative all the time, get rid of them.
I played ball my whole childhood speaking Spanish in the Caribbean, then moved to Toronto and has been living here for 17 years. At 00:13 the actual translation of what Vladimir Guerrero Jr. says is: "If he (the pitcher) sells you, you buy (swing at) it." That's a phrase you say to the player at bat within your own team encouraging him to swing at the ball if the pitchers throws a pitch in the zone. It's also a tactic to intimidate pitchers by reminding that the person at bat will swing if he dares to throw the ball in the zone. "IF THEY ARE SELLING, BUY IT! is simply NOT correct.
This is awesome! MLB needs to keep doing things like this. This is a better way to get to know your favorite baseball players. By being themselves, having fun, playing baseball. Rather than conservative sit down interviews.
No! Nats fans want Parra forever! The interchanges between Vladi Jr and Parra are priceless, especially when they both begin to sing the same song. Remembering: a home game in Washington, Vladi Jr playing first, so he's right near the Nats' dugout. Of course they could hear each other sing.
watching again in 2024 he literally said in 2021 he's gonna cut his hair in 2 or 3 more years 3 years later cuts his hair and goes nuts in the second half
When the Nats got him from KC for "money considerations", I wondered. Escobar had been in the minors since 2018, a long, long time. I'm delighted that Vladi Jr remembered and welcomed him back from oblivion. Incidentally, Escobar has played and hit really well. He is, and acts like, the grownup holding the infield together.
He knows enough english, maybe he isn't full fluent yet but sure he can speak with teammates, but even if he were fluent enough, he still feel more comfortable speaking Spanish. Look at Ichiro's case for example: he knew how to speak English fluently but he rather speak in his native language during press conferences.

love the idea of soto tatis and vladdy just being best friends outside of the game

They are actually very good friends out of the field.

As a jays fan, I already loved Vladdy, now I love him so much more. What a guy!

This was highly entertaining. I love how they're all so friendly w/ one another. It makes the game that much better and so much more fun to watch.
I love how George Springer Changed Vladdys mind on the walkout song you could see him realising ,,bro he has a point“ 😂😂
Vladdy has the most fun on the ball field!
You know you’re a genuinely nice person when you’re cordial with Angel Hernandez of all people! Keep it up Vlad!
He's EXTRA FRIENDLY with a mic on!
This is so wholesome and endearing
😂🤣😂!!!! Muy buena idea lo de los micrófonos. Excellent Idea MLB!
Love me some Gerardo Parra, will never forget that 2019 run!
Thanks MLB, it is so natural and funny, they enjoy playing the game, as we enjoy playing on street or the backyard...please, more mic'd up
Motormouth Vlad...I love this guy's attitude! Great player, just having fun. Stay healthy, Junior...you're going to be one of the greats!!
Early in the video, I think it's Gerardo Parra who says, of Vladi Jr, "He's a great player but an even better guy".
Love ya Vladdty, heads up, this is a learning year for the team, bright future ahead
@E Ardlow why would you ask that?
soto and vladdys conversation is so great i love it
i love the support the latin guys have for each other. All love and blessings ❤️

always come back to this gem… their interactions are very wholesome… amazing vibes and energy and absolutely great ball players
Vladdy seems like such a friendly and caring person.
This is beyond fascinating. Every single player should be mic'd up during a game!
Vlad and the baby shark lets go!
Lezzzzz goooooooo that soto at bat still one of my fav jomboy breakdowns 😂
This is really terrific! So sweet!
Juan Soto needs to be micd before the season is over
