When are you doing the 8 speed swap? I am looking into doing it because I too have the crap box 65RFE. I'm about to do a cam and FBO, do you think I'll be fine as long as I'm not doing a ton of racing?
For a while yeah, I beat the crap out of my 6 speed. I bought it with 87k miles (completely stock) and built it from there and never touched the trans besides converter. Put a stall in it, big cam, full bolt ons, and do burnouts pulls non stop and it just finally let go at 172k
@@Shooff3.4 That's not bad, honestly. I would like to figure out a way to swap a 6-speed Tremec T-56, but I just feel like tuning would be a nightmare.
@@Shooff3.4 Probably, I know a few people have done it. I just feel like it would be more fun banging through gears. I don't feel like it would be crazy expensive to do because the transmission is $3500, the bell housing kit is $500, cross-member $200-$400, etc. It would probably be like $6500 for the whole swap. Also, please make a detailed video of the 8-speed swap because no one has done that yet.
