- The Music of Nature proudly presents "Eastern Towhee," a video portrait that features exquisite footage and great sound. The video includes scenes depicting several individuals; note the considerable variation in song. The "classic" song sounds like "drink your teeeee." The call sounds like "tchweee" or "tow-weee".

DRINK YOUR TEAAAAAA!
i love listening to the individual variation my favorite is the bird at 1:45
Villa Ph D (Also the pleasing version)
My sweet iced tea :) Loved listening to beauties with my grandma.
In the South we call this a Joree. In reference to it's standard, non mating call I assume
Anybody play FF7, here? ^_^ ☕
the mourning dove sound and the cuteness of this bird is melting my heart 🥹❤
A world without birds is a world I wouldn't want to live in.
Me neither. All these birds are natural members of a forest symphony choir.
*”DRINK your TEAAA!”*
Well, this is a very British sparrow.
Thanks, I’ve been wondering who was shouting DRINK YOUR TEAAA at me in the morning
Just moved down to East Tennessee from "up nort" and spotted this beautiful gem for the first time! Beautiful bird and awesome video! Thank you!
How am I 40 years old and just now seeing one of these on the feeder? And I've heard their song all my life!
In my bird book it says that these cuties are more often heard than seen.
We can't see what we don't recognised . Same here. Lol
@@AMentorway4u I haven't seen one in years, only heard. We get their lovely songs only occasionally. Grateful for small mercies.
I'm sitting her in my yard and I have a little Towhee hopping a round, I played this for him and he keeps singing back, flown around my lap top a few times. Really cute.
He's looking for his friends. Seriously.
HOW COULD ANYONE DISLIKE THIS VIDEO!?
The people who’s backyard birds tear up their window screens to use as nesting
Probably people who hate birds because they eat everything
@@theteenagegardener And those trying to sleep past 5am.
I hear this beautiful song every morning. They live in the tree outside my bedroom window. Love this bird.
Our Eastern Towhee neighbors be sure to tell us to drink our tea all spring long and we love it! :)
Aww so cute!
Lest anyone think this is not the true sounds of an Eastern Towhee: we have one in our yard that loves eating our blueberries. When I play this video he answers it. Changes his call twice with the birds in the video.
I've been trying to identify the bird who's been calling in our yard for days. I posted a video of its call on Facebook and someone told me it's a Towhee. Great video! Thanks!
This bird call sounds like he's saying the word "liberty".
Maybe I want coffee!!!
noellana Towhee doesn't care, she just tells you what she wants, and thats tea, what the crud Towhee!?
Last year we had our first pair of Eastern Towhees stay in our garden. Every morning I would open my bedroom window and play this particular video and they would call back and come straightway!
I'll try that.
I was stressing about something and this helped me meditate on what our Creator has given us-it always does the trick to calm me. ❤Thank you!!
Just seeing it puff up its chest and trilling brought a bout of intense excitement through me... it is so cute and fluffy. XD Too bad I've never seen one in real life.
Tennessee-born and raised, in the heart of Eastern Towhee Country. I can assure you that they *are* that cute and fluffy in person.
We accidentally ended up with a Towhee that hit the window during January blizzard in Michigan! While waiting for weather to release him, play song daily - he "requests" by singing first then answering
I like the second from the last the most.
He's so cute with his "drink your teaaaaaa!" song
Beautiful footage of a sweet bird!
Aha! This is the little bugger outside my bedroom window that is so loud and persistent, and wakes me up at 5:00 am.
I've been tracking this bird for over a year!! I coule never spot it. I finally heard this morning and downloaded an app that identifies the song, then i found a nearby tree. I have honestly never seen one, heard them for years. This video validated my finding, thanks!
This little rascal wakes me up every morning around a quarter to six singing in the low part of my hedges. I don't need an alarm clock. So cute.
bird song is the best alarm clock in the world.
I hear these guys every day but they're seemingly impossible to video. Thank you much!!!
Bob Zoom I'm having the same problem, I can't get them on video either.
Beautiful little guy !! Adorable :) "Drink your TEA" ....
Beautiful video with superb audio. I really enjoyed it!
God's creation is truly amazing! Saw this beautiful bird in my own back yard this morning.
one word...lovely.
Anyone else notice the towhee do a head count at dusk....or a goodnight? Just as the sun is almost gone...you hear their short call and you'll hear it until all other towhee in the family call back. It's so cute. ❤ also carolina wrens do a head count very often throughout the day especially when a predator is coming in. I am not trying to humanize the birds but I do often wonder....❤
I have dozens of Eastern Towhees living around my house and they all respond back when I play this video for them.
The Eastern Towhee is my youngest daughter's favorite bird. I think she mostly is enamored with the song.
These videos are amazing! The quality is beautiful and the bird noises... Oh I could just put the playlist on repeat and go to sleep, lulled by their songs. I love your videos! Keep up the amazing work!
Adorable bird with a very pretty song!
Beautiful 😍
So comforting - I could fall asleep listening to this
Drink your tea, first.
This is beautiful. Thank you for sharing! Towhees have always been one of my favorites.
These have been showing up in our yard in Fairfax, VA for the past few months. I love sitting and watching them at our front door feeder, going back and forth into the shrubs. It's a new bird for me and am happy to see them around.
there is a mourning dove in the background
Alex Shi I also heard a red wing black bird
@@headlesspiper936 Common yellowthroat aswell
Bluejays too
Sounds like a beautiful place.
Simply beautiful. Great job and thank you!
Beautiful footage. Thank you for posting.
I have several in my backyard, who panhandle for peanuts. 🥜 They seem intelligent.
I have spent hours trying to identify this bird song and here it is! Thank you so much.
I spent days. Google kept on bringing memocking birds.
yes eastern towhee im glad you reminded us to drink tea especially during the cold and flu seasons here in the appalachians.
thanks to the music of nature.., is magic
What an amazing video! The clarity of the video is such high quality ... as is the sound. I love towhees! We have western spotted Rufous-sided towhees in Colorado. Thanks so much for sharing your amazing video!
They normally feed on the floor, scuffling leaves around with their feet. Fun to see!
So there is a Towhee that lives in my back yard in the scrubs. Whenever I walk my dog I play this video on my portable JBL speaker and I swear the Towhee follows us singing along the entire 20-30 min walk to and back. The only time it turns around is when the song extracts another Towhee to us.. guess it's a territorial thing.
Awesome vid👍🏾
One of these has started visiting the feeders in my yard this week. Will have to listen for its call. Very nice video showing the wide range of its song.
Thank you SO much for this series! I cannot tell you just how much I appreciate these. Watching and listening to all my favourite jewels of the forest gives me hope that winter WILL end eventually. I wish I knew how you got so close to some of these--especially the shy thrushes and warblers.
Beautiful video. I didn't know what I've been missing till I looked up a bird that was on my feeder this morning.
I just found an injured Towhee. Thankfully he came to the right person as I rescue animals quire often. They usually find me. For this reason I enrolled in Vet Tech courses to better help my rescues. It's been hard but rewarding.
I just identified this beautiful creature in my yard located in Vallejo,California. So happy!
No you didn’t. You’re confusing it with the closely related Spotted Towhee of western North America.
One came to our bird feeder today wife played one singing over cell phone and it started singing.we live in Covington VA
jusy saw one of these in my backyard, Hickory NC
Thanks for the video. I heard a Towhee in the distance.....played this.... and he was right in front of me within 2 minutes. I felt bad for tricking him, but within 10 minutes I had three of them flying close.
Great video, lighting, contrast & focus
Love these guys
Moving from Minne"snow"ta in the '70s to East Texas (which looks like Minn. except no crystal lakes), this week with unusual snow fall, I've been feeding the birds..
then I saw this little bird that's a little smaller than a Robin & I was like, "What's that"?.. so with your video, I just found out!
In God's holy word in Colossians 1:16, it says that the Lord Jesus Christ made everything.. & you & me for Himself!.. now & forever!!
they are soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo cute
All this time I thought it was trick-or-treat
I have a lot of wild rose thorn bushes growing on my property and I cleared some, then realized towhees love the undergrowth, so I have set aside areas of towhee reserves. Also get all my clearing done before spring
(in western NC)
By listening to this audio outside I actually surprisingly attracted the real bird
Nice little bird! Love your video quality ♥
beautyfull bird, great video..........
che bel canto melodioso, ottimo il video, grazie!
The towhees in my backyard love this recording!
Saw one in Butner,NC among a group of robins. Towhee, have similar but bolder colors than robins. This added a little something special to my day
Thanks for the interesting video. I saw my first towhee today here in the New Mexico mountains.
What a great video thanks you
Wow, this camera has some really good quality even 13 years ago. Nice shot!
Spotted this lil guy on a hike out in the Shenandoahs the other day, was lucky enough to run into a birdwatcher who helped my identify it
thanks for all the great videos, didn't realize I could birdwatch at home! :)
I started playing this song for my other birds..and a bunch of blue towhees started showing up..
I've been dying to know what bird that is singing a great melody in my yard 😁. Thanks for posting
Driny your tea.
"Drink your Tea!"
Awesome! This proved that the elusive bird I have been seeing is indeed an Eastern Towhee!
This bird wakes me up every morning and my dog I played it for her she went crazy
perfecto video !
Wow thanks for these videos. I am so glad I found this channel. I have a few bird sound book by Lang Elliot and I highly recommend them to others. I thought the Rose Breasted Grosbeak video was another amazing video.
Flavor FLAV!
Had these in FL panhandle. Finally had one today in my TN feeder.
Great video and amazing sharpness for an 11 year old video!!
The only few times I have seen this bird is foraging on the ground. Never see them perching. Cool video.
I played this while walking in the park and this bird flew close to me. Responded everytime :)
I have seen several. Always under the feeder, hopping with their feet to unearth food.
i have them around my yard. males don't like having each other around, but they seem to be cool with brown thrashers and, to a lesser degree, cardinals.
Very Beautiful! /KD
Lang, your l'oeuvre is superb and your conservation legacy will be substantial. Would you ever consider listing the other birds heard in this wonderful video? Many thanks!
How Lovelyyyyy
So CUTE IM DYING
💕
drink your tea!
"Flavor Flaaaaaav"
Thanks for this lovely video. I was looking for something to put on my Facebook to match the photo i took of my Towhee in Jacksonville, FL Our Eastern Towhee hops around in the Pittosporum shrubs in front of our house, sings constantly, and pecks at our door (there is a brass plate at the bottom). Towhees build their nest on the ground or near the ground, but we haven't found the nest yet. Listen to the song (Your video). This will give you an idea of what we listen to all morning. (Both our computers are right by the window.)
DRINK YOUR TEA!!!!! And I think I heard the towwee noise here in NJ.
Beginning sounds more like “Wait-for-MEEE!”
que bonito!!!
Sounds like "drink your tea"
I played this video and my husband thought there was a bird in the house, Lol
I have a female in my yard.. Southern Illinois. Never saw one before.
Drink your tea...
Looking at one of this in my yard
