I am a fan of your work but I have to say that this situation made me view you differently. You’re a public figure and you brought your business on social media making it everyone else’s business. No one forces you to say that your wife May was with you when you had nothing and treated you well you said it yourself. For you to then turn around and not only have an affair that led to a baby being born, but to marry your child’s mother as a second wife without May’s knowledge and approval is completely wrong.
He addressed it because the rumour was put out there months before. He wanted to correct it. He was not asking for people claiming this dysfunctional idea of online in laws, to respond with insulting him and the woman he married. People went too far. I heard and read insults about the woman appearance and all sorts, nothing constructive in the majority. Most of these comments from. Other women, particularly Nigerian women. Meanwhile the hypocrisy of it all. When the first wife is not a Nigerian or is without kids, then they don’t respond towards the second woman the way they did in this case. If Nigerian women detest polygamy then they should use the same energy to take political action to have it made illegal and punishable under the law. And they should fight for equal property rights as wives regardless of whether its a monogamous or polygamous marriage. Men do this in Nigeria because there are no legally binding financial consequences if a first wife or subsequent wife decides to leave the marriage as a result of this practice. Mr Edochie, i respect your honesty. Many Igbo men do what you did or have kids outside their marriage and keep it hidden because they are cowards. Any woman who says she does not want to know the truth is one who lacks self esteem. This happened to me and was hidden until I found out, and it was the shock and pain of deception that hurt and caused my health to suffer more than the actual act of marriage behind my back when we were legally married. You can never trust a man that is willing to hide and deceive about his children. Once a woman knows she can decide knowing the truth of the matter and whether she can cope. If she cannot she can leave the marriage, which is what I decided to do. I hope you do decide in the end though whether staying married to two women is best. I am a fan of your work but I have to say that this situation made me view you differently. You’re a public figure and you brought your business on social media making it everyone else’s business. No one forces you to say that your wife May was with you when you had nothing and treated you well you said it yourself. He was not asking for people claiming this dysfunctional idea of online in laws, to respond with insulting him and the woman he married. People went too far. I heard and read insults about the woman appearance and all sorts, nothing constructive in the majority. Most of these comments from. Other women, particularly Nigerian women. Meanwhile the hypocrisy of it all. When the first wife is not a Nigerian or is without kids, then they don’t respond towards the second woman the way they did in this case. If Nigerian women detest polygamy then they should use the same energy to take political action to have it made illegal and punishable under the law. And they should fight for equal property rights as wives regardless of whether its a monogamous or polygamous marriage. Men do this in Nigeria because there are no legally binding financial consequences if a first wife or subsequent wife decides to leave the marriage as a result of this practice. Any woman who says she does not want to know the truth is one who lacks self esteem. This happened to me and was hidden until I found out, and it was the shock and pain of deception that hurt and caused my health to suffer more than the actual act of marriage behind my back when we were legally married. You can never trust a man that is willing to hide and deceive about his children. Once a woman knows she can decide knowing the truth of the matter and whether she can cope. If she cannot she can leave the marriage, which is what I decided to do. I hope you do decide in the end though whether staying married to two women is best.
