I have been trying to learn how to crochet since the start of the pandemic and could never get the hang of it…..UNTIL I tried The Woobles (thanks targeted instagram ad). I cannot recommend them enough! They provide you with all the tools and yarn to get started, and they offer both an easy-to-read printed pattern, and step-by-step video tutorials that are so detailed, you will learn it! Not only did I finally learn how to crochet, I have made so many things in just 2.5 months, including a gift of a replica of my friend’s dog (which I nailed, if I do say so myself). Plus, it’s a small, woman-owned business right now, so double incentive! (I promise I don’t work for The Woobles, I am just a crochet convert and I want everyone to feel as good as I do! ☺️)
I was starting a new crochet project and put your video on to keep me company, and I found it so funny when you talked about maybe learning crochet or knitting in the fall. For me it’s a very relaxing activity! I also like to do punch needle or macrame projects… anything yarn related. It doesn’t require thinking too hard, but ir requires the right amount of focus to keep me relaxed 😊 I’m excited to see if you enjoy it too!
Love the mindset of small things to make a bleh day better! For rainy days, I like to switch up my normal coffee routine (normally a cortado) to a peppermint mocha, and that makes the rain cozy and special instead of something to dread :)
For crocheting, I highly recommend The Woobles as a starting point! They have great videos and imo the price is worth it for starting your crochet journey.
Omg Scandal is SO GOOD. I'm 1000% not a TV series person, but I saw clips of it on Tiktok last week and long story short I'm already on S2 haha. So. Good!
I've also been searching for a calming hobby but I find paint by numbers too overwhelming... probably because of the potential for making a mess with the paint. Anyway, I discovered sticker by numbers (with a range of super simple ones but there are also much more complicated ones) which was my gateway into this hobby (or what I do when my mental health only allows me to manage something super simple). Then I found and started doing colour by numbers which I can do with wood pencils which eases my stress by not having to deal with paint. The colour by numbers also travel really well in my luggage. 😀
It's raining today, so I'm watching RUclips and doing a little cleaning, then plan to take a bath and read this afternoon as a reward ❤ I loved your little cabinet clean out. Sometimes, finishing those little tasks can just be such a pick me up to see them completed!
Rainy days can vary for me. If it's a work day, it's likely that I'll bring my laptop to bed so I can work from the coziness of my blankets, haha. But on weekends, my roommates and I tend to gather in the living room with books or TV marathons in mind. Sometimes we'll light a candle, start up a puzzle, and bake a treat (and I am definitely going to be on the lookout for those eggs!).
I'm watching a bunch of older videos of yours that I have not seen...because I had a baby and it's difficult to do anything else than look after her :D I do my skincare some hours before going to bed because if I don't then I will not have the energy to do it ;D
I used to hate rainy days until I started romanticizing them! Rainy days = cozy days for me (which can me whatever for you!) I love to read, play video games, have a spa day, and tidy up! Or if I have work, I like to grab a coffee, dress up a bit more than usual, and make it a habit to take 5 minutes in the rain under my umbrella to really just soak in the sounds and meditate)
My rainy day excuse I take it as a lazy day , rest day.. But sometimes actually i could go out regardless Visit friends Or cousins Go to dinner and a movie Go shopping in a mall And go into a Coffee shop
Go to rainy day activities: animal crossing and stardew, audiobook, and a glass of cold brew!! With a candle of course.
