What a great discussion. Love your Deep Dive. Keep it up; just talking hockey in such a natural and casual way. I miss this so much after leaving my hockey fan friends from the east coast so many years ago. Talking hockey with people who understand and love the game. And it feeds my wonderful addiction to the game too. Love it!

I am hopeful that the Kraken will not spend the entire season making the same defensive errors without any evidence that it is being addressed, and making mediocre goalies look like Vezina finalists. I am already seeing evidence that the first item has improved with the coaching staff changes. The second one...We made Casey DeSmith and Dan Vladar look awfully good, but things like Wright's creative O-zone play makes me hopeful here too.

Personally, I don’t believe the goaltending is as bad as this episode makes it out to be. It could still use improving sure, but it’s not awful. And wasn’t goaltending the main strength of the team last season? I wonder if the extra criticism of the goaltending is due to their contracts (especially the new one Joey got), similarly with how Burky and Stephenson have microscopes on them. Is that a fair assessment?

I wanna give you guys credit or credit I think is due. I think you guys are matured so much as far as covering the team. You’re very good at analyzing being critical but not being like ridiculous like you’re a Yankees fan or something lol seriously great job as far as with this other person saying the goaltending for good or bad. I think they’re pretty much spot on the thing about goaltending You have to remember is that a team a lot of time will play to the level of their goal tending not always but a lot of times. goaltenders don’t necessarily lose games, but you want your goaltenders to win games and I think that’s part of the problem here if that makes sense.

I def think burakovsky is not playing great. We need more from him. I also think stephenson has to find a better role besides faceoff guy for his contract.

you guys are making so many great points. The problem with the whole playoff thing is the NHL has that crazy extra point thing or whatever it is it really makes it hard for a team to get in. I mean, you could basically look at the standings right after Thanksgiving or like early December I’m pretty much the teams that are there and the teams in the playoffs. I mean there’s a couple exceptions of stuff but Kraken feels different at times and yet looks exactly the same at other times. I mean their defensive coverage sometimes it’s just hilarious and I don’t know if that can be fixed that skill honestly, I don’t know because very easy to say coaches can do this and that but sometimes if you don’t have a skill, you don’t have a Skill.
