I can't believe, but it really works. Thanks man. Edit: I still have problem with turning the TV on and off with power button. Sometimes it works, but in most cases it doesn't. Has anyone had a similar problem? Is there any solution for this? Edit 2: Poor quality batteries proved to be a problem. If someone has a similar problem, I recommend replacing the battery.
The remote control uses ir (infra red) to power tv on and off so, make sure you’re pointing remote at ir location of tv. After powering on, the Bluetooth portion of remote takes over for controlling the rest of tv functions. Thank you for this RUclips video, very helpful and simple.
ATTENTION! Even if your Samsung TV doesn't support voice control over TV it will perfectly work in apps like RUclips, Browser etc. The feature still must be activated in the service menu though.

I have a UE50TU7020KXXU and followed the instructions in your video, I didn’t have the Samsung smart control option so I set the fms option to true as suggested by others on here. That's a great informative video. Samsung Bixby sucks anyway. Doubt you'll miss the voice recognition part. Unless you are using another Android TV on top. So regret not buying a Samsung TV.....
Hi thanks for the video, I have a TU7000. I've followed all your steps except from one, there is no option for Samsung smart control in the service menu on my TV. Can you tell us how to use original Samsung Bluetooth remote to control Chrome Cast w. Google TV. When clicking the Home Button or any of the Netflix, Amazon, Disney, Billboard buttons on Samsung Remote it takes you to Samsung SmartHub program. We would like these buttons to instead activate the same channels but via CCGTV. Can you please tell us how to perform the button remapping away from Samsung SmartHub?
Hi thanks for very useful and informative video! I just connected my smart remote to another Samsung smart TV 2018th model and it works flawlessly. Butt the pairing process is kind of strange and inconsistent. And I had the same issue when I tried to connect the remote back to my new TV. So basically what happens is when I press those two buttons (return and play buttons) simultaneously for a few seconds they initiate Bluetooth searching on my TV and sometimes it finds the remote just instantly and sometimes it says that nothing found and try to press those two buttons blah blah blah. What I've noticed is after activating the search process if I press any button except the power button it connects to the remote immediately. Is this normal?
Good question! I've noticed it too. I'm gonna pin your comment it could be helpful for others too. When you press those two buttons on your remote control it turns On Bluetooth visibility of your remote control. So other Bluetooth devices can see it (for example I tried to connect it to my laptop but unfortunately it does nothing). And it also sends out signal to your TV via IR to start Bluetooth searching. The time of your remote visibility is limited so simply press those two buttons for 3-5 seconds to initiate Bluetooth search and when it starts but can't find anything in 2 seconds press those 2 buttons again and it will connect immediately.
There's no Bluetooth adapter in your model. You can only use IR smart remote which looks exactly the same but without voice features. The link in the description.

You are an absolute life saver I have a Q65 Samsung and I recently purchased the ru7100 and not a fan of the remote it came with, I want to buy the high end Samsung remote, it should work right? Should I test it with my high end remote first? And I don’t want to use the good remote I have now because it’s stationed for the living room but I do want to get the same remote to use it for the ru7100 for the bedroom, thanks!
To be 100% sure go into the service menu and turn on Bluetooth (if it's off) and turn on Voice control and Samsung smart remote control. After that turn off your TV and enter the service menu again. If your settings didn't change and everything is ON (it may go Off on its own if features are not supported) then you're good to go. Your TV will definitely work with the same remote control I was using in the video. All the links in the description below the video. If you want the same remote like on your Q65 TV then just give it a try. You're not gonna brake anything.
2013Electronics&Computers unfortunately I tried accessing the service menu with no luck I thought it might work because it is the latest model 2019 4K with Bluetooth for speakers & headphones and Apple AirPlay 2 but my guess is that they patched this because as you said they don’t want us using the high end features any other guesses or ideas in if I can make it work, thank you!
Hi Electronics&Computers. Thanks for a great and informative video. I have a problem, however. When I go to the options menu, my new Samsung TV does show the "Samsung Smart Control" bar. How can I get it to show, or how can I work around it to successfully pair my remote with the TV? Thank you!
Great video, so the only reason I want to upgrade to the smart remote is for voice recognition to do things like voice search on youtube. So even though voice recognition and smart control are options in the service menu on your TV, the voice control still doesn't work on yours? I wonder why are they even options on your menu then? The remote control uses ir (infra red) to power tv on and off so, make sure you’re pointing remote at ir location of tv. After powering on, the Bluetooth portion of remote takes over for controlling the rest of tv functions. Thank you for this RUclips video, very helpful and simple.
ATTENTION! Even if your Samsung TV doesn't support voice control over TV it will perfectly work in apps like RUclips, Browser etc. The feature still must be activated in the service menu though.

Can you tell us how to use original Samsung Bluetooth remote to control Chrome Cast w. Google TV.
Thank you for the awesome video. Do you know if the old remote would still work also? Would both remotes be able to be used still? Thank you.

However, what I do have is an option on the main menu called "FMS" which opens up a "Factory App Menu". In this menu if you go to "Option" --> "MRT Option" you get a number of settings, one of which is called "com.samsung/featureconf/bt_profile_bt_smart_control" which was set to "false". I updated this to "true" and powered off. After powering back on and pressing the smart remote it now pops up with a message saying searching for bluetooth items but does not find anything.
So I seem to have made one step forward, but still cant connect the remote :-(
@@gavinrawson5164 Look like that model doesn't have a built-in Bluetooth adapter.
@@ElectronicsComputers It does according to the Samsung website... "www.samsung.com/uk/tvs/uhdtv-tu7100/UE55TU7100KXXU/" It states that it has BT4.2.
Will this work with samsung TU7020 4k smart tv (2020)?
Samsung TU series has slightly different menu. On the main menu select "FMS" which opens up a "Factory App Menu". In this menu if you go to "Option" --> "MRT Option" you get a number of settings, one of which is called " featureconf bt_profile_bt_smart_control" which is set to "false". Very useful, thank you!!! Would be good to know how to activate the voice recognition on the 7100 model!
Happy to help! Voice recognition perfectly works on some apps like RUclips etc, just activate it in the service menu. Bixby and voice control over your TV is not gonna work for this model.
Read all the questions and answers on the TU7100 series set up but I'm still a bit confused over:
a) The exact service menu code to input on the stock remote to gain access on this model.
b) Will the option menu in service mode display 'mrt' or 'fms' as the first option to select?
If you could clear that up and what options to change from there that'd be great. Haven't taken delivery of the TV but it's on its way and want to be sure before buying the SSR. Thanks in advance. J
@@ElectronicsComputers I had a feeling that was the case. I've gone through my settings to connect my AirPods to my bdrm TV (UN43 NU7100) I don't think it has BT capability to even connect via BT with AirPods. Honestly if I had noticed that, I probably would have chose a different model Samsung. My 65 inch Samsung on the wall in the living room already came with this exact smart remote in this video. My only problem I've had since I bought that tv is it can be finicky as far as the battery compartment. Many times, even when I first bought the TV it would become unresponsive to turn the TV on. I have to pop the battery compartment open and give the batteries a spin and put it back on and then it works again. Even with new batteries. For a minute I was hopeful to do this with the other TV but...I think I'm out of luck:) But this is a great fix for those that can do it:

I think alots of people gonna be looking for my comment, I just got the UHD 70” Samsung tv from Costco for $500 when it was on sale. Model UTU7000 and the menu doesn’t look like this and the secret menu code isn’t the same neither, I scrolled throw bunch of comments to find out how to do it. So here it is, u press “mute, 1,8,2, Power On” then go to FMS and go to FMS Again! Then u will see a full range of menu u just need to scroll all the way down to where it says Bluetooth Smart Control false and change it to true, do the same with voice recognition then close the menu and turn off the tv turn it back on and pair wa-la, bam worked for me. Thanks guys for the comments who helped me finally figured this out after a sweaty 40 minutes

I have the UN75NU6080FXZA. I was able to get to the service menu by "Power Off TV then press: Mute + 1 + 8 + 2 + Power". I have updated the settings but it still isn't working. BT Version is showing "- - - -"
Unfortunately, this model does not have a built-in Bluetooth. The only option for you is to use the same remote but without voice features. That remote works via IR sensor (the link in the description). Looks like Samsung decided to save 2$ bucks on that feature which is strange because it's not a cheap model...
I got the TU700D , the "mute+1+8+2+Power" works
Can you make voice control work with Samsung ru7100 (2019) or tu7000 (2020) if you can then I will appreciate it
Only voice search works in some apps.
@@ElectronicsComputers ok thanks
Hi, I have a new TU7000 tv. The Info+Settings+Mute+Power sequence does not bring up any menu. Just powers on the tv with the usual app bar. Any idea?
Check out the comments I've answered many times. And your model has slightly different menu. I'll give you the instructions for your model tomorrow.
@@ElectronicsComputers Thank you for the quick reply!! FYI, since I can't get that menu to come up, I went to All Settings but unable to find anything regarding FMS or factory app options. I greatly appreciate your help! :-)

Thanks for introducing me to the service menu. At first I couldn't enable the Bluetooth because I was pressing enter. You need to press right arrow on remote.
Unfortunately I don't think my tv has the hardware as the Bluetooth address won't turn on although the Bluetooth option is now showing on the TV sound options 😞

Is Samsung UE557102 supported? Thanks!
try to activate Bluetooth option in your service menu. If you'll see a MAC address of your Bluetooth adapter then it will work. Officially this model doesn't have Bluetooth adapter but again it depends on the revision and the country where that models sells.
I do have a MAC address, and also had connected bluetooth speakers to the tv. So i might buy one remote and give it a try. Thanks
@@borky1987 in that case if you also see smart remote option then it will definitely work.

Just press the 123 button on your remote and enter the channel you want. Or press the channel button to open the channel list.
Can we pair it other brand bluetooth remote with Samsung smart tv plz reply
I've never tried it, but you can pair Samsung's remote with other devices, like computers, etc. So, I assume that with some models, it might be possible in theory. The links for the original and third party in the description.
