For anyone wanting to ride this highway, the best part is when you start your ride from leh and then come to manali. The real strength is tested on this route.
HRTC is not yet operational, generally it's from 15th june till September mid, but it's all upon weather, nut whenever it starts I will let you, as I pass every day through bus station..
That's the big demerit of us. We know we have Switzerland like places in our own country but we want to go to Switzerland and other European countries to show off. That's a sad truth

Recently I took same route, 21 June to 26 June 2019, but this time it's totally covered with snow, I did experience this this snowfall, rain and storms, and heavy traffic due to Indian oil trucks. But it was amazing trip. Stayed two night and one day at below baralacha pass which Bharatpur.
The last time I was in Manali the road was closed , mind you it was 1988.. how times change ..fantastic vid .. wish I was there... happy travels mate..
