Wow, that was brilliant. I did a lyric video where I created about 25 different JPEGs in Microsoft paint and dragged them into Reaper. Pretty boring but it got the job done. I'll definitely be doing this in my next one. Great stuff as usual Kenny. Thank you.

Hey Kenny , it seems that my videos are sooo laggy during playback within reaper , No issues outside , I have the VLC and FFMPEG encoders but still the same issue , do you have any idea what could be wrong? thanks a lot
Kenny and Rick Beato, my instructors for my music hobby. Always amazed at what can be done in Reaper. One question on this subject. How can one create two lines of lyrics one below the other? e.g. lyric line "Un mejor dia vendra", and below it, "(A better day will come)".
Yeah that for me is the weakness of this at the moment, you can't change the font colour. I wish it had a textbox functionality where you could easily change colour/size/font etc of individual words and have multiple lines of text, and be able to automate it so you could record moving textbox around in real-time..
On the reaper forum, in the video section, there's a modification of the overlay text preset that gives you colored text and/or colored background. It's in the sticky post about video presets. Someone could add a feature for karaoke-style coloring.

Hi! I cant get any of the controls to ''work'' within the plugin. I can get Text on a midi instance.... However, I cannot remove the grey background, i cannot adjust the Y X positions and I cannot change the font. I am on Windows 11

When I do the F2 for Media Item Properties, I get a screen that matches Kenny's as far as Active Take, but the heavier grey box entitled 'Take Properties' does NOT appear - it goes straight to Take pitch shift/time stretch mode. Any idea what I'm doing wrong?
Just go to insert media file, find Your folder, scroll down to the media type and choose all media instead of displayed and chose all - You will see all media files in the in the folder. Find Yor file and add. After that resize Your file to right lenght. Thats it.
Another terrific video, and this one showing something I would not have thought to use Reaper for. FYI, there was a typo at 12:08 or so - "coudn't" should be "couldn't." Other than that, a flawless presentation as usual.
I think all fonts that are available on your pc. Search your system settings. Not sure where exactly since I'm on mobile right now but hopefully I could help :)

Reaper is crazy. It's far beyond what any DAW should be able to do and it does so with a minimal install size.

Cockos forum has a thread where users post presets they've coded, there're quite a few

a project template for ReaKaraoke, with lyrics items can be auto-populated with a script, fancy formatting isn't necessary

Kenny mentions that by default the plugin take the midi item take name as input, i guess this has to be changed
Create two tracks, I did it for chords under the lyric track.

Well you can definitely add custom code to read srt, but I wouldn't be surprised if someone already did that!

Your window is not maximized (even though you think it is). Grab the corner and stretch it larger and you will see it.

While position the mouse cursor on the FX window where the code is, press CTRL + S
