it would have done better with a decent interior. the plastics were horrible during this time for GM, and that problem wasn't exclusive to the G6.

While Pontiac needed to tone down their styling a bit post Aztek they kinda over shot the mark a bit with the G6. It's sleek to a fault. This looks only slightly more athletic than a Honda Accord.
Also, those Oprah cars accounted for much of the first batch of G6s off the line. For those curious people who actually went to Pontiac dealers to see "the Oprah car" after the show aired most didn't have a single G6 in stock yet.

I agree that the last generation pontiacs especially the g6, grand prix and torrent, were too boring looking compared to 90s pontiacs. The mid 90s grand prixs I think were the happy medium in between the garish grand am looking body cladding and the sleek sided g6.
Although I still see a fuckton of g6s on the road, it was their highest selling car right up to the end.

@@futtbuckthe Oprah winners still needed to go to their local Pontiac dealer to get their car, I don't think that most of them got the car on the giveaway day. Though I've seen a photo of audience members posing in front of lot of g6s with red ribbons so I'm not sure if I read the truth about needing to pick it up from any Pontiac dealership, and maybe all the 200+ g6s were given directly to the viewers that day.

Almost forgot about these. They don't really exist anymore in 2024.

Had this car.. exactly like this tester. Same color, wheels, pano roof and black leather. Worst car I ever owned hands down… bought an 05 model in 2010 and traded it in 2012. I’m willing to bet it sat in a shop more than in my driveway.

The grand am was a roomier car and more comfortable.

I have a grand am I love it so much. Half the time I want to just sit in my car after I drive it. I could sleep in the driver's seat no problem. I'm looking to get a g6 I was hoping it would be similar in how comfortable it is

Grand Am also has like 10x more personality than the G6 imo. It felt much less like a prettier malibu. The G6 feels just like a 2008-2012 malibu, even though it feels nicer than the 2004-2007 malibu.
