Revisiting Duelling & Quidditch in Harry Potter Game before Hogwarts Legacy

- Hogwarts Legacy will see a return of Quidditch & Duelling Club along with various other side activities. But do you know that both of these have been a part of Harry Potter Games before.
In this video we shall take a brief look over how Quidditch & Duelling worked in Harry Potter & the Half Blood Prince Game released over 13 years ago.
This brings me so many memories of me as a child, playing this on my ps2

I actually like dueling system, where on PC in this game you draw patterns for skills. To the left and then to the right is levicorpus and up and down 2 times is expelliarmus. It felt good tho
do you think a system like dribble moves on 2k or skill moves on fifa would work? meaning flicking the right stick would give different spells
@@kdburner7356 I believe thats the way it worked on consoles for half blood prince and order of the phoenix. It felt good as well. One problem was it made it feel like the spells were very limited.
@@Kevin-jo5zf maybe splitting up the uses of holding down L1, L2 etc so that they’re not all done by flick of the stick.
like flicking up would give you a spell, but L1 and up would give you a different one. which would get mind boggling actually nvm😂😂 only way they can do it i reckon is having a certain number of spells you can use at a time and make them rotatable, like an arsenal of spells you can change around in the room of requirement when customising mid game
I think that we will be able to “equip” 4 spells and use them and change the hot keys anytime. You can see HUD a little in that leaked video
I miss the Pottermore duelling system. People follow the line and draw the spell and highest accuracy wins.
That game had the most cheesable dueling system ever. You could just stunnlock opponents by using expelliarmus and than deal damage till they stand up.

Hlaf blood Prince was honestly my fav hp game.. the dueling mechanism was pretty cool

The duelling controls for this game was really genius imo. For consoles, making it tied to specific motions of the right analog stick was pretty interesting. After memorizing the different motions, it became intuitive
It was an innovative idea for that time. Don't know why they dropped it in later games.

Potion making in Half-Blood Prince game was my favorite thing about this game. And seeing bits of Potionmaking from SoP, makes me sad that we wont see it again.

Though there are bad reviews for this game, I actually enjoyed it a lot. Sure, the graphics were bad even for 2009 when this game was released. The dueling was fun, Quidditch was ok.
there is a dedicated quidditch game for harry potter, I used to play that a lot, that was so much fun, I still haven't completed harry potter deathly hallows part 1 and 2 game, rest as far as I know I have completed all parts till half blood prince and the quidditch game, man the good old days, even the dueling was fun and roaming hogwarts and finding treasures/ cards.
The Quidditch World Cup, I played it so much but would lose my shit with it as the difficulty got so hard lol

The half blood prince game was so good on PC I remember finishing it in one afternoon after my mom bought it for me. Honestly the later games get a lot of crap but I always thought they were really fun.

The game had so much potential but I felt like they worried so much about exploring rather than story and experience. Yes - I loved exploring the castle, but when I think of Hp games I felt like half blood prince did a better job in terms of lessons, quidditch and dueling
oh my god, i remember when this game was released, and my parents bought me a copy for ps2, it was my first hp game, i cant believe its over 13 years. Recently i played it on my pc, and it was incredible. I still love potions and quidditch parts. It also incredible, that after finishing the story of the game you can still investigate Hogwarts. Also i love the deathly hallows part 2 game, its quiet interesting and dinamic〜(꒪꒳꒪)〜

Quidditch hasn't been officially confirmed. We've seen plenty of hints towards it though.
I feel like it'd be an obviously bad choice to not put it in, unless they wound up not finding a good mode of gameplay for it. They essentially need to make an entirely separate game within the game itself to make it worthwhile and not a chore.

Mark my words, Quidditch won't be in the game, if it was they would have made a big deal about. And i understand, it would take a lot of work to implement.
Official FAQ on their website has a question involving broom flying. They say you can use the broom to travel more efficiently and that there are some broom flying races.
Nothing about the Quidditch. I think they won't include it. Otherwise they would advertise it somehow. We will get to see a Quidditch game, possibly. There is a hint of it in the gameplay trailer, maybe there will be some cutscene or something like that, because we see a girl in a... Ravenclaw costume on a broom flying near the Stadium, but it could be also a cutscene for the race, so who knows?
@@gonzaloc4711 if they already stated that you will be able to travel around using the broomsticks then quidditch would not be impossible. The flying mechanics have already been figured out and they could then integrate some type of tournament style side quest involving quidditch
I love the dueling system, but it's sad that Hogwarts Mystery players many of them are very resistant and even don't like to accept Magic Awakened either

I wonder how Hogwarts Legacy will handle Quidditch. Every Harry Potter game just made it Superman 64.

worst quidditch ever. you can fly only using mouse and there is no free fly.
I think they limited the Quidditch mechanics to not get so deeply involved with a minor plot activity of the story. It's "Half-blood Prince", not "Quidditch World Cup 2.0".
Although I wished they did make QWC 2.0 😅

Why? It's so awesome. It's basically 3D soccer. Is it because you can't grasp the point system? The snitch ends the game and adds 15 points to the Seekers team. The Bludgers and Beaters are specialized additions to the soccer concept to make things interesting. Risky = interest.

Now since they have given us a broom for roaming the world I highly doubt Quidditch would just be flying through the stars but let's see.
Hopefully if they introduce quidditch in the game, they let us be something else too Not just a seeker
@@O.M- The most logical choice for next-gen console be that you can choose what position you want and the game mechanics change depending on what position you're playing on the field
