Sony Pictures a decade ago, which led to the little blue characters making a leap into a live-action/animation hybrid series of movies that began with The Smurfs in 2011 and continued through The Smurfs 2 and Smurfs: The Lost Village which marked their last movie appearance in 2017. With the rights having now moved to Paramount, the studio announced last year that they have several plans to reinvigorate the franchise with new movies and a continuation of the CG-animated show on Nickelodeon.
I used to own an Magic Flute film. I thought that film was alright and i don't mind that they used more screen time for Johan and Peewit characters compared to The Smurfs, since it based on their 1958 debut. These guys needs more love and appreciation like how the Smurfs do.
I also really like Smurf-tastic Journey featuring the "Smoofs". You get to see them without their hats. Region 2 sets are more awesome because not only do they release full season sets, but they also release stuff the U.S. is too selfish to put out.
I imported the smurfic games dvd to get the rare tv special and got a nice surprise. It is region free! I could play it on my non region dvd players! Not sure about the rest as I don't have them.
I mostly collect animated DVDs. I'm not a hardcore Smurfs fan. Smurfs is very nostalgic to me though. I watched Smurfs back in the mid to late 80's when I was a child so, it brings back good memories.

Exactly! A good point would be region 2 got the complete season 1 but region 1 got season 1 in parts. Same way with season 2.
That’s kinda annoying, I hope region 1 gets a complete 1-9 series including the old movies one day.
