Wonderful footage and oddly comforting and deeply moving. Shame on those who oversaw the destruction of so much of the Irish railways and thanks so much for the immense legacy and foresight of Joe and Tony and of course Ciaran! Keeping such an important part of Irish heritage alive. Well done!

Scenes by Joe St Leger and Tony Price which are long gone and it can be said these films are a great legacy and thanks to Ciaran for the hard work in digitalizing them.

Regarding special passenger trains along Burma Rd a friend of mine recalls a school excursion by train to Limerick from Swinford by train in the early 70's

The passenger train on the Burma Rd was a knock special. It was from Sligo and was booked by an order of nuns. 1974/75.
