Sir , can you please post the video of mathematica regarding Algebra and Calculus. It will be a great help for those whose exams are approaching including me😅 Thankyou.
Thank you so much professor for sharing your videos with us! They're really helping me with my comp math assignments. I was close to giving up on the course before :D
AE 501: This was such a great overview of Mathematica! I've never used the program before and this will be extremely for both the class and in the future.
Can't believe I didn't use mathematica during my undergraduate degree, would have made a real difference during my thermodynamics class! I also love how clean everything looks when using the Section and Subsection type settings.
[AE 501] I'd used Wolfram Alpha in the past, but this is my first time using Mathematica. This video was concise, easy to follow, and made learning a new program pretty fun.
AE 501: This is my first use of Mathematica and it looks to be very useful! I've heard a bunch of other people use it during my undergrad but never got the chance to look to much into it.
AE 501 - This video was key for me to get a basic understanding of Mathematica as someone who has never used it. I think I will be relying heavily on it this quarter, especially utilizing the typesetting ability to present my homework solutions cleanly.
This is my first time using Mathematica, its ability to solve symbolic equation is amazing, and creates a nice looking document at the end. I could use this at Boeing to create strength check notes!
AE501: I have worked with MatLab many times but never Mathematica. When I started at Boeing I was introduced to a tool and was told it was very similar to Mathematica, I can definitely see that now. After viewing this video and the "working with matrices in mathematica" video, I feel like I would prefer Matlab for matrix manipulation, mainly because of the extra steps needed for column manipulation in mathematica. I am definitely going to use it on the homework to get a better feek for it.
AE501: This is my first time with Mathematica as well. Interestingly, it does not require applying the syntax rules like Matlab or other programming tools. It's easier and helpful! And the video is so helpful to get started with this tool. Thank you!
This is my first time working with Mathematica and have always been a big fan of manipulating equations symbolically. Don't know how I missed this during undergrad, but I'm excited to use it this quarter!
Joelyn, welcome to our group of Mathematica enthusiasts. The learning curve is a bit steep with Mathematica but I hope it will be worth it by the end of the quarter.
#AE501 - I have been working in the homework using Mathematica, I am impressed on how easy it is to create a technical document that would have assisted me a lot during my undergrad to complete my projects.
Damian, yes, I think this is one of the primary strengths of Mathematica. It really lets you generate a readable document with code/analysis embedded inline. Let me know what you think as we move through the quarter.
(AE511) Deja vu all over again! Your tutorials were extremely helpful not only for 501, but in subsequent classes as well; I'm sure that the same will be true for 511.
[AE 501 FALL 2022 - JENNIFER JOHNSON] Very helpful intro into Mathematica. I want to say I have used Mathematica before however I am not recognizing it. This intro is helpful and just what I need to get started.
Thanks a lot sir for such a wonderful introduction! You explained in very simple language and straight forward manner, Such kind of content shouldn't be taken granted for. Thank you once again, I am really excited to use Mathematica for my Research after watching this video!
I'm glad it was helpful. There are several related videos on the channel. Please feel free to check them out and I would love to hear what you think in the comments. Thanks for watching!

One thing that I found helpful for the basic math input was looking at the keyboard shortcuts as well. It's a lot faster to use, for example, CTRL+7 to create an overheat than it is to click on the palette. AE501
Good point, most of the commands have keyboard shortcuts and you can get away without ever needing to take your fingers off the keyboard. FYI, in the future, can you include the string 'AE501' in your comments so they get picked up by my end of the quarter analysis system, thanks!

AE 501: Super helpful tutorial. I've never used mathematica before so this was really helpful. Seems like compared to Matlab its a much more expansive version of the command window in matlab. And a much better way to visualize calculations with the addition of text and greek symbols and what not. I wonder what are the benefits of using mathematica vs. matlab and I presume its going to be based on your need. I am much more used to matlab and creating programs to run through several calculations for large sets of data, but it seems like using mathematica is much more helpful for visualizing single calculations. Thanks!

The learning curve is a bit steep as you've noticed but hopefully we'll all get comfortable with it this quarter. Let me know if you run into any issues as the quarter progresses.
AE501 Au 21: These videos were a great help since I had never used Mathematica before. Great to watch through once and then skip around in order to look for specific functionality. The greek symbols sections was my favorite! 'esc' l 'esc' is much better than \[Lambda]. I also like the word processing capability -- like LeTex but with a calculator. One question, is there a shortcut for the vector notation? I've being using Basic Math palette, but haven't gotten the given shortcut to look as good as just selecting the vector notation itself.
AE501 Mathematica reminds me of MathCAD, which is also a notebook style math program that was preferred at my college. Mathematica seems like a far superior version of MathCAD just based on the UI alone.
This is a fantastic video, unfortunately I can't see most of it because my bad eye sight cannot be corrected with glasses, please consider using the entire mathematica screen and or larger font, so that seeing impaired people can learn from them too
Andrew, great, I'm glad it was helpful. Let me know how things go as we move through the quarter. Mathematica is powerful but the learning curve can be a little steep.

@Soren Langston Yup, have been using flixzone for years myself =)
Thank you so much professor for sharing your videos with us! They're really helping me with my comp math assignments. I was close to giving up on the course before :D
The approach of starting from the absolute beginning is super helpful for people like me who have never used Mathematica before.
AE 501: I have never used Mathematica before but this video made it very easy to understand!- Carly Dunford
I already know more about Mathematica than I "tried" to learn by myself in undergrad! Very helpful.

I've never used Mathematica before so this is a great 1st video to be introduced to the language. Thanks for the great video.
Ryo, are you an AE501 student? If so, can you add the prefix of 'AE501' to your comments so I know to give you credit for class participation, thanks.
@@ChristopherLum Yes, sorry about that! This is Ryo Onoue from AE501.
mathematica is such a better logic language that matlab- very concise and helpful tutorial
Love this, great to follow along in Mathematica as I listen at 1.25x speed.
AE 501
Good stuff, 1.25x is a good way to get more learning in done in less time.
Didn't learn Mathematica in undergrad so this video is very helpful for me!

Jennifer, great I'm glad it was helpful. I promise that Mathematica gets easier once you get past some of these initial stumbling blocks.
Not overly familiar with the true ins and outs of Mathematica so this is a good intro series.
Looking forward to using Mathematica towards the second problem in the homework now that I understand how to use it. Thank you!
Did not know how to clear all of the workbook variables until this video!
AE 501: I haven't used Mathmatica before and this was a great intro
I'm in your AE501 class and i'm new to Mathematica. This video is very informative and useful!

AE501, first time using mathematica and these tutorials are helping a lot already
Very helpful and seems like an incredibly powerful tool! Thanks!
Good video for those who are new or need a refresher.
Thanks so much! Very nice pace, in most other tutorials (e.g. for programming languages) either they explain super slowly or for experts. Great video.
This was a very helpful video to get me started on Mathematica!
Great Video to start with Mathematica @Christopher. I would be watching next set of videos.
Thanks for the video! I'm looking forward to incorporating Mathematica into my workflow.
A very helpful introduction to Mathematica.
AE501: Great tutorial video. Mathematica appears to be more user-friendly as comparing to Matlab. This is very helpful. Thank you!

Nice introduction to a powerful tool I've never used before.
That's exactly what I was looking for! Nice introduction, watching the playlist for sure.
Great video for learning the basics of Mathematica.
Very informative Videos 1 to 6 about Mathematica
All the organizational features seem really helpful!
Thanks a lot Professor Lum for the great introduction to Mathematica tutorial. Looking forward to using it for the homework 1!
That was the type of video i was looking for. Thank you!

I like the formatting features of Mathematica
AE501. 4:15. I like the enlarged text. Thanks for pointing that out!
Yeah, I might be getting old but the normal 100% zoom is just too small for me.
AE501, Thank you for the into to Mathematica. This is my first time using the program and you made the learning curve a little bit shallower.
The learning curve is a bit steep as you've noticed but hopefully we'll all get comfortable with it this quarter. Let me know if you run into any issues as the quarter progresses.
Thanks Chris for the Mathematica Intro.
Great intro! Writing equations seems much easier than Word, looking forward to learning more about Mathematica.
Perfect tutorial - great way of teaching!
Really good to know that you need to re-evaluate the notebook if you close out of it. That definitely would have come back to bite me.
Fantastic tutorial. I have always used MATLAB until now. Maybe I should diversify myself and use Mathematica more.
Wish I learned mathematica earlier, seems very useful
A good review on some of the shortcuts to creating/editing a document
Thanks for these lectures. helped me a lot to pass my learning curve
Great refresher on Mathematica
Great intro video to Mathematica! Very helpful to get started quickly. - Thanks!
Very useful video! Good introduction to Mathematica.
Thanks, it's very helpful towards learning the most useful parts quickly!
Great video. Learned a lot, thanks!

Aimee, try Ctrl+7, this gives a space over the character after which you can type _

Andrew, great, I'm glad it was helpful. Let me know how things go as we move through the quarter. Mathematica is powerful but the learning curve can be a little steep.
AE 501: Mathematica is a new tool for me. It is much easier to use than Matlab.
I'm looking forward to learning more. Great intro professor.
I used MATLAB during my undergraduate time. It seems like Mathematica is more user-friendly.
To be fair, MATLAB is more of a programming language while Mathematica is more of a program.
Matlab is easier for me lmaooooo Mathematica is so clunky imo
Having never used Mathematica, this is a good starting point...AE501
