It's funny cause when I was a kid I used to hate the hell out of this game, it was too difficult and too gritty looking for me. But now that I'm much older I replayed the game (and finally beat it) and now it's one of my favorites out of the series, this is the *original* gta, the true classic. The atmosphere of the game is perfect for the city and time it's in and Claude is just a total psycotic badass and the perfect character to cause absolute mayhem with. The characters and the dark humor that lies within the game is something that we'll probably never see again in Rockstar's games.
GTA was the first game that actually made me fall in love with the gta series , followed by San Andreas and I’m fucking stoked for this remaster. On the original Xbox I still have as well as the of games.
Rest in peace...what could have been a great modern graphical remake of the trilogy, like the mafia 1 game...instead it turned into this poorly modded copy paste...

I played gta 3 on my phone for the first time on 2019 and more time later i find this masterpiece.I played this game too late since i born in 2004 ,but arrived on time to play some games from Rockstar on phone i viewed the trailer and this surprised me with this music.Simply Fantastic and Badass.
liberty city stories was pretty awesome too. never played all the way through vice city stories but you could start a drug empire that was pretty awesome as well.
I always did like Vice City, and San An storyline wise. San An has to be my favourite GTA of all time (I haven't played 5 yet, waiting for the PC version).
