So if I'm understanding this right, xrays and CT's are for bone, just 2D and 3D respectively? And MRI allows for 3D view of a variety of tissues aside from just bone?

Why do they use CT scan at the air port? No I don't mean the thing everyone walks through, but they'll pull ya out of line and ask you to go into a machine that scans completely around you which I assume, is a CT scan?
