Fun fact: according to Colin they actually had been working together in improv on and off for 9 years before his first Whose Line appearance, he felt he did really badly and wasn’t opted to come back again, they shot a couple episodes in New York and Ryan asked that they give Colin another chance and they did, now Colin has been on the show to this day
according to colin, he applied (I can't think of the right word, sorry) but yeah, he didn't get the gig until his third try....cause third times a charm 😮😊❤
The way they both went into the B Movie pun is an early indicator of their Strange Minds Think Alike ability that helped them work together for so long. Also - GAWD, they're practically CHILDREN
Awww, that handshake at 0:37 is so lovely :-) The beginning of an amazing partnership! Both performers had already appeared on the show alone (Colin once, Ryan 3 times) but this was their first coming together. It would then be a whole year before their next couple of shared episodes, then another year still before the two started making regular appearances (the producers were slow to spot the amazing chemistry they had!) Frankly, I was never as keen on the British performers and always loved the Americans a lot more (despite being British myself). Right from the start, Ryan was always a distinct favourite of mine. I think Colin took a longer to grow on me, possibly to find his feet fully, but once he and Ryan really got going together, wow, they became gold - the highlight of the show. It wasn't long before the two were in every single episode, and rightly so! I was so disappointed when the show got cancelled (still don't really understand why considering how great it was). I am absolutely delighted that the boys have been able to continue on the American version for so many years. I love Ryan and Colin! :-) Two of my all-time favourite celebrities, as well as Clive Anderson :-)
Still going strong 30 years later, gotta love these two! Funnily enough, apart from his first ever appearance, Colin didn't appear in a single episode without Ryan until 2014 when the latter got ill.
@@paulinegallagher7821 Yeah probably 😂 Colin has only once (prior to 2014) appeared without Ryan on WLIIA, and it was in his debut appearance. And yes Ryan appeared without Colin on numerous occasions, he was a fair bit more prolific during the UK series; Ryan appeared in 92 episodes from 1989-98, whilst Colin started in 1991 and was in 71 episodes.
B-movie has now a totally different laws of aviation, there is no way that a bee should be able to fly. Its wings are too small to get its fat little body off the ground. The bee, of course, flies anyway. Because bees don't care what humans think is impossible.
They had worked together quite a bit and were already pretty close friends prior to working on WLIIA, I believe they met in New Zealand in the early 80s, and subsequently worked together at "TheatreSports League" in Vancouver for a number of years. It was actually Ryan who pleaded with the producers of Whose Line to give Colin a second chance, because his first show wasn't his best work.
I miss Clive! I first saw this show in the comedy channel in 1989 and was immediately hooked. I loved the show because British audiences and performers are just different than American. But Ryan and drew did great and Colin ( Canadian…..) well…… he was there. 🤷🏻♂️ JK Colin is a god!!

Not to mention that they've been friends since grade school.
@@enigmalfidelity What? Seriously?
That handshake. That one, single handshake. None of us knew it, but it was the beginning of one of the greatest television bromances of all time.
Who woulda thought nearly 30 years later they’d still be doing scenes together and still be funny
30 years!? Good grief. It never occurred to me it had been so long, but you're right!
They've actually been doing improv together for around 40 years now, they first worked together in 1981.
They haven't stopped working together ever since.
The Casual Gamer absolutely, they’re going strong in 2019/2020!
They adtually have worked with each other even before this moment
They were friends in school. Literally BFF's
The way they both went into the B Movie pun is an early indicator of their Strange Minds Think Alike ability that helped them work together for so long.

Nice to know Ryan was doing the "If I was a man with X, I would be a Y" bit to represent Shakespeare from the very beginning 😆

Colin has hair
And Ryan's nose was smaller :O
It's really sweet to see them so young.

That was also the first episode that Ryan had ever missed since series 6, episode 7, which aired in *1994*.
Thats actually not true, there were episodes in the UK one where Ryan was on and Colin wasnt.
@@paulinegallagher7821 I think you misread my comment, try again…

Can’t lie Ryan is attractive
And the legend was born

I love this two Ryan and Colin funny together my favorite s
Wow! Look at the hair on Colin!
i didnt even know he had hair, i thought he was born bald

Is that from Bee Movie?
That refers to the bumblebee only (aerodynamically unable to fly), not honey bees.
Neither one knew it at the time, but they had found their best friend.

Colin was amazing in this. This definitely wasn't one of the scenes the producers felt the reason he needed to be let go for.
Best intro music of all time.
A true historical moment
Colin was 34 in this episode. That's why he still has some hair.
This was the beginning of a beatiful friendship
Relax. They're both from Vancouver and had been working together long before this first aired scene on Whose Line UK.
History in the Making
The surrealest part in this video is Colin having hair
Ugh Ryan is so pretty here. I still have a crush on him 😅
The Bee Movie but it's Whose Line Is It Anyway?
That's why they got buzzed out!
30 years and Ryan still does the same line for anything Shakespeare related lol
if it aint broke, why replace it
I like the b movie joke. Please see Seinfeld’s Dreamworks smash hit Bee Movie for more jokes similar to this
...and history was made....

JK Colin is a god!!
Ryan “Tall twink” Styles and Colin “Captain Hair” Mockrey
According to colin, they grew up together
Wait…what…Colin with hair?
The uk version is way more funnier then the US version
The UK version didn't give us Meow, Arctic Terns and Tapioca. 🙄
