Same! I decided to just buy a Belle dress since I want to cosplay and dress up for Halloween as an adult! I dress up for the kids and take pictures for parents too and it’s so fun. I’ve worn it for 4 years back to back and honestly just recommend buying one good costume to use every year over and over that’s pricier and can be used to cosplay for cons then one for 50 or so USD which will get ruined so fast with how cheap it is.

So I just bought a pink striped shirt a red sweatshirt to tie around my waist, and a bandana with strawberries on it. They're all things I can actually wear. And I crocheted an apple bonnet for my baby and she already has an outfit that would match it, and I got her an apple shaped teething toy. I know you care and wanted to read all that lol. But yeah it's all reusable. Someday I'd like to invest in more complicated cool high quality costumes tho 🎃

Full body suit is hot should be something one would learn by living in a state that has literal deserts in it. If you're in charge of a child you should be checking in on them on hot days, assuming the kid is too young to take care of themselves. I don't blame the person for f*cking up. Everyone underestimates the heat every now and again, but to write a bad review as if it's the product's fault is just silly and shows a real lack of self awareness. If this was a learning experience, it seems like they didn't learn from it.
The Texas part doesn't even make sense. I've lived in Texas my entire life and every Halloween is always cold and/ or rainy. Many years I cried as a kid on Halloween cuz my mom made me wear a jacket over my costume or because we had to go home early because of the rain. They definitely just didn't know how to turn the fan on or didn't realize there was a fan cuz honestly our education IS pretty bad in Texas so you do get a lot of people who live with turned off brains here, so they were basically suffocating in a plastic tube and overheating on their own body heat bouncing back at them because they didn't turn the fan on... and then they blamed everything but themselves, including nonexistent hot weather in the end of October... Certified Texan move tbh.

I live in south Texas and the slightly chilly weather for Halloween this year is the anomaly. Two days before Halloween the heat index was in the triple digits. And the air temp is supposed to be back up in to the upper 80°s by this weekend. Hot, humid, sticky, mosquito-filled Halloweens are the norm here. My kid is a teenager and we always planned for a costume that works in hot weather, but I usually had a backup in mind or a way to alter the costume to make it work for chilly weather. My kid is 14 and we’ve only had to alter the costume to account for cold weather twice in his whole life. And one of those times was this year. I don’t know why some parents down here don’t plan for the weather and costumes that work in the heat. I’ve had to tell my kid no to so many cool costumes because they would only work in cold weather or in some heavy air conditioning.

I don’t even think it’s because the costumes are cheap. I am pretty certain the way Sonic(the character) is designed, it’s basically impossible for a human to dress up as him and look good. 9/10 times they’d look like the original movie Sonic.

That's a costume you'd wear for a haunted house or to scare trick or treaters on your own property where you'd have control of how you appear in the light. Certainly you wouldn't be doing any drinking, eating, or just hanging out with that full face mask and those gloves. Idk, maybe it's because I love Halloween and dressing up in costumes in general but it just seems like it's obviously not a party costume so I don't see the worry about the lighting you'd be in or any dust and cat hair.

A few years ago I vowed to stop buying halloween costumes that are exclusively costumes. I spent $60 this year on a normal dress and accessories to dress as Weird Barbie. I didn’t even have to freeze to death while trying to pass off the plastic garbage bags that Spirit Halloween sells as clothes.
That's awesome! I hate how much single use clothing has become the norm. There's almost always something fun and creative you can make with stuff you already own or can get from the thrift store. Even if you buy new stuff for a costume, choosing items you'll actually use multiple times a year is so much less wasteful and actually benefits you overall. And you won't look like a carbon copy of everyone else who went to spirit Halloween 2 weeks ago too

Hell, if I've never seen it in person; through friends, family, work, or whatever, I usually don't buy it because I just assume everything is a cheap piece of crap online. You gotta get into cosplay and Renaissance faires. There's always an anime convention, videogame convention, or ren faire going on, assuming you live in the US and are able to travel. Also local cosplay meetups and... if you have an open mind and are into animal costumes, there's furry conventions and meetups.

I used a wig that my best friend got but didn't want anymore and I had sewn a cute maid apron years ago. So I finally fulfilled my anime inspired maid costume which worked out very nice! However, I am going to also use my Huntress cosplay from Dead By Daylight, everybody loves it and it is quite comfy to wear.
I recently started to get into cosplay and reading reviews really helped my confidence knowing that I'd get a good costume and thankfully my first time went really well

We actually got 2 of the red eye demon morphsuit for our 2 kids to wear under their actual costumes, mostly for the eyes, and my husband said the same thing about the glasses being weird and bulky and where the heck are you supposed to put a big battery pack when you’re wearing a skin tight suit with no pockets😂😂 The kids did like the extended fingers😂

As I'm too old for trick or treating, but don't have kids of my own yet, I've been spending my Halloweens dressing up and wandering the neighborhood spooking people. This year's edition is a canine skull mask with a gigantic cloak that I've worn for many a Halloween night.

And it’s hard to do anything with the fingers, like getting the candy. I saw 2 other people wearing it too so I guess it’s kinda popular?

I used a wig that my best friend got but didn't want anymore and I had sewn a cute maid apron years ago. So I finally fulfilled my anime inspired maid costume which worked out very nice! However, I am going to also use my Huntress cosplay from Dead By Daylight, everybody loves it and it is quite comfy to wear.
