  • Greetings my fellow NurseBrothers and NurseSisters are you ready to learn about the proper labs and diagnostics for a patient coming in with Cardiac Chest Pain?

    So I discuss & explain the rationales for the common Tests, labs, and Diagnostics ordered for a patient who arrives in the hospital setting.
    ----------------------------------------------------
    BLOOD TESTS: CBC, Chem7, CPK, BNP, Troponinsx3
    MEDICATIONS: Nitroglycerin, clot busters, blood thinners, anti-anxiety
    DIAGNOSTICS: Electrocardiogram (ECG), Chest X-ray
    FOLLOW UP: Echocardiogram, MRI. Stress tests, Coronary catheterization.
    SURGERIES : Balloons/Stents, Bypass surgery, Dissection repair. ----------------------------------------------------

    Awesome, love cardiac too. Also, I think If you’re hospital has a “code stemi” (maybe not in triage? Idk), that’s important to remember to call. It lets everyone know your patient needs attention, and makes lab and pharmacy are aware so they know to prioritize this patient for time sensitive meds and labs. there should be someone to help you out and you can have them quickly shave their wrists and groins so cath lab loves you, get a type and screen and emergency contact in case things turn left in the cath lab.

      Yes, well said. I appreciate the feedback regarding “code STEMI”👌🏽.
      It’s so true how cath lab loves you more when you shave the wrists and groins for a cleaner and aseptic technique when the sheath is inserted in their radial or femoral artery for the proper cardiac cath procedure.🫀💪🏽.

      es una gran idea, pero no estoy seguro de cuántos de mis seguidores solo hablan español. pero definitivamente haré más videos en español
