Chongyun is one of those characters that I can never find an optimal reason to play, but I can find like 30 different excuses to build wacky teams around his unique utility, and that's who I love him ❤
basically, there are no off fielders who do normal attacks. i mean there are barely any off fielders tbh, mhy is obsessed with on fielders, even if they are shite. But physical carries who do off field damage that counts as normal attack would be cool, hydro apps that count as normal attack would be cool, so yunjin can be better than others in yoimiya teams. But alas....mhy sucks when it comes to kits, ideas, and balancing. Like....genuinely, horrible in innovation and kit, its all just the same shit of being a sidegrade to the other seven 4 stars they have released. Like they released sayu....just to be worse than sucrose, and werent happy so they released heizou....for the exact same spot, and then if that wasnt enough, they released lynette just for that same spot. Like why.....................why are they like this. And they do this for almost all 4 stars, and then the innovated 4 stars....are balanced so shit that they never see light of day....like candace, like sara.
c6 yunjin is still yoimiyas best support though bit better than bennett.when u use yoimiya u rly rly want a shield cuz shes a glass cannon always 1 shot away from death so bennys healing kinda dont matter. and yunjin is still alright with ayato and wanderer imo not the best but works
C6 Faruzan is crazy, you are basicly getting all the buffs easier, more buffs and a solid off-field dps who can use all it's own buffs. C6 Faruzan is like an anemo specific Furina.
in terms of power level increase on the respective character, c6 faruzan is unironically bigger than c6 yelan/furina/nahida/etc faruzan is not even the same character as she once was once you have c6, because no other constellation in the game, whether 4* or 5*, makes it so your ER reqs drop by ONE HUNDRED PERCENT and your personal damage MULTIPLIES BY SIX great character designing by mihoyo indeed
@@neo.3 Because faruzan doesnt have any constellations except her C6, C1-5 are all useless until you have C6 at which point you suddenly get 5 constellations worth of power. If she did the "pressurized collapse triggers on burst" stuff at C1 instead of her current useless c1 she would be so much more serviceable. Her C6 would still be crazy good but you could somewhat use her prior and C4 would help her instead of being useless till C6.
Why Neuvillette isn't always better than Kazuha: It's very simple. You play on fielders because you like them. You play off fielders to work in a team. There can be exceptions, but in general that's how a lot of people approach it. People want to play their Ayaka, or Navia, or Hu Tao, or whatever, and don't care if Neuvillette is better because they don't like him as much. Whereas that argument doesn't tend to apply to off fielders nearly as much unless players actively DISLIKE them.

@@joy7367 He's a good "I want this cleared but don't want to make an effort right now" option, but if you already have teams that let you comfortably clear whatever you want or don't care for an easy mode, he's far from needed. I think it's always best to focus on the characters you want first, or you'll just resent the meta pick you ended up pulling for. :)
This apply to Kazuha and other support too btw there are people that just don't play teams that uses anemo supports , and even for people who play teams with anemo supports , Kazuha is not the only option , he has some teams where he is the best , but there are also other teams there other (sometimes even better) anemo options

I'd personally agree with most of them, any in particular you disagree with? I could see Xingqui not having his own tier, but also think he's the best 4 star if your metric is the easiest to get to the baseline to clear with which is often what it is here.
Bennett also deserves at the top with Xingqiu honestly, both of them have different jobs that do outstandingly well in their department. Still don't know how he has this unhealthy amount of glazing to Xingqiu, but surprisingly enough he had a healthy relationship with Bennett from the early days till now.
Xingqiu's only downside is self freeze for the initial skill cast, Bennett self pyro infuse screws up reactions and bosses/beasts can melt or vapourize your on field character. Also Bennett is getting more useless due to different stat scaling characters.
because xingqiu only got stronger after 3.0 and continues to get stronger still, bennet on the other hand started to become useless after 3.0 and gets more useless by the time with every release

Sucrose just isnt better than Kazuha to the average player though. The avg player wants grouping & dmg buff & Kazuha is the one who gets that done properly cos Sucrose can be a little more tricky to use. He talks about the avg player when he mentions Zhongli or Xingqiu but not when he mentions Kazuha which is where I find myself disagreeing. Cos when you are unable to group enemies properly or unable to infuse an element accurately with Sucrose because of her clunky 1.0 kit features, Kazuha really shines. idc how good Sucrose is, she just ISNT for the avg player. Just like Childe isn't or like how Zhongli IS!
A lot of theory crafters do this weird thing where their theoretical sucrose is c6 with favonius+ttds+hakushin at the same time with 1000 EM and 100 crit, while their theoretical Kazuha is 800 EM with iron sting.
People act like zajef talks out of his ass when he literally tests most stuff on stream in abyss and does math on stream as well. And most of these people never even use units like sucrose or beidou and just think they are not as good as he says. He even tested frickin geo mc with navia in abyss to see how good it is. Not many people test as much as he does. Most of the things he doesnt test are 5 star constellations which arent relevant for most people anyway
The problem is that his testing often results in nothing bagel takes since he only ever plays things at c0r0 then gets mad when he’s staggered once then plays way better then most people with with crap like sucrose. Hell get a faster clear with a unit he calls worse then something else and just ignores it cause he has a clear play-style preference. He just feeds into his own agenda.

Zhonglis def utility is way better than Xqs so its not fair to compare those situations. Also, many meta players dont think of zhongli as a great unit cuz defensive utility at the end of the day, dosnt help u much to get faster clears.
I don't really get who ur trying to downgrade between the two but.... Zhongli offers shield and that's it. His all res shred is weaker than a vv shred and his ult petri takes roo long to activate. Xingqiu has dmg reduction so even without shield, ur good. He has interruption resist so it makes it easier to rotate. If those are his only qualities then he'd be worse than zhongli but remember that he is hydro and his app is higher than most characters and that is coveted by dps that need to continuously trigger reactions. I've also seen him deal so much dmg with the skill using sac sword even though he is on emblem
@@laughingd4518but that res shred is a res shred of every single element, including elements that can be VV res shredded, as well as elements that youd have a hard time double swirling. Zhongli also has the best geo shield breakage in game, being increasingly important with more geo shielded enemies like the Supercomputing field generator, the centaur, and the golems. It is incredibly helpful plus the petrification is a freeze in place CC that cant be weakened like that of freeze-resistant enemies. That being the case, Xingqiu does offer more to teams he is used in compared to teams Zhongli is used in.
the thing about xingqius defensive utility is that its not enough for most players to actually stay alive, whereas Zhonglis shield is. Most players will play some kind of healer on top of xingqiu at which point you'd stay alive even without Xingqius defensive utility. So might as well play Yelan or Furina for more damage. Xingqiu can be comfy but you'd only play him if you have enough damage anyways, you just dont have furina/yelan, or you want to play all 3 of them.
Dori at c6 is genuinely a pretty good character, however this tierlist overall still sucks and he is a horrible biased “theory crafter” if you can even call him that
I think Zajef overrates xingqiu’s defensive utility. In hard hitting abyss sides (copellia) the extra resistance is usually not enough and a healer is required. At that point using a furina team tends to be more “comfy” as faster clears for me tend to lessen how perfect execution needs to be.
he is not. in national teams or Arli teams you can facetank most hits in Beny circle. No Xq against copelia you are stunlocked and onshoted pretty easily
in hard hitting abysses like copellia is exactly where it matters specially when paired with bennett oh tulpa and copellia one shots your dps while on bennett burst? not anymore i think people are missing the point of xingqiu's defensive utility, no one is saying use xingqiu as your sustain, but paired with another one you're way more tanky specially with chars like kuki who doesn't heal that much, is very noticeable when you're using kuki with xq and kuki without for example
in the video he actually mentioned xq is better with constant healing. you cant heal if you're one shotted. he keeps you from dying before you can reach your healer in a lot of the more dangerous situations, and just midigates a ton of dmg against lower stakes enemies, allowing you to spend more time on your dps and less on your healer. furina teams are actively anti comfy against bosses that can do huge hits-sure you have constant huge healing (if you're playing your team optimally) but you will almost NEVER be at 100% hp, making oneshot almost inevitable unless you master dodging

Could be my subjective view/ I don’t account for mobile players but the biggest barrier to entry in abyss for F2P/casual is DPS check. The only ones who complain about dying in abyss are people who are able to clear. This is why I think it’s low key bad advice for new players to advocate building XQ over Furina amongst other considerations like cons and weapon.
yes, and there are tricks like a ranged unit like yoimiya can avoid most of the damage frrom being off center. Ig this is a skill issue and he did say xq is better for casuals and casuals arent going to understand the boss mechanics. But it does need to be pointed out that skill in dodging and positioning can make the heavy hitters heavy missers.
I know Bennett is an absolutely amazing character, but with additions like Nahida, Furina, and, recently, Xianyun, it becomes harder and harder to continue tolerating Circle Impact (Let alone with all the new enemies that dash/teleport out of bennett's burst). Still an amazing character, but I would still knock him down a tiny peg because of circle impact. But that's just me since I know there are others who dont see the circle impact as an impactful negative factor.
On the other hand, pretty much every Fontaine unit outside Neuv and Furina LOVES Bennett, even Xianyun appreciates the pyro app for the plunge vape teams. So i cant really agree with knocking him down, especially for the Fontaine version

I suppose I shouldn't have said the circle impact flaw should knock him down a peg (or I guess a tier), but rather it's just a slight annoyance to take into consideration (as it's always has been). I disagree a ti~ny bit on your take about knocking him down. simply because there are characters that can snapshot ATK buff from Bennett, therefore eliminating the issue of circle impact. but I can see why you and some people dont want to tolerate Circle Impact, especially those who play an on-field character that cant snapshot. its a fair take, I just disagree a little bit. I personally don't see it as a negative factor. I would though if the moment I leave Bennett's field means that I dont have the buff anymore but it does linger for around 2-3 seconds. which is good enough for running back and forth strat, especially against enemy that force you to constantly do so in order to dodge their attacks.
Circle impact isn’t a real issue, people just say that because they don’t want to play Bennet. I don’t remember when they made an abyss where Bennet felt unplayable.
Been playing Beidou with Fischl, Chevy and Arlecchino and it's SOOOO fun. I've built her a long time ago but never managed her to slot her properly in a good team. But I think she has found her place now!
She never really left. Mostly that there's a lot more floors now that are singular boss, then she got a lot less popular en lieu of Shogun releasing without the on hit synergy on bursts. Pretty much always solid, safe, and satisfying counters that allow some niche minmaxing, but people tend to gravitate to other options.
My thing with Xingqiu glazing is that a lot of his positives are situationally positive. His damage reduction is good, but only really needed if you don’t want to get vaporized by Benny. His interruption resistance is good, but really only if your on-fielder also has some interruption resistance to stack it to a useful amount. His orbital hydro application is good, but only really if you attack through or right on top on the enemy. His extra hydro app every third wave is good, but it is rarely relevant since you need an equal amount of extra pyro/dendro to actually use it. Then you look at Yelan and her DMG% buff and extra raw damage in comparison is ALWAYS useful. Then you look at Furina and Xingqiu quickly becomes irrelevant. That being said, as a F2P option Xingqiu is insane, you can get him for free at Lantern Rite and he was even on Kazuha and Neuvi’s banner this last time around. Insane.

Consecrated beasts ? Duo Abyss Lector and Herald with different element ? Hydro Tulpa ? "His interruption resistance is good, but really only if your on-fielder also has some interruption resistance to stack it to a useful amount" - XQ's hyperarmor alone is enough. if it wasnt enough for you, then I have nothing to say but skill issue. like..how ? his hyperarmor is literally 0.3. the highest in the game. hyperarmor also doesn't work the way you think it is. when you stack it, it is multiplicative. so the value you get from stacking them is range from abysmal small to none (since it hard capped at 90%) says you have 0.3 from XQ and 0.5 from Cyno. it would be 1-(0.3*0.5) = 0.85 or 85% IR. if we're look at XQ alone, 1-0.3 = 0.7 or 70% IR. 70% is more than enough to keep you from getting whacked like a ball unless you play like a dumbass. @@ixirionI think this is my biggest issue with the Yelan vs. Xingqiu debate. In general: Yelan is only really ahead of Xq if Yelan one rotates and Xingqiu not. But this isn't true in most cases. And the speed lead only matters in Speedrunig or if this speed gap made you 36* (but if the difference between Xq and Yelan made you 36* the Abyss the issues is somewhere else in those teams). And i think people just look too much at sheets and ceiling DPS that most people never achive. And they overvalue the small second lead in testing too much. They don't put them into context with the amount of rotations that were needed. And most improtantly: people just ignore the standards Zajef sets on his list and apply their standards because they think their standards are the correct measurement.
neuvillette over kazuha cuz neuvillette has good aoe consolidation doesn't change the fact that kaz brings good aoe consolidation to many different teams, whilst neuvillette can only bring it to his own teams. and some players prefer playing many different teams
Layla currently is the second best shielder in the game and she works incredibly with Arlecchino. Zajef realized that he didn’t give melt teams for Arlecchino a chance in the pre-release; I don’t know why he still hasn’t recognized Layla as the decent character that she is. It’s extremely easy to keep her shield up (you can utilize a sac sword if you truly struggle, but her shield genuinely has very little downtime and can be up nearly constantly without it), she requires only about 130% ER (if even that much), and she constantly applies decent cryo. What an L take.
Xingqui is better for new accounts, but bennett just claps xingqiu for more invested accounts, and it's not even close. Zajeff's is like that one friend everybody has who uses a 2012 android phone and refuses to get a better one
Many of us thought the 1.0 characters would fall off a bit, but they have mostly remained the same or have gotten stronger (fischl Hyperloom) over time. I'm glad there's no power creep, but the game state feels very stale with the same characters being just as optimal as they were 3 years ago.
48% damage reduction and all you need is a hydro goblet and crowned E on xinqiu is nuts. Combine this with shields and it becomes nigh unbreakable. More so with zhongli.
While I get that Xingqiu is really strong, I just haven't used him in abyss for a long time now. My teams are mostly like Neuvillette, Raiden Furina, Al Haitham Spread, Childe International, heck I even try to fit in Wanderer - Chiori - Ning - Flex on lower floors if I get the chance lol. And even in that team, the flex goes to Yelan usually simply because Geo already shields me so well Only this abyss I've finally dusted him off, purely for an Arlecchino team on Floor 12. I get that XQ is really strong, but he's not the type of unit I'd build my teams around. And with the amount of chars we have these days...
He's not the type of unit you build teams around. You put him in a team because you need an off field hydro and prefer his defensive utility over what you could get from Yelan or Furina or whoever instead (or, you don't have those units). If you're already using a shield, there's a lot less reason to pick him over the alternatives.

I must disagree with c0 Xingqiu. That character has very strong constellations and it makes a big difference when you hit c6. At c0 he is not comparable at all to c0 Yelan even considering the defensive utility. In fact I would consider him pretty far from the most powerful 4 star at c0. I would rank c0 Fischl, c0 Kuki, c0 Chevy, c0 Bennett higher than c0 Xingqiu. A new player will get much more use out of those other c0 4 stars than c0 Xingqiu.

@@kakao2711 Fischl at c0 is still similar firepower in aggravate teams. It is her A4 that is doing all the heavy lifting. Her constellations are not that important other than the duration increase at c6. her c0 power considerably exceeds c0 Xingqiu in that regard. Both Fischl and Xingqiu are pretty splashable but Fischl is just a no fuss E skill while c0 Xingui has enormous ER requirements. Like he needs 50% more ER when he is not c6. His damage will be low and his hydro application at range is actually below that of Yelan. Kuki trumps them all in terms of power for a new player because of hyperbloom.
Xingchiu at C0 already is a better defensive option and a better hydro applier than yelan. Specially a new player would take more advantage of xingchiu, cause the cheaper the account investment, the transformative reaction teams becomes the better (and xingchiu is the best in those types of teams)
@cleod7439 I disagree with this. C0 Xingqiu has very steep energy requirements. Yelan has short cd on her e skill and fav bow is a free weapon. Damage and hydro application is also significantly lower. Every single constellation he has is good. Take all those away and you WILL notice it.
c6 xingqiu isnt comparable to yelan either. A skilled player doesnt need xq defensive utility. xq is only for weak players that cant clear the abyss anyways. Cuz even if they dont day, they wont have the dps anymore with how how the dps check is getting
If Hoyoverse could go back in time they would never release Xingqiu as a four star, but would instead make him a five star that needed a couple constellations to do what he does.
C6 Faruzan feels like a 5* to me. Built her as a sub dps with golden troupe which she does great (20k+ skill procs), then she does anemo dmg bonus, res shred, crit dmg buff, and battery for the whole team. Burst has 2 seconds of downtime, 6 second skill cd, crowd control, fast charged shots... what is she missing?
Had to spend 70~ pulls to get her from C5 to c6 and wasted a guarantee in the process lol but I don't regret it (partly bc a guarantee wasted to nahida is not a wasted one, but mostly cuz she actually makes wanderer feel great. If i had to make an analogy, I would say that wanderer without c6 faru is like breathing with a stuffy nose. Viable but oh so annoying
Specifically C6 Candace with Arlecchino, as C6 Candace deals AoE hydro damage by the character's normal attacks, she becomes a decent alternative for Arlecchino vape team if Xingqiu and Yelan are unavailable, plus Arlecchino can keep her infusion when off-field, you can activate Candace's AoE hydro app when swapping off-field when in Candace's burst.
I'd like to also point out how freeze (as it appears to me) has become mores valuable for other carries as opposed to cryo. Neuvillette and wanderer benefit from freeze moreso than any other character not named ayaka. Which is ironic considering a hydro and anemo carry outperform someone outside their element. This makes me think the cryo archon will either be a freeze carry or support who can freeze anyone including bosses
Xingqiu can be replaced by Yelan ,Yelan is the 5star version of xingqiu with more Dps potential. But Bennett can't be replaced by anyone,nobody can replace Bennett! You may be able to find a better buffer or a better healer but no single character can do what Bennett does(alone). And for people who are saying Bennett is getting useless,most of the characters released in fontaine need him(even Arlecchino )except for maybe Neuvillette. He can only be replaced by maybe a 5 star version of him if they release one in natlan.
Yelan can't replace xingchiu in berely any team (only in raiden national and quickbloom). You can run TTDS + tenacity/noblesse set and get almost the same amount of atk buff than a bennet, is not that hard.

I'm sorry but he is wrong that Layla is not a good shielder, she is just amazing as a shielder for Neuvi, the problem lies in trying to build her as a dmg dealer character and expect her to shield well. But building with full HP and some ER, together with a favonius sword, she is very good at her job
Works great vs. freezable enemies on Arlecchino vape, too (just don't use her burst against bosses). She's better than a lot of people give her credit for.

Argument for Kazuha in top 5: Zajef strongly overrates how much normal players, even normal abyss 12 players, understand and can manipulate enemy AI and thus underestimates how much value they can gain from easy-to-use grouping. What Sucrose provides in terms of grouping is not anywhere close to as good for the average player (even if what she provides in terms of buffs and debuffs is comparable). Kazuha and Venti are the real options for this, there aren't any others. However, it isn't necessary in every abyss chamber, and Kazuha doesn't work well with every carry, so I personally still wouldn't pick him as the overall best unit (Nahida is my choice because of how strongly she enables Dendro teams and how much they overperform at lower levels of overall account power, which is the point in progression where rankings and tier lists are the most relevant).
It really is telling how much Zajef overvalues defensive utility 50:22 He mentions how he believes the average player will take chip damage and not refresh their shields properly - this is just him projecting his playstyle on the average player. Good player and those who decide to learn how to use shielders really shouldn’t have these issues or take too much damage. Maybe this explains why he undervalues Layla as well
You are greatly overestimating the average player of this game. Mobile games are already tailored for casual play and there is simply no content in this game that requires being "good" at any capacity.

Never have built Xingqiu, Bennett and Xiangling, so my teams are always at a >80% power drip unlike anyone who has had the three mentioned in their teams and their drip automatically drops 25% with each of them.
@@lekoesic I use everything except them, have a bunch of 5 star supports and I play Raiden often even without Bennett just with Sara, Kazuha and whoever else or alternatively Chevy instead of Kazuha, it's always a comfortable abyss run without issues.
XL oppa being lower than Sucrose is an opinion. the problem with that is Sucrose has alternatives, aka Kazuha, and Xianyun. XL does NOT. no one does what Xiangling does, unlike Sucrose.
I just recently got back into Genshin after leaving in 3.5 and was wondering how much the meta has changed since then (the top two teams were Childe International and Nahida Double Hydro Hyperbloom)? What would be considered as the top two meta teams now?
Raiden, Yelan, Furina, Jean or any variation of that team is one of the best I believe and the other is literally any Neuvillette team, usually comprised of Neuvillette himself, Fischl, Kazuha, Zhongli and/or a dendro character.
Hyperbloom is still an OP braindead easy to build and use team Neuvillette and Arlecchino are pretty much at the top rn Furina is a game-changing character, one of the best if not the best 5 stars currently
The next time, it will be probably something else because it change a lot since Fontaine depends of the ennemies. Even with his explanation I don't get Kuki's position given there is a tier that would suit her so much more. Only actually really good with Dendro. But I get the argument she is THE strong character for those.
I think I can understand why Kuki is not in a really good with dendro team, but I still think she's more solid than very pog. Outside of dendro she can be played in taser or chevreuse teams with ToM set. Even in phys teams (though they are not the best) she can occupy electro-applier AND a healer slot.

Yesterday I was clearing abyss with my c6 Yelan, it was a very stressful experience having finished the whole abyss reset in only 10 minutes total.. I was very sad. After that I decided to replace her with my c0 Xingqiu, I couldn't believe how chill and refreshing it was.. It was truly enlightening having to actually fight enemies for once. I didn't have any damage, but that's fine.. he has more defensive utility than Zhongli! I think I can improve his damage, I just have to wait for the shop to reset for a Xingqiu constellation every 6 months. Oh I completely forgot, I can also claim him once a year from lantern rite! How foolish it was to get a c6 Yelan when I can have a c6 Xingqiu for free... thank you for opening my eyes Zajef.

for gaming if you make use of his HP fluctuations with the artifact set and make sure his crit rate is good, he can dps. i have him c6 though, and that makes a difference because iirc its his c2 that means i dont have to focus on ER for the healing from his Q and can just focus on ATK
That opening statement on the fundamental issue with tier lists was the best thing I've heard today. Glad to know that at least one RUclips person that covers TC has enough integrity/responsibility to publicly denounce (and act generally consistently with that denunciation of) tier lists. The whole 'tier-list meta' thing is probably my top pet-peeve about the community. I see even generally trustworthy TC people going around spouting off power-levels/tiers of characters as if there were some single universal value that applied for all situations. It only gets worse from there as you go further down the communication chain to people further removed from the actual analysis and testing done to figure out the performance of and optimize the use of characters. While talking about relative power or value of characters might be fine if it is between people who have the background knowledge and skill to come to their own conclusion based on rigorous methods (i.e. actual TC people not just 'meta enthusiasts'), as soon as you start talking about that stuff to people who aren't able or inclined to think critically about it tends to just become decontextualized dogma that leads people to make uninformed decisions. Tier lists fundamentally present themselves (regardless of the disclaimers) as universal statements about the value of the things which distracts people from the much more useful strategy of actually learning about how the character works, the game mechanics, and other relevant details so one can make a decision for themselves based on their circumstances. I really respect Zajeff for at least trying to do the responsible thing and go against this trend despite how lucrative it seems to be.
People just love tier lists because it's intrinsically a rage trigger. It's one of the most effective ways to wind people up. Tier lists are a kind of metaphorical execution of the phrase "a little knowledge is a dangerous thing"; anyone who knows enough about the game knows tier lists are fundamentally garbage, but up until that point where you still think tier lists are worth discussing or making, most of your opinions are built on surface level knowledge and thus likely useless. Tangentially related to this, the Hoyoverse app is a diseased corpse literally swarming with tier lists like flies to carrion. If you've never used it before you can literally open it and its just a wall of tier lists and purple faced gamers textually screaming at one another.

at decently invested/high invested account shes the best, she needs an account that alr got a well build healer and dps whereas xq can immedeatly work with fischl,succrose,XL, dendro traveler etc so I can see why he rates him higher but I do think that she provides more to the team with her party wide buff and sufficient app etc for many teams
yeah personally I'd pick Nahida because of how much better Dendro performs at low investment (and still good at high investment) but I think it's basically between those two, with Kazuha and Zhongli as decent choices that are a bit less ubiquitous.
Bennett is the best 4 star unit by far and Xingqiu cannot even come close. It's true that Xingqiu does a little bit of everything but he isn't specialized in anything. That's why he's never the best option in any team but rather an okay or cope option when you don't have the better units for the slot. Also it's 2024 and no one cares about the hydro application except for the ones who play cope dendro meme teams.
he doesn't do a little bit of everything, he foes a LOT of everything. like yeah he's not "specialized" in any area but it's not like he's ok at multiple things, he's incredible at multiple things. yelan has more dmg than him, yes, but not THAT much to compensate for his insane hydro app and his insane defensive utility. i don't like playing him, really, because he gets stale and i don't want to have to play him. but playing, like, an alhaitham quickbloom team with yelan or furina vs with xingqiu is very noticeably different. his damage reduction and interruption to resistance are insane and make any team much more comfortable to play bennett is similar to me in the way that i don't want to have to play him, but while he does provide an insane damage boost, he also, like zajef said, is often defensively a threat. it's almost lioe you're trading safety for dmg with him when you're playing against hydro or cryo enemies, for example. playing him against the cryo magu kenki in the current abyss actually makes it 100× more difficult
@@m_milos his comfort does not make up for the loss of 20 to 40% team dps for using him over Yelan or Furina. The longer you stay on a dangerous chamber like Coppelia, the higher your chance to die. His higher hydro application is not that useful because there is not much meta teams that benefit from having higher hydro application. His defensive utility is not good enough because Zhongli is still BiS support for many Hu Tao, Yoimiya and Arlecchino players. That's why he's never BIS for a team that needs an off-field hydro. He's at best an ok or cope option when you don't have or want to pull for Yelan or Furina. He could be very incredible if he doesn't tank the team dps for a little bit of defensive utility.
you're wrong Zajef, did I pull on Baizhu/Xianyun for Kaveh and Gaming yes lmao. I even pulled on the yomiya banner for Chevreuse! I love having options and new ways to play and most of the 4 stars give that.
I think 5 star characters at C6R5 simply just bring too much raw power to the point that it's not worth it to sacrifice that raw power for xingqiu's superior utilities anymore. It doesn't matter if Yelan have weaker hydro app compare to xingqiu when her ult does 27k per water arrow and comes in with a massive front loaded damage with C6, she clears most contents by herself before you even swap back to your pyro carry. When a unit is that bloated in raw damage it just doesn't make sense to pick Xingqiu over her anymore. Which is why a lot of whales would bench Xinqiu, his lower ceiling starts to become quite noticeable when you whale that hard, but even for whales you just can't bench Bennett.

You can buy xingchiu in paimon shop, and they give a liyue character every year. You don't need to pull in any banner to get a C6 xingchiu. The comparison of C2 yelan with C6 xingchiu dosent make sense (specially when the character have been in the game years before yelan)

I don't see the synergy between the two things you're asking about. siggewinne is a healer as far as i know and has no bearing on diluc's skill, unless you mean vaporize, and then go xq. yun jin wont really be good in clorinde teams since clorinde is like Big Keqing and probably wants dendro. ayaka bond of life weapon plus harmonic would be iffy but ehh if you want, but why melt? for ayaka if you're looking for something like that, try burnmelt ayaka with the burning set instead
@@alexd8092 sigewinne is a healer who also has a buff like yun jin but for elemental skills, so i thought diluc vaporizing her hydro with his skill being buffed would be good, especially cos he can have it up most of the time, making her flat damage have a lot of uptime (i know there is a trigger quota but by then supports will be using stuff to buff diluc and then she can use her skill again before you switch back to diluc)

@alexd8092 the multiplier would not matter as sigewinne's buff adds a flat amount, even if diluc did 0 dmg on skill she would still give it 1800 base damage, then you use multipliers like dmg% and crit to increase that
1. sigewinne only buff off field eskill dmg 2. yun jin's buff will proc normally, clorinde does NA dmg afterall (that said clorinde has little to no dmg% so its not the best synergy) 3. ayaka melt isnt that good (she can only melt 1/3rd of her burst dmg). even with finale, the atk buff is not significant because you tend to use bennett in melt teams

Faruzan C5-C6 is so drastic that it makes the constellation feel like having another 5 star on your team. It's the best way I can describe it
C6 Faruzan is crazy, you are basicly getting all the buffs easier, more buffs and a solid off-field dps who can use all it's own buffs. C6 Faruzan is like an anemo specific Furina.
in terms of power level increase on the respective character, c6 faruzan is unironically bigger than c6 yelan/furina/nahida/etc
faruzan is not even the same character as she once was once you have c6, because no other constellation in the game, whether 4* or 5*, makes it so your ER reqs drop by ONE HUNDRED PERCENT and your personal damage MULTIPLIES BY SIX

If she did the "pressurized collapse triggers on burst" stuff at C1 instead of her current useless c1 she would be so much more serviceable. Why Neuvillette isn't always better than Kazuha:
It's very simple. You play on fielders because you like them. You play off fielders to work in a team. There can be exceptions, but in general that's how a lot of people approach it. People want to play their Ayaka, or Navia, or Hu Tao, or whatever, and don't care if Neuvillette is better because they don't like him as much. Whereas that argument doesn't tend to apply to off fielders nearly as much unless players actively DISLIKE them.

I think it's always best to focus on the characters you want first, or you'll just resent the meta pick you ended up pulling for. :)

I'd personally agree with most of them, any in particular you disagree with? I could see Xingqui not having his own tier, but also think he's the best 4 star if your metric is the easiest to get to the baseline to clear with which is often what it is here.
Bennett also deserves at the top with Xingqiu honestly, both of them have different jobs that do outstandingly well in their department.
Still don't know how he has this unhealthy amount of glazing to Xingqiu, but surprisingly enough he had a healthy relationship with Bennett from the early days till now.
Xingqiu's only downside is self freeze for the initial skill cast, Bennett self pyro infuse screws up reactions and bosses/beasts can melt or vapourize your on field character.
Also Bennett is getting more useless due to different stat scaling characters.

Sucrose just isnt better than Kazuha to the average player though. The avg player wants grouping & dmg buff & Kazuha is the one who gets that done properly cos Sucrose can be a little more tricky to use. He talks about the avg player when he mentions Zhongli or Xingqiu but not when he mentions Kazuha which is where I find myself disagreeing. Cos when you are unable to group enemies properly or unable to infuse an element accurately with Sucrose because of her clunky 1.0 kit features, Kazuha really shines. idc how good Sucrose is, she just ISNT for the avg player. Just like Childe isn't or like how Zhongli IS!
A lot of theory crafters do this weird thing where their theoretical sucrose is c6 with favonius+ttds+hakushin at the same time with 1000 EM and 100 crit, while their theoretical Kazuha is 800 EM with iron sting.

It's funny how when they talk about Zhongli, defensive utility is so important but when Xq is in the equation suddenly it doesn't matter.
Zhonglis def utility is way better than Xqs so its not fair to compare those situations. Also, many meta players dont think of zhongli as a great unit cuz defensive utility at the end of the day, dosnt help u much to get faster clears.

Zhongli offers shield and that's it. His all res shred is weaker than a vv shred and his ult petri takes roo long to activate.
Xingqiu has dmg reduction so even without shield, ur good. He has interruption resist so it makes it easier to rotate. If those are his only qualities then he'd be worse than zhongli but remember that he is hydro and his app is higher than most characters and that is coveted by dps that need to continuously trigger reactions.
I've also seen him deal so much dmg with the skill using sac sword even though he is on emblem

Zhongli also has the best geo shield breakage in game, being increasingly important with more geo shielded enemies like the Supercomputing field generator, the centaur, and the golems. It is incredibly helpful plus the petrification is a freeze in place CC that cant be weakened like that of freeze-resistant enemies.
That being the case, Xingqiu does offer more to teams he is used in compared to teams Zhongli is used in.
the thing about xingqius defensive utility is that its not enough for most players to actually stay alive, whereas Zhonglis shield is. Most players will play some kind of healer on top of xingqiu at which point you'd stay alive even without Xingqius defensive utility. So might as well play Yelan or Furina for more damage. Xingqiu can be comfy but you'd only play him if you have enough damage anyways, you just dont have furina/yelan, or you want to play all 3 of them.

I think Zajef overrates xingqiu’s defensive utility. In hard hitting abyss sides (copellia) the extra resistance is usually not enough and a healer is required. At that point using a furina team tends to be more “comfy” as faster clears for me tend to lessen how perfect execution needs to be.

i think people are missing the point of xingqiu's defensive utility, no one is saying use xingqiu as your sustain, but paired with another one you're way more tanky specially with chars like kuki who doesn't heal that much, is very noticeable when you're using kuki with xq and kuki without for example
in the video he actually mentioned xq is better with constant healing. you cant heal if you're one shotted. he keeps you from dying before you can reach your healer in a lot of the more dangerous situations, and just midigates a ton of dmg against lower stakes enemies, allowing you to spend more time on your dps and less on your healer. furina teams are actively anti comfy against bosses that can do huge hits-sure you have constant huge healing (if you're playing your team optimally) but you will almost NEVER be at 100% hp, making oneshot almost inevitable unless you master dodging

Could be my subjective view/ I don’t account for mobile players but the biggest barrier to entry in abyss for F2P/casual is DPS check. The only ones who complain about dying in abyss are people who are able to clear. This is why I think it’s low key bad advice for new players to advocate building XQ over Furina amongst other considerations like cons and weapon.
yes, and there are tricks like a ranged unit like yoimiya can avoid most of the damage frrom being off center. Ig this is a skill issue and he did say xq is better for casuals and casuals arent going to understand the boss mechanics. But it does need to be pointed out that skill in dodging and positioning can make the heavy hitters heavy missers.
I know Bennett is an absolutely amazing character, but with additions like Nahida, Furina, and, recently, Xianyun, it becomes harder and harder to continue tolerating Circle Impact (Let alone with all the new enemies that dash/teleport out of bennett's burst). Still an amazing character, but I would still knock him down a tiny peg because of circle impact. But that's just me since I know there are others who dont see the circle impact as an impactful negative factor.
On the other hand, pretty much every Fontaine unit outside Neuv and Furina LOVES Bennett, even Xianyun appreciates the pyro app for the plunge vape teams. So i cant really agree with knocking him down, especially for the Fontaine version

I disagree a ti~ny bit on your take about knocking him down. simply because there are characters that can snapshot ATK buff from Bennett, therefore eliminating the issue of circle impact. but I can see why you and some people dont want to tolerate Circle Impact, especially those who play an on-field character that cant snapshot. its a fair take, I just disagree a little bit.
I personally don't see it as a negative factor. I would though if the moment I leave Bennett's field means that I dont have the buff anymore but it does linger for around 2-3 seconds. which is good enough for running back and forth strat, especially against enemy that force you to constantly do so in order to dodge their attacks.
Circle impact isn’t a real issue, people just say that because they don’t want to play Bennet. I don’t remember when they made an abyss where Bennet felt unplayable.
Been playing Beidou with Fischl, Chevy and Arlecchino and it's SOOOO fun. I've built her a long time ago but never managed her to slot her properly in a good team. But I think she has found her place now!
She never really left. Mostly that there's a lot more floors now that are singular boss, then she got a lot less popular en lieu of Shogun releasing without the on hit synergy on bursts. Pretty much always solid, safe, and satisfying counters that allow some niche minmaxing, but people tend to gravitate to other options.

My thing with Xingqiu glazing is that a lot of his positives are situationally positive. His damage reduction is good, but only really needed if you don’t want to get vaporized by Benny. His interruption resistance is good, but really only if your on-fielder also has some interruption resistance to stack it to a useful amount. His orbital hydro application is good, but only really if you attack through or right on top on the enemy. His extra hydro app every third wave is good, but it is rarely relevant since you need an equal amount of extra pyro/dendro to actually use it.
Then you look at Yelan and her DMG% buff and extra raw damage in comparison is ALWAYS useful. Then you look at Furina and Xingqiu quickly becomes irrelevant.
That being said, as a F2P option Xingqiu is insane, you can get him for free at Lantern Rite and he was even on Kazuha and Neuvi’s banner this last time around. Insane.

- You do realize that they are plenty of aggressive enemy beside Coppelia that could kill you, right ? Consecrated beasts ? Duo Abyss Lector and Herald with different element ? Hydro Tulpa ?

- XQ's hyperarmor alone is enough. if it wasnt enough for you, then I have nothing to say but skill issue. like..how ? his hyperarmor is literally 0.3. the highest in the game. hyperarmor also doesn't work the way you think it is. when you stack it, it is multiplicative. so the value you get from stacking them is range from abysmal small to none (since it hard capped at 90%) says you have 0.3 from XQ and 0.5 from Cyno. it would be 1-(0.3*0.5) = 0.85 or 85% IR. if we're look at XQ alone, 1-0.3 = 0.7 or 70% IR. 70% is more than enough to keep you from getting whacked like a ball unless you play like a dumbass.

- Yeah and thats exactly what happen if you play a MELEE on-field characters. most character is the roster are melee and many range on-field character except Yanfei does not use XQ (ํYoimiya is not a range character)

- Alhaitham applies 2 instance of 1U dendro at 3 mirror stack along with his 1U Autos. Nahida applies 1.5U dendro everytime reaction is trigger, plus she's a catalyst user. both of them would give XQ a run for his money. even more so if both of them are used together. also, you don't need an equal amount of dendro. ofc, it matters in vape team but does not matter in dendro-base team. lol
- Hu Tao applies 1U Pyro with no ICD through her CA. her BB also applies 1U of pyro every 4s.
- Xiangling's Pyronado after first three spin applies 1U of Pyro without ICD.
- Klee has 2U Pyro on Jumpy Dumpty and 1U on mines, 1U on burst and 1U on additional spark, 1U on auto attack. even XQ cannot overtake her.
- XQ's extra hydro app from 3rd wave help mitigate burning in burgeon team. good luck getting rid of burning aura with other hydro. lmao

@@ixirionI think this is my biggest issue with the Yelan vs. Xingqiu debate. In general:
Yelan is only really ahead of Xq if Yelan one rotates and Xingqiu not. But this isn't true in most cases. And the speed lead only matters in Speedrunig or if this speed gap made you 36* (but if the difference between Xq and Yelan made you 36* the Abyss the issues is somewhere else in those teams).
And i think people just look too much at sheets and ceiling DPS that most people never achive. And they overvalue the small second lead in testing too much. They don't put them into context with the amount of rotations that were needed.
And most improtantly: people just ignore the standards Zajef sets on his list and apply their standards because they think their standards are the correct measurement.

Layla currently is the second best shielder in the game and she works incredibly with Arlecchino. Zajef realized that he didn’t give melt teams for Arlecchino a chance in the pre-release; I don’t know why he still hasn’t recognized Layla as the decent character that she is. It’s extremely easy to keep her shield up (you can utilize a sac sword if you truly struggle, but her shield genuinely has very little downtime and can be up nearly constantly without it), she requires only about 130% ER (if even that much), and she constantly applies decent cryo. What an L take.

Many of us thought the 1.0 characters would fall off a bit, but they have mostly remained the same or have gotten stronger (fischl Hyperloom) over time. I'm glad there's no power creep, but the game state feels very stale with the same characters being just as optimal as they were 3 years ago.
Fischl doesn’t work that well as a hyperbloom trigger (speaking from experience) but the Golden Troupe set was a great buff for her
48% damage reduction and all you need is a hydro goblet and crowned E on xinqiu is nuts. Combine this with shields and it becomes nigh unbreakable. More so with zhongli.
While I get that Xingqiu is really strong, I just haven't used him in abyss for a long time now. My teams are mostly like Neuvillette, Raiden Furina, Al Haitham Spread, Childe International, heck I even try to fit in Wanderer - Chiori - Ning - Flex on lower floors if I get the chance lol. And even in that team, the flex goes to Yelan usually simply because Geo already shields me so well
Only this abyss I've finally dusted him off, purely for an Arlecchino team on Floor 12.
I get that XQ is really strong, but he's not the type of unit I'd build my teams around. And with the amount of chars we have these days...

You put him in a team because you need an off field hydro and prefer his defensive utility over what you could get from Yelan or Furina or whoever instead (or, you don't have those units). I must disagree with c0 Xingqiu. That character has very strong constellations and it makes a big difference when you hit c6. At c0 he is not comparable at all to c0 Yelan even considering the defensive utility. In fact I would consider him pretty far from the most powerful 4 star at c0. I would rank c0 Fischl, c0 Kuki, c0 Chevy, c0 Bennett higher than c0 Xingqiu. A new player will get much more use out of those other c0 4 stars than c0 Xingqiu.

@@kakao2711 Fischl at c0 is still similar firepower in aggravate teams. It is her A4 that is doing all the heavy lifting. Her constellations are not that important other than the duration increase at c6. her c0 power considerably exceeds c0 Xingqiu in that regard. Both Fischl and Xingqiu are pretty splashable but Fischl is just a no fuss E skill while c0 Xingui has enormous ER requirements. Like he needs 50% more ER when he is not c6. Like well beyond 200% ER with a Favonius Sword. God help you if you do not have a R3 Sac Sword or Favo Sword. His damage will be low and his hydro application at range is actually below that of Yelan. Kuki trumps them all in terms of power for a new player because of hyperbloom.
Xingchiu at C0 already is a better defensive option and a better hydro applier than yelan.
Specially a new player would take more advantage of xingchiu, cause the cheaper the account investment, the transformative reaction teams becomes the better (and xingchiu is the best in those types of teams)
@cleod7439 I disagree with this. C0 Xingqiu has very steep energy requirements. Yelan has short cd on her e skill and fav bow is a free weapon. Damage and hydro application is also significantly lower. Every single constellation he has is good. Take all those away and you WILL notice it.
c6 xingqiu isnt comparable to yelan either. A skilled player doesnt need xq defensive utility. xq is only for weak players that cant clear the abyss anyways. Cuz even if they dont day, they wont have the dps anymore with how how the dps check is getting
If Hoyoverse could go back in time they would never release Xingqiu as a four star, but would instead make him a five star that needed a couple constellations to do what he does.

C6 Faruzan feels like a 5* to me. Built her as a sub dps with golden troupe which she does great (20k+ skill procs), then she does anemo dmg bonus, res shred, crit dmg buff, and battery for the whole team. Burst has 2 seconds of downtime, 6 second skill cd, crowd control, fast charged shots... what is she missing?
Had to spend 70~ pulls to get her from C5 to c6 and wasted a guarantee in the process lol but I don't regret it (partly bc a guarantee wasted to nahida is not a wasted one, but mostly cuz she actually makes wanderer feel great.
If i had to make an analogy, I would say that wanderer without c6 faru is like breathing with a stuffy nose. Viable but oh so annoying

Specifically C6 Candace with Arlecchino, as C6 Candace deals AoE hydro damage by the character's normal attacks, she becomes a decent alternative for Arlecchino vape team if Xingqiu and Yelan are unavailable, plus Arlecchino can keep her infusion when off-field, you can activate Candace's AoE hydro app when swapping off-field when in Candace's burst.
@@neilgondra7379 + Candace buff Arle NAs as well so she have a pretty decent synergy as a buffer as well.
I'd like to also point out how freeze (as it appears to me) has become mores valuable for other carries as opposed to cryo. Neuvillette and wanderer benefit from freeze moreso than any other character not named ayaka. Which is ironic considering a hydro and anemo carry outperform someone outside their element.
This makes me think the cryo archon will either be a freeze carry or support who can freeze anyone including bosses
Xingqiu can be replaced by Yelan ,Yelan is the 5star version of xingqiu with more Dps potential.
But Bennett can't be replaced by anyone,nobody can replace Bennett!
You may be able to find a better buffer or a better healer but no single character can do what Bennett does(alone).
And for people who are saying Bennett is getting useless,most of the characters released in fontaine need him(even Arlecchino )except for maybe Neuvillette.
He can only be replaced by maybe a 5 star version of him if they release one in natlan.
Yelan can't replace xingchiu in berely any team (only in raiden national and quickbloom).
You can run TTDS + tenacity/noblesse set and get almost the same amount of atk buff than a bennet, is not that hard.

I'm sorry but he is wrong that Layla is not a good shielder, she is just amazing as a shielder for Neuvi, the problem lies in trying to build her as a dmg dealer character and expect her to shield well. But building with full HP and some ER, together with a favonius sword, she is very good at her job
Works great vs. freezable enemies on Arlecchino vape, too (just don't use her burst against bosses). She's better than a lot of people give her credit for.
A C4 Layla also opens up a cool team with Nahida, Diluc and Barbara that lets you Melt, Vape, Burgeon and Burn.
Building her damage is only really worth it in mono-cryo, but you are right, she is the second best shielder if we ignore max stack Thoma.
Kirara allows for more flexible rotations in Aggravate compared to Yaoyao

Zajef strongly overrates how much normal players, even normal abyss 12 players, understand and can manipulate enemy AI and thus underestimates how much value they can gain from easy-to-use grouping. What Sucrose provides in terms of grouping is not anywhere close to as good for the average player (even if what she provides in terms of buffs and debuffs is comparable). Kazuha and Venti are the real options for this, there aren't any others. However, it isn't necessary in every abyss chamber, and Kazuha doesn't work well with every carry, so I personally still wouldn't pick him as the overall best unit (Nahida is my choice because of how strongly she enables Dendro teams and how much they overperform at lower levels of overall account power, which is the point in progression where rankings and tier lists are the most relevant).

Never have built Xingqiu, Bennett and Xiangling, so my teams are always at a >80% power drip unlike anyone who has had the three mentioned in their teams and their drip automatically drops 25% with each of them.

I just recently got back into Genshin after leaving in 3.5 and was wondering how much the meta has changed since then (the top two teams were Childe International and Nahida Double Hydro Hyperbloom)? What would be considered as the top two meta teams now?
Raiden, Yelan, Furina, Jean or any variation of that team is one of the best I believe and the other is literally any Neuvillette team, usually comprised of Neuvillette himself, Fischl, Kazuha, Zhongli and/or a dendro character.

Even with his explanation I don't get Kuki's position given there is a tier that would suit her so much more. Only actually really good with Dendro. But I get the argument she is THE strong character for those.
I think I can understand why Kuki is not in a really good with dendro team, but I still think she's more solid than very pog. Outside of dendro she can be played in taser or chevreuse teams with ToM set. Even in phys teams (though they are not the best) she can occupy electro-applier AND a healer slot.

Yesterday I was clearing abyss with my c6 Yelan, it was a very stressful experience having finished the whole abyss reset in only 10 minutes total.. I was very sad.
After that I decided to replace her with my c0 Xingqiu, I couldn't believe how chill and refreshing it was.. It was truly enlightening having to actually fight enemies for once. I didn't have any damage, but that's fine.. he has more defensive utility than Zhongli! I think I can improve his damage, I just have to wait for the shop to reset for a Xingqiu constellation every 6 months. Oh I completely forgot, I can also claim him once a year from lantern rite!
How foolish it was to get a c6 Yelan when I can have a c6 Xingqiu for free... thank you for opening my eyes Zajef.

for gaming if you make use of his HP fluctuations with the artifact set and make sure his crit rate is good, he can dps. i have him c6 though, and that makes a difference because iirc its his c2 that means i dont have to focus on ER for the healing from his Q and can just focus on ATK
That opening statement on the fundamental issue with tier lists was the best thing I've heard today. Glad to know that at least one RUclips person that covers TC has enough integrity/responsibility to publicly denounce (and act generally consistently with that denunciation of) tier lists.
The whole 'tier-list meta' thing is probably my top pet-peeve about the community. I see even generally trustworthy TC people going around spouting off power-levels/tiers of characters as if there were some single universal value that applied for all situations. It only gets worse from there as you go further down the communication chain to people further removed from the actual analysis and testing done to figure out the performance of and optimize the use of characters.
While talking about relative power or value of characters might be fine if it is between people who have the background knowledge and skill to come to their own conclusion based on rigorous methods (i.e. actual TC people not just 'meta enthusiasts'), as soon as you start talking about that stuff to people who aren't able or inclined to think critically about it tends to just become decontextualized dogma that leads people to make uninformed decisions.
Tier lists fundamentally present themselves (regardless of the disclaimers) as universal statements about the value of the things which distracts people from the much more useful strategy of actually learning about how the character works, the game mechanics, and other relevant details so one can make a decision for themselves based on their circumstances.
I really respect Zajeff for at least trying to do the responsible thing and go against this trend despite how lucrative it seems to be.
People just love tier lists because it's intrinsically a rage trigger. It's one of the most effective ways to wind people up. Tier lists are a kind of metaphorical execution of the phrase "a little knowledge is a dangerous thing"; anyone who knows enough about the game knows tier lists are fundamentally garbage, but up until that point where you still think tier lists are worth discussing or making, most of your opinions are built on surface level knowledge and thus likely useless.
Tangentially related to this, the Hoyoverse app is a diseased corpse literally swarming with tier lists like flies to carrion. If you've never used it before you can literally open it and its just a wall of tier lists and purple faced gamers textually screaming at one another.

yeah personally I'd pick Nahida because of how much better Dendro performs at low investment (and still good at high investment) but I think it's basically between those two, with Kazuha and Zhongli as decent choices that are a bit less ubiquitous.
Bennett is the best 4 star unit by far and Xingqiu cannot even come close. It's true that Xingqiu does a little bit of everything but he isn't specialized in anything. That's why he's never the best option in any team but rather an okay or cope option when you don't have the better units for the slot. Also it's 2024 and no one cares about the hydro application except for the ones who play cope dendro meme teams.

i don't like playing him, really, because he gets stale and i don't want to have to play him. but playing, like, an alhaitham quickbloom team with yelan or furina vs with xingqiu is very noticeably different. his damage reduction and interruption to resistance are insane and make any team much more comfortable to play
bennett is similar to me in the way that i don't want to have to play him, but while he does provide an insane damage boost, he also, like zajef said, is often defensively a threat. it's almost lioe you're trading safety for dmg with him when you're playing against hydro or cryo enemies, for example. playing him against the cryo magu kenki in the current abyss actually makes it 100× more difficult

@@m_milos his comfort does not make up for the loss of 20 to 40% team dps for using him over Yelan or Furina. The longer you stay on a dangerous chamber like Coppelia, the higher your chance to die.
His higher hydro application is not that useful because there is not much meta teams that benefit from having higher hydro application. His defensive utility is not good enough because Zhongli is still BiS support for many Hu Tao, Yoimiya and Arlecchino players. That's why he's never BIS for a team that needs an off-field hydro. He's at best an ok or cope option when you don't have or want to pull for Yelan or Furina. He could be very incredible if he doesn't tank the team dps for a little bit of defensive utility.

I think 5 star characters at C6R5 simply just bring too much raw power to the point that it's not worth it to sacrifice that raw power for xingqiu's superior utilities anymore. It doesn't matter if Yelan have weaker hydro app compare to xingqiu when her ult does 27k per water arrow and comes in with a massive front loaded damage with C6, she clears most contents by herself before you even swap back to your pyro carry. When a unit is that bloated in raw damage it just doesn't make sense to pick Xingqiu over her anymore. Which is why a lot of whales would bench Xinqiu, his lower ceiling starts to become quite noticeable when you whale that hard, but even for whales you just can't bench Bennett.

I don't see the synergy between the two things you're asking about. siggewinne is a healer as far as i know and has no bearing on diluc's skill, unless you mean vaporize, and then go xq. yun jin wont really be good in clorinde teams since clorinde is like Big Keqing and probably wants dendro. ayaka bond of life weapon plus harmonic would be iffy but ehh if you want, but why melt? for ayaka if you're looking for something like that, try burnmelt ayaka with the burning set instead

@alexd8092 the multiplier would not matter as sigewinne's buff adds a flat amount, even if diluc did 0 dmg on skill she would still give it 1800 base damage, then you use multipliers like dmg% and crit to increase that
1. sigewinne only buff off field eskill dmg
2. yun jin's buff will proc normally, clorinde does NA dmg afterall (that said clorinde has little to no dmg% so its not the best synergy)
3. ayaka melt isnt that good (she can only melt 1/3rd of her burst dmg). even with finale, the atk buff is not significant because you tend to use bennett in melt teams
