- I keep talking and talking, but it looks like not many people are listening! They still spend money on pointless items, without seeing the most obvious that there are only two essentials for motorcycle traveling and they cost nothing!

Everything you need can fit in a backpack. Everything else is luxury.

The best motorcycle is the one in the garage. I love that. It's so true. Thanks, Pavlin.
Thanks Pavlin for being the voice of reason in this consumption driven world we live in. You're the only motorcycle channel I can think of, that tells us not to buy stuff and appreciate what we got instead. I often get hung up on things I 'absolutely need' only for you to pull me back into reality.
My pleasure!
+1 thanks Pavlin! From CT, U.S.A.
I've done alot of trips. I ride alot. Not "Itchy boots" trips. But trips in Europe. And every time I end up at home. No matter how hopeless the situation looked, I enden up at home.
I must say, I support your Russia trip. You meet the people and I'm sure that your films will show that. No politics, just people.
That's another experience of mine, travelling alone. I meet people in a way which is more difficult travelling in groups. One sweet memory is riding into the town square in Bologna-Sur-Mer (France) having a breakfast at the local baker, saying "Salut" to the locals buying bread in their dressing-gown.
Thank you!
Thanks for the support, John!
😆Just finalized an itinerary for a 6 days trip with two friends end of the month. Relax 1200 km. :) Have a good week Pavlin and subscribers
Thanks for taking the time!
As someone who is going for his license and had alot of doubt about traveling long distance this channel has been a blessing. Your no nonsense and realistic approach is really commendable
Glad to help!
No, no, you keep talking, I keep listening. Thanks to your good advice, and that of my mechanic ("do not run out of fuel"), I had a wonderful 2.000 km trip up and down to Portugal. Keep up the good work!
Thanks for listening!
You are so right Pavlin, I like your example of 20 litres of fuel. Most people dream of adventure far away but don't even know their own country 400km around their home town. Thanks for showing up this reality.
My pleasure, Peter!
your clear and direct speech hits me like a direct to the face! Thank you very much1
Any time!
I am completely convinced that you are the most sane individual in the world . Thanks again for another great video from a very happy subscriber.
Mark from Maryland .
Thanks, Mark!
Without a will to make it happen, nothing happens in life.
Excuses are much easier.
But once you make that 1st trip you will wonder why you never go before !
Safe, happy travels 👍
Absolutely! Motorcycle trips are very addictive!
I've always adventured with minimal equipment and with little money -but I've had amazing adventures. People have actually gotten mad at me for having so much fun with so little. That's their problem, not mine.
Thanks for sharing your experience!
yeah, i'm the same. when i see people with tons of luggage it makes me smile. I've been touring and youth hostelling all over the world since the mid 70's, first on my bicycle, and now by motorbike. when you have to pedal all the gear everywhere you soon learn what you don't really need lol, and i've carried the lessons over to the motorbike. GL
Hi Pavlin, you are the rocket man of the truth. Your common sense is what the world is loosing more and more - always inspiring! I thank you very much for all your effort, knowledge, experience and wisdom.
Your Russian trip under the current circumstances will be very interesting and I‘m curious what kind of experiences and people behaviour you will meet - for sure much different than all media try to tell us every day….wish you a wonderful trip!
Best greetings from Germany 😉
Thank you very much, Uwe! I cannot wait to start!
Thank you for the inspiration Pavlin.
I live in Australia and have thousands of dirt roads to explore just in my state.
Next weekend I will be doing a 1200km trip with 2 mates over 3 days.
50/50 dirt and paved roads.
400km between fuel stops on day 1.
This will be a real adventure for us, and we are looking forward to it.
Happy trails.
PS; I was close to the mark picking Bulgaria on the map.
It’s near the Aegean and Black seas😎
Blagodarya👍
Thanks for watching, Rob!
I have said this before- you are like a therapist! You say the things that I have been taught, not rocket science: we have to COMMIT to a way of achieving our adventure, or find a way of tolerating NOT doing them (which includes NOT complaining about not going on your adventure!). Take responsibility! Great stuff!
Thanks for taking the time again!
HI PAVLIN ,I GOT MY FIRST BIKE WHEN I WAS 12 ,IN 1950..IT WAS A TRIUMPH CUB...STILL RIDING AT 85 YRS ON A HUSKY 150 CC 2 T..GREETINGS FROM THE PHILIPPINES
Thanks for sharing, Dan!
I agree! I have been traveling since I was in my teens. When I don't have a motorcycle I hitchhike, bicycle, walk and do whatever it takes.
Thanks for sharing, Jeremy!
Thankyou very much Pavlin for your wise down to earth; Straight forward advice.
You don't need courage ;you just need to do it.
As always you are right. In my area, 300 kilometers are enough to see so many beautiful places. I'm already looking forward to your next trip. Stay safe
Thanks, man!
Perfectly put. I have been travelling by motorcycle for many years and leading group rides. I have another saying. People who really want to ride make excuses to go riding. Others make excuses to not go riding. One of my favorites is that it is too windy to go riding... I tell them it is always windy on a motorcycle! Cheers...
Yes, excuses are many!
Excuses are like a...holes,everybody's got one.
True!
I love you man! Best channel on RUclips. Some time ago while my mate and I were doing a motorcycle tour of Tasmania (part of Australia) we met a French man. He was smoking a cigarette and enjoying the scenery. We asked him what is he doing in Australia and he said that he wanted to see the world on his motorcycle. When we met him he had already been on the road for 6 months. His motorcycle was a Honda 150cc overloaded with luggage. This proves as you have stated several times - that you can tour on any bike! Keep up the good work. Best wishes from Australia.
Thanks for sharing this story, Evan!
I'm preparing for a solo motorcycle tour (after doing some with friends) this summer and you have been a real inspiration. Thanks for the great videos! Grtz
Glad to help, Steven!
Thanks Pavlin, this applies not just in biking but life in general, thanks for sharing. Has made me consider prioritising a few things for my self in the short term and making sure I get out on my bike a bit more often.
Glad to help!
I love your realistic mindset 👌 i really like all your video's by the way. Have a good day my friend
Thank you!
Pavlin you have made my day
You speak with experience and your heart
Keep doing what you are doing as you do it well

Thanks, I will!
Great advice as always pavlin.those two o nuggets of wisdom really resonate with me-and don’t cost a penny!!
I’m 67 years and have been thinking about traveling from the U.K. down to southern Spain…. You have given me the inspiration I needed
Go for it Steve, I'm planning on hitting the road myself when I get things better organised at home.
Glad to help guys!
@@roadwarrior8560 thanks road warrior!….after more than 30 years without owning a motorcycle and now after one year back in the saddle I’m considering a two thousand mile round trip from the U.K. to southern Spain. I keep having doubts as to whether it’s too ambitious on a first long distance attempt!?
What’s your story?
@@steverussell9340 If you find it's too ambitious after you started, you can always go home or modify your trip. For example, I once planned a five month thru hike on the 2650 mile long Pacific Crest Trail, but injury stopped me after two months. Technically this hike was a fail, but I still got to hike 850 miles thru the Cascade Mountains. Best Fail EVER! It was still a memorable and life altering trip. If you travel solo, who cares if your planned itinerary changes?
Love your wisdom brother you saved me alot of bad investments and im still learning :)
Glad to help!
So true and simple. Another great video.
Thanks for watching, Marko!
So true. Thanks for the video. Great stuff.
Thanks!
Dear Pavlin, this video contains a lot of wisdom and great advice! Thank you. Always good to see you on your videos.
Any time!
Although I am a novice in motorcycle touring, but combined with my actual use, I found a 150CC off-road motorcycle in China (not the kind of professional sports tool). Enough for me to traverse any place worthy of adventure and souvenir. Including highways. 150CC means that the motorcycle is relatively light (138KG), and 3.32 gallons of fuel is enough for me to travel 279.6 miles on any road. And it doesn't cost a lot of money.
Fair enough!
@@motorcycleadventures Buying a motorcycle in China including a maximum 150CC does not need to pay additional taxes, you only need to buy very cheap insurance. In fact, another very important problem is that the quality of motorcycles larger than 150CC made in China is very unreliable. For example, within 10 kilometers of a brand-new motorcycle, the brake system is detached from the frame, and the motorcycle frame has an irreparable structural fracture within 2,000 kilometers. That's why I'm reluctant to buy a Chinese motorcycle over 150CC.
Excellent review as always Pavlin, great real world advice
Thanks for taking the time, Peter!
Love your videos!! Keep them coming buddy! Ride safe and take care, Darin from Calgary, Alberta Canada
My pleasure, Darin!
Excellent video, Pavlin! Eye opener, thank you! :)
Any time!
Fortunatley my wife support my trips. The only thing i have to make sure is to inform her every 2 o3 3 days that I'm fine - fair enough. Over the many years I travell I learned another lesson: Less is more. The more stuff you take with you, the more you have to be careful not to lose it. I had to learn that the hard way. Planning is good to get an idea of whether the trip and visit of the places is feasible in time. But you shouldn't stick to it slavishly: things often turn out differently than you think or you find an unplanned beautiful side route: be open to the unexpected
Thanks for sharing!
my 1st trip was in 1993 with a vfr 400 from Greece to Bulgaria :) plastic jacket / sport shoes and back pack !
Thanks for sharing!
I really like your no BS approach! Keep it going.
I will, thanks!
Thank you, my Friend. Recently I've been enlightened that my glaucoma may cause eyesight problems as I age. Today I am 68. In 2006 I rode the adventure of my life. Left Key West FL after 56.652 miles 178 days visiting 49 States (I like to say I hold the record from Key West to Prudhoe Alaska and back, mine was just the longest) I returned to Key West a changed person. I tell people the same thing just save some money and go. Recently purchased a T700 spent money getting it ready for another multi month adventure, then I got the word about my eyesight. I felt the next adventure was doomed. I just watched this inspirational video seemed you were speaking directly at me. The planning has started I will leave Key West 4/30/2024 for possibly my last but for sure my best adventure yet. Thank you Friend.

Great! Good luck on your future adventures, Tom!
Haha, love your rants Pavlin. I really hope that You get to Magadan. Epic to do it and even more epic to do it while no one else do it. To see the inside in these times, with Your own eyes, hear the people on the street. A possibilities to make a documenrary while doing Your ADV. Hope to see you on the trails some day and have our favourite drinks ☕️🍺🤌 Keep it up!
Cannot wait to start!
Great video and advice. I love your videos! Keep it up.
Thank, Ryan!
The information and advice you give is priceless, alot of my riding friends spend time and money on there bikes and gear not riding. When we do ride together they always ask me, when are you going to accessorise your bike, i don't answer them i just send them a link to your channel.👍
Cool! Thanks!
Absolute golden advice!! I cannot take a long trip just now, so I am travelling just this weekend, on my Suzuki bandit 650, which is definitely not new, I am spoilt for choice on places to go and roads to ride. Adventure awaits me.
Enjoy your trips!
Great video, and good advice as always. Thank Pavlin.
Any time!
Hi Pavlin, words of wisdom…wishing you all the best on your next adventure…can’t wait…
Thanks, man!
Precisely my life in the last 10 or more years.
Not even an accident that left my foot in a pretty bad condition has stopped me from going finally on my first camp on my motorcycle.
Good channel, good advice and keep riding. 💪🏽
Thanks for watching, Pedro!
I enjoy your videos very much. In answer to do or not to do… I have learned that it is easier to find one excuse for doing your trip instead of a 1000 reasons for not doing it. Keep up the great videos. Ride safe. Alex, Italy.
Thanks for sharing, Alex!
Thank you for making all of us live and enjoy your travels, suggestions an encouragement. At 74 yrs of age I have slowed down a bit but I still continue to travel . Ride safe.
I agree. If I want to sit home - I sit home. If I want to ride - nothing else matters. And yes, small travels are as important as a big ones, maybe even more important, because they are easier to start and they give you a taste of adventure, and then you want more and more
Agree!
Love your content. Best advise ever
I appreciate that!
Thank you again Pavlin for the inspiring video. And yes you are 100% correct I will find the time will I have in abandence .😊
Good!
Beautiful. Thanks
Nice! The truth. So many of us hate the truth. It leaves us so few excuses...
True!
That’s one of the videos motorcycle companies should use to promote sales !! Bravo Pavlin !!

Brilliant best advice I’ve heard
Great video Pavlin! All true👍👍💪💪
Thank you!
You are always right Pavlin
If you say so!
Very well said and explained as normal 👏
Thanks, Richard!
Много правилно, има ли желание има начин. Има хора, които намират оправдание, има хора, които намират начин. А и няма по-добър учител от личния опит
Hats off to you, pal, as you do what you got to do and like to do regardless of sponsors and subscribers.
Respect .
I would appreciate a Bulgarian version of your channel, though. It's weird to listen to a fellow Bulgarian in English.
Great advice brother!
Glad it was helpful!
Another great video ,I have said openly or thought in my head every excuse you have given here , now I'm going to quit with my therapist and I'm going to go out for a ride! 🏍
Thanks for watching!
Yes indeed! When there is a will, you'll find the way!
Always!
Love you man!!
Thanks!
I FORGOT TO ADD THAT I AGREE WITH EVERYTHING YOU SAID..GOOD VIDEO
Thanks, man!
Hey, Pavlin. Thanks for being a true traveler. Not surrendering before the pressure.
I myself was born in Siberia, although I do not live there for 10 years already and probably will not be able to visit my homeland for quite some time.
One of my most interesting motorips was the one to Siberia and back in 2020 and the other to Balkan region in 2021.
And I remember Bulgaria as one of the most iconic, beatiful and great countries I visited what so ever.
My favorite photographer, the late William Henry Jackson (1883-1942), had wanderlust. He traveled the USA shooting pioneer era photographs for the US Geological Survey and also the early railroads. In the late 1800's, he photographed the Siberian Railroad System and scenes of Siberia while traveling with the "World's Transportation Commission". Many of these early images of Siberia still exist and some can be found online. Jackson's out-of-print autobiography, "Time Exposure", is worth searching out.
@@L--Z Indeed, old Baikal railroad is still exist and actually functioning. It was built somewhere on the edge of 19th century. I loved to go for a hiking to that part of Baikal. The road itself is probably 80-100km long, not that much, but sightseeings are very beatiful, and all the railroad tunnels built more then hundred years ago adds up. :)
@@lessgrep Excellent! This area sounds beautiful, I will search out current images of your homeland. Hello from Seattle, near the Cascade Mountains, where abandoned railway tunnels from abandoned mining operations make great hiking destinations as well.
Always no BS. Great episode.
Excellent insight!
Thanks, Phil!
Hi Pavlin, I loved that vid as it is so much to the point. I´m surrounded by man my age owning a bike telling me constantly that they can´t go for a trip (no matter if it´s short or long) due to "reasons". Some might be valid, some are definitely excuses as you mentioned. They envy me when I´m telling them that I plan a trip, go for it or came back from one, but the next thing they tell me is that they had "obligations" cos otherwise they would have joined me for sure (another set of excuses). So they go on dreaming of "once doing" the trip they always wanted to do or go on watching youtube vids about motorcycle trips. My travel companion is such an example when he turned 50 a decade ago he bought a nice GSX 1250 FA and always dreamed about doing trips. But the only trips he managed until we became acquainted some 2 years ago have been the nearest surrounding of where he lifes. I told him that - when he is old and in a rest home the only thing he´ll have left are the memories about the trips he has done, but if he hasn´t done any of his "dream trips" he´ll regret it at this point in life. Even worse - he´ll not having any chance to catch up on what he missed. That may have triggered him somehow to use his "garage queen" as originally intended. Last year we went to Croatia (Jandranska Magistrale). He learned a lot about motorcycle travel, packing gear etc. - improved over the winter months what needed improvement and this year we´ll go for the second half of the Jadranska down to Dubrovnik, Mostar etc.. Some can be saved, some will dream until their earthly existence. Stay safe my friend.
Thanks for taking the time, man!
Good point. Interesting to listen non commercial point of view of motorcycling.
Glad you like it!
Now that is an excellent video Pavlin. So true and honest. I want you to know, that you have my full support and support of many more subscribers, for your next trip, to Russia. It is a beautiful country.
And for all those people, who don't want to watch your channel, just becouse your next trip......well, maybe you are better without them at the end of the day. Mixing politics and travel is never good. As you said many times, good people are everywhere, and in Russia as well.
Take care
Thank you for the kind words and for the support, Matjaz! Good luck on your trips!
Thanks Pavlin, in order to achieve anything you first have to want it. I think I prefer an adventure with no plan and only a vague sense of a destination.
Also it's better to travel alone than with the wrong companion.
Whatever works for you! Thanks for sharing!
Good information thank you.
Any time!
Superb advice!!! 😂 ... Im in my late 50's (female) and just started motorbike riding - who knew shrug! 😂 but immediately I was drawn to adventure riding. I now have a ktm 390 adventure. Not bad to start out on I think!! Enjoying your vids. Thank you. I have created a life style around work that allows me to ride! Im originally from UK but now live in Australia and im half Hungarian! I believe wherever you are treat people with respect. I will watch your travels. ... Subscribed ... Thumbs up! Like your humour
Thanks for sharing your story!
Thanks Pavlin. I have the will And I’ve just returned from a weekend in Wales from Ireland. However, I do not have the free time very often. That is why I appreciate even the short trips. :-)

You have worked hard for your all goals.
Yes, I did!
Excelent! So true 👍🏼👍🏼
Good!
Well, free time does cost me a lot at the moment :-) When I started following your channel I had nothing better to do than caring about my motorcycle and travel with it a lot. I'm glad I did this. Now we're expecting twins and that means no more motorcycling at least for a few more years due to lack of free time and increased responsibility 😀
Do whatever is good for you!
Twins sound like a different adventure. It wont be long before tiny dirt bikes are in order.
Agree, time doesn't cost at all and the same time it is the most precius thing we have :) Ride safe!!
Absolutely!!
Yep ! You’re right Pavlin !
Keep us aware 😉
I will, thanks!
If I spend less time on social media, how can see this video and write this comment? 😅 Just kidding ! 😂 Nice and inspiring topic! ❤
