@@deancontiwriter13 I like to think their story isn't finished yet. They're both alive at the end of this and there's still a bunch of seasons of Bridgerton left

I know that this is an old comment, but she very easily could’ve also been trying to wipe off the mole, because back in the day there was a fashion trend of putting makeup over any blemishes on your skin to make them look like moles. This was unfortunately linked to women who would do this to cover up the sores that would develop on their skin after being infected with syphilis. I read a lot of historical fiction, and while I’m sure in the show it was not done specifically to reference this trend, but it was my primary thought when I first saw this scene, and it made me want that Queen Mother to kick bricks
Cheat sheet: #1 Princess Charlotte, the Princess of Wales and only legitimate grandchild of George III and Queen Charlotte, died giving birth. The man weeping about it is her father, Prince George (later George IV). George and Queen Charlotte had 15 children, but only 13 survived to adulthood. #2 This period is called The Regency because George III eventually succumbed to mental illness (depending on who you ask, it could have been bipolar disorder or porphyria) and his eldest son, Prince George, had to rule as regent in his stead. Queen Charlotte still wielded a lot of power, though. #3 Charlotte's sons are all playboys with mistresses (scandalous commoners and married noblewomen) and a shit ton of illegitimate babies. The daughters are all spinsters because Charlotte and George kept them under lock and key (way too protective). In the show, though, they just make the girls seem like it was their idea to not get married rather than the king and queen's mistake. #4 When Princess Charlotte died in childbirth, there were no legitimate grandchildren to inherit the throne. Queen Charlotte forced some of her sons into marriages with foreign princesses to force them to give her a grandchild, loveless marriages or not. Two of Queen Charlotte's three eldest sons would each get a turn being king (the other died before he could), but each would die childless. The fourth son, Prince Edward, was married to Princess Victoria. They would produce the future Queen Victoria, though Prince Edward would die when she was still a baby and never get to see her success. #5 The woman inspecting young Charlotte is Princess Augusta. Her husband/young George's dad Prince Frederick died before he and Augusta could be crowned. George II's crown (Prince Frederick's dad) was therefore passed on to his grandson, George III, instead. Augusta was never queen as a result (she was skipped over without her husband alive to claim it himself), but she was mother of the king, which still had its own level of power. #6 She was not wiping off Charlotte's mole, she was checking to see if she was just wearing dark makeup. In the show, she knew Charlotte had Moor ancestry (a term for northern African people at the time), but hadn't thought it would be so obvious to see. In reality, Charlotte did very likely have a Moor ancestor, but they were from like 12 generations before her, so it would have been too diluted for it to matter in her genetics. However, the show's re-imagining of history is super cool and wonderfully inclusive! *Edited
only point of info, its Charlotte's 2 sons not three that become king after George III. George IV and his brother William IV. Their 2nd son Frederick died before his brother George IV. Otherwise excellent cheat sheet!
@@Collsy100 almost all correct except you stated that the Princess of Wales, Caroline died in child birth. This is not correct. Her daughter Charlotte did. George IV was the eldest son of Queen Charlotte and George III and he married Caroline making them the Prince and Princess of Wales. They had one child, a daughter Princess Charlotte of Wales who died in childbirth along with the unborn child (this is who we see dead in the show and her father George IV is crying over her body) She therefore was Queen Charlotte and King George III granddaughter. The show was wrong to call her the Princes Royal though. This is incorrect as this title is bestowed to the eldest daughter of the Monarch and lasts a life time. Therefore, at this time, the Princess Royal was Queen Charlotte and King George III eldest daughter, also called Charlotte (confusing I know). She was married to the King of Wurttemburg but she had no children (kept miscarrying). This Charlotte's official title was Charlotte, Princess Royal and Queen of Wurttemburg. And the Charlotte who died in childbirth was her nice and was Princess Charlotte of Wales. (lots of Charlottes! We have Queen Charlotte of the United Kingdom married to King George III and their daughter Charlotte, the Princess Royal and Queen of Wurttemburg, and then in the next generation we have Princess Charlotte of Wales the granddaughter of Queen Charlotte and King George III) This therefore sparked a sucession crisis as Princess Charlotte of Wales was the only legitimate heir and therefore successor to the throne. Now that she died there were no heirs because Caroline, Princess of Wales was now too old to bear children (and divorce wasn't an option back then) so George IV line had died with his daughter Princess Charlotte of Wales, and none of his siblings (Queen Charlotte and King George III's children) had any legitimate heirs. Several sons had many illegitimate children (so didn't qualify to be in the line of sucession) and out of the 5 daughters 1 had died, and I believe 2 were married at the time of the succession crisis in 1817 but none of the daughters had any children. 3 of them married quite late in life so too old to bear children and 1 married in her 30s (the eldest, Charlotte the Princess Royal and Queen of Wurrtemburg) but she didn't have any children either (I believe she kept miscarrying). So it was up to the unmarried sons to find respectable wives and produce an heir. Which Prince Edward did and fathered Queen Victoria! So I guess it all worked out in the end.
For historical context: King George the Third and Queen Charlotte had 15 children but lost two young sons when they were only a few years old each. The princess in the coffin was their granddaughter, the only heir to the throne as the daughter of their eldest son George the Fourth (the man who was crying beside her deathbed). She died in childbirth. As for the main plot of the present day, the Queen has to find a resolution to the lack of an heir to the throne as her many children have struggled to bare children and/or have provided many illegitimate children (babies born out of wedlock). Hope this helps those of you needing clarification😊

I loved this so much more than the previous two seasons. There’s so much more depth and complexity to the characters, and the story is so beautiful and so tragic (seriously, have tissues handy). Looking forward to the rest of your reactions
5:16 They picked her because she 1. Protestant , 2. Young (that was one of George III actual requirements, he was rather overly possessive) and 3. Royal (Mecklenburg-Strelitz was only a Dukedom but she was still a princess). 4. Family connections, she was a distant cousin of George's mother Augusta.
Ya'll are in for a wild ride! I'm a big fan of the Bridgerton series, but this spin-off is the only one that has made me cry. This one was a more intense roller coaster of emotions

Thanks, Rob! Thanks, Bryce! Thanks, Zuff! 👑 I'm so glad y'all are reacting to this... because I ended up loving this series *way* more than the first two season of BRIDGERTON (which I also enjoyed, of course). But this tale, these characters... deeply resonated with me. #ReelTime #QueenCharlotte #TomVerica #QueenCharlotteABridgertonStory
It was her grand-daughter and granddaughter’s baby that died. Her son(george IV) named after her husband (king George III) was the one she was consoling that was crying next to the casket. He is the father of the pregnant princess that died. She was the only legitimate grandchild. Charlotte wanted more legitimate grandkids so their line of succession would be secure for next gen after her son George
George is being genuine in the garden but also at the end there cause yeah, he is a nice charming dude, but that doesn't change the way the whole marriage situation is sus. Charlotte stays because of what she sees in George, but in the end she is still basically marrying into a chess game: she's somewhat aware she was chosen to be a pawn in whatever the monarchy is doing, and worst part is that what bothered her in the beginning is clearly still happening and is going to keep happening, her questions are still not being answered, now not just by the palace in general but also by George. It sets the scene very nicely though, we can see George is nice (or at least has a nice side) but also see the flaws and conflicts that he will hopefully overcome
You see, King George III and Queen Charlotte had 15 children overall, but only 13 survived to adulthood, as two of their sons died at a young age. The granddaughter of the King and Queen was Princess Charlotte, the only daughter of Prince George(King George III and Queen Charlotte’s eldest son and heir)and Princess Caroline, his actual wife. By the way, King George’s mother is named Dowager Princess Augusta. She’s played by Michelle Fairley, the same actress who played Catelyn Stark from GOT like you said earlier.
I am so excited you guys are reacting to this series. It's so, so, good and it's going to take you on an emotional journey. Getting to see the backstories of these strong women, King George and Brimsley. Queen Charlotte and King George had 15 children, 2 of them passed...one being King George's favourite daughter. Can't wait for your next reactions.
It’s so interesting watching this from the perspective of people who don’t know British history so don’t necessarily know who people are and who is next in line and stuff. Really great reaction guys 😊
I just finished watching this today! So happy you guys are reacting so early! 💗I fell in love with King George the moment he stepped into that garden and smiled at Charlotte!! 🥹💕
I'm so happy you're doing this! The entire time I was watching, I kept thinking how much you guys would love it. It doesn't quite beat season 2 for me, but it's close.
The dude that was crying is her first born son and the girl that died was his only child, which makes her the queens granddaughter. She was the only legitimate grandchild thats why they need an heir or the blood line dies when they all die
I love the fact that everyone was kinda forcing Charlotte to marry George but then George himself said "the choice is up to her". Then in Bridgerton, Queen Charlotte always asks the girls (Daphne, & Edwina) If they want to marry their boys, giving them the choice entirely, like George gave her. It's such a cute subtle writing moment
I remember seeing a picture of the actor who plays young George and thinking it was Dave Franco, so (to me) that comment about him looking like a long lost Franco brother was super spot on.
The perosn who died is Queen Charlotte's granddaughter. She was the daughter of her first born son George IV. Charlotte and George III had 15 childhood and 13 of them survived to adulthood.
The inspection of Charlotte by Queen Augusta is really a statement about race more than anything. Its reflective of the slave auctions, where they were checked by buyers, whether it be if they could birth more slaves or if they were in good health, by checking their body and teeth, etc. Her wiping her face was to see if she was wearing makeup or dirty. A wild notion that was and unfortunately is still believed by some ignorant people about brown skin. The princess was hoping Charlotte wouldnt be as dark as she seemed. Thats why Charlotte was hidden before the wedding, so no one could argue it prior. Thus the blending of the courts. And why Lady Danbury made the face she did when she first saw Charlotte. She realized the only reason the courts mixed is because they couldn't whitewash the new queen and it was too late to change it.
They definitely want the king and queen to be together because they want royal babies and that's how you get them. They might have separate bedrooms, but the king would still be expected to visit the queen for conjugal visits to make an heir (and a spare, if possible).
Looking forward to seeing your reaction when you see Lady Bridgerton. I loved the Brimsley backstory and glad he got his due with a storyline. I also ugly cried at last episode. This series is WAY better than I expected. Also, thank you for doing a reaction video so soon!
The future scenes in this show seem to take place after season 2. The king and queen had 15 children. Two boys died in childhood and a daughter died of tuberculosis in her late 20s (the daughter the king was confused about in Bridgerton). They were the last three children born to the queen. (Obviously, some things have been changed for this show, as the queen apparently still has 13 living children in the Bridgerverse.)
You guys are great! Definitely Subscribing! I love your reactions and the edit of your videos and you left the good parts in! Looking forward to watching more of you guys!!🤍🤍
I think the reason why the brother seemed “weird” after the wedding is because now that she is the queen of The United Kingdom it might be inappropriate to touch and talk to her like they are on the same level now I guess I don’t know but that’s how I took it
This show break my heart ,you are going to cry so much .I love Georgie .........I never cried like this because of a show .The love between them is GREAT.

Queen Charlotte and King George had 15 children, 2 of them passed...one being King George's favourite daughter. Can't wait for your next reactions.
This season was so GOOD !
By far my favorite season of Bridgerton. Charlotte and George are now my favorite couple in the whole series 🥰
YESSSSSSS ong just started yesterday im SO EXCITED to watch with u guys!!
I M SCREAMING!! I WISHED FOR THIS REACTION SO HARD.
So excited y'all are getting to this so quickly! I really think y'all will really like it 🥰❤
YES I WAS HOPING U GUYS WOULD REACT TO THIS
dude the editing lately has been so good XD idk who has been doing them lately but their killing it haha
I'm excited for you guys!!!! I honestly really enjoyed this show, and I hope you guys enjoy it too!!!
The Princess that died was Charlotte’s grand daughter which is why her son keeps crying because that’s his daughter and grand kid that died 😩
It’s so interesting watching this from the perspective of people who don’t know British history so don’t necessarily know who people are and who is next in line and stuff. Really great reaction guys 😊
Thank you for posting things so consistently fr 🫡
I’m so mad I binged it before you guys I didn’t even think to wait 😭
The editing/reaction is EXACTLY how I feel when I'm interrupted repeatedly
Sending ❤️ to you Bryce
I watched this with the goofiest grin on my face, thanks guys! I didn't have anyone to watch it with
This Show is amazing, you guys are gonna LOVE it!!!🥰🥰🥰🥰
Glad to see you watching QC. This was the reaction I needed.
I just finished watching this today! So happy you guys are reacting so early! 💗I fell in love with King George the moment he stepped into that garden and smiled at Charlotte!! 🥹💕
The editing when Zuff interrupted Bryce took me out. All of the editing for this video was so good
I'm so happy you're doing this! The entire time I was watching, I kept thinking how much you guys would love it. It doesn't quite beat season 2 for me, but it's close.
this show made me in tears!!!! i just finished it and im so happy yall are watching it right away yayyy
Ooh I haven’t even seen a trailer for this so I’m super excited
The dude that was crying is her first born son and the girl that died was his only child, which makes her the queens granddaughter. She was the only legitimate grandchild thats why they need an heir or the blood line dies when they all die
I love the fact that everyone was kinda forcing Charlotte to marry George but then George himself said "the choice is up to her". Then in Bridgerton, Queen Charlotte always asks the girls (Daphne, & Edwina) If they want to marry their boys, giving them the choice entirely, like George gave her. It's such a cute subtle writing moment
YESS i love this show already even though I haven’t finished s2 of bridgeton yet lol
The Princess who died was actually Queen Charlotte’s son’s daughter (so her granddaughter). She died in childbirth at 21 (her baby died as well).
Yes! So glad you guys stared this one so quickly, this one was the better than the other 2 seasons.
How fun to have a guys perspective on this show! You all seem authentically interested in it.
This is so good. It's probably my favorite
This show broke me! It was so good! I hope you guys enjoy it!
Oh yay! I just finished this. You will love it.
My heart sank when she switched from George to Your Majesty
27:59 George thought Edwina was young Charlotte not his daughter x
Yeah she definitely wasn’t trying to wipe off a mole…
You guys are great! Definitely Subscribing! I love your reactions and the edit of your videos and you left the good parts in! Looking forward to watching more of you guys!!🤍🤍
I was wondering if y’all were gonna watch this, so happy y’all are!
I am SO excited for you all to continue this show! Your reactions are some of my favorites!
I think the reason why the brother seemed “weird” after the wedding is because now that she is the queen of The United Kingdom it might be inappropriate to touch and talk to her like they are on the same level now I guess I don’t know but that’s how I took it
Great reaction! This series was SO GOOD!
This show break my heart ,you are going to cry so much .I love Georgie .........I never cried like this because of a show .The love between them is GREAT.
