i feel like marco definitely couldve touched 11”. i think he was leaning forward too much which actually kills vertical. if he doesnt lean forward so much then he probably gets that extra 1/2 inch or even a full inch more
The standing reaches are definitely off. How did yall measure standing reach. Did they fully extend their reach by raising their shoulder and lowering the other just like how they reach when full jumping or was it even shoulder height because there will be few inches from their true vertical.
Standing reach is definitely a subjective measurement and can be measured differently for sure. Everyone was asked to wear shoes and reach as high as they could, but you can never fully police this, especially with 50 people. What was more important was that everyone was measured the same way, which we tried to do!
Their jumping reach is how high they touched when jumping. Their standing reach was how high they touched without jumping. When you subtract those two numbers you get their actual vertical 🙂 I have the results on my website if you’d like to see!
Thank you for hosting Duy! I had so much fun and I cannot wait for the next one :)

@@dtvolleyball wow, where is this located
@@dtvolleyball I’m 14, 5,6 with 35inch vert
@@dtvolleyball I can touch 9,7ft basketball rim and get my over volleyball net
quality vid
marco and duy crossover lets gooooo!!!!
I'm new to volleyball, is there like an easy way to test your vertical without one of those poles with all the bars they used?
You could use a basketball rim as a reference since they are usually 10’ but that will only be a guess. Or sticky notes on a wall
Great video
Duuuuude ur calves are crazyy

just asking i have a 23 inch (roughly) vertical at 13 what are some good exercises to jump higher
If you watch Part 2 all of the winners go over some of the exercises they do. You have plenty of time to increase your vert!
imagining yuji nishida here 😂😂
how would you get their shoe sizes right in advance though? lol couldn't possibly have all sizes sitting around.
the shoes were mine hehe. It was just for the video, they chose the colour and size! I’ll be making a follow-up video giving it to them!
Can you use meters too pls?
Are you guys from Alberta? I just remember playing a club called Sas
We’re from Edmonton!
Where are you guys from? Like which state do you guys play in? 🤔🏐♥️
We’re from Alberta, Canada
@@dtvolleyball dang that’s sad…🥲 to far🥲
what meen "jumping reach 10'5"? I am not understand this number

and we dont understand wahat your saying too😂😂😂😂😂
Marco the goat!
Thank you!!
Why not the same height for the girls since they want to be equal!
50 random asian athletes, all yall asians tryna be like yuji nishida i swear xD
not a single one could do a correct 3 step approach, i'm dying, he said volleyball players
You do not need a three step approach when testing your vertical🙂↔️
😂😂 even in volleyball, you don’t have to stick to a 3-step approach
As a short player I now use a four step approach since in my opinion its was better.
Can I be a new challenger????
It was an open invite! I hope to run more events in the future!
is 10,4 good for 13 year old
