I feel like everybody has had the same frustration in FM - when you have a player that you think is worth a certain amount but the AI just simply won't bid anywhere near it. Instead they continually low-ball and it feels unfair compared to the price it would cost to buy other players. This is a thing right?
Well recently, whilst playing a network save with some members of my discord, we noticed a member (shout out wlal) consistently manage to sell players for big prices. Was it some insane transfer hack? Was it some amazing tip? Well... this is how it's done!

For the other way, when buying a player, add 10% sell on and then exclude it from negotiation, add 10% profit from next sale then exclude from negotiation and set the value to £0 and suggest terms. Whatever they suggest, offer exactly half of that and they will accept.

The Neves deal was just a bad time to sell him I think as in Feb. But the method was still there. Which was shown on Bruno's transfer.

Offer out just under value, reject offer.
Offer out top end or above value until you get the negotiable offer. Then you can get above the value
It's all about finding the ceiling without being too greedy. On my Wrexham save I managed to sell a couple of newgens with value of 60m for 100m. So really does work
It’s actually really easy. Just offer them out a little above their value and if no one bids then do it again but this time target the clubs that are interested specifically, which forces them to make a decision and are more likely than not to make a negotiable deal

I’ve also found once you accept a bid, you can offer them out for higher again and sometimes another club will offer that much. Then accept the higher offer and reject the previously accepted offer. Then do it again until you fail to get a new offer as you have already accepted the highest offer so wont scare of teams.

This is a decent tutorial but when you get the negotiable offers it is actually much more effective to counter with semi-locked (the yellow lock) fees since that forced the AI to show their hand. Otherwise they’ll just keep trying to lowball you until they lock the offer.
I’ve been able to get 50+m for players valued at below 10m by doing this. It’s especially effective when managing low reputation teams
Yeah it’s a little bit contextual/situational isn’t it as with anything like this, I often use the yellow lock and you’ll see that they don’t come back at all with it etc. I haven’t found it to be much more effective but it’s worth using a combination of both and factoring that into your routines for sure.
Used your method in the latest DB and was able to sell a player that was transfer listed for 475K for 850K. Thanks for the video

Just tried this ony save. Had an average left back with decent (but not amazing) potential. I'm in the championship and he was wanted by a few Prem clubs. Priced between 4-6 mill. I started a low ball offer out of 2.5m. they all offered, rejected. Moved it up until I offered him out for 10 mill which teams offered and my board accepted so had no chance of negotiating. But very pleased with the outcome. Thanks for the tip 👍

Does it have an impact on the price if the "wanted" icon comes through transferlisting the player?
I do this all the time 😂 sometimes you can offer a percentage of wages to get more teams interested then start an auction that way
It worked very well, just sold Pickford for 54M to Bournemouth and Dwight McNeil for 59M to Newcastle 😅

Favourite player in season 1 was Gorka Santamaria. 27 goals in 33 league games.

Wow this is brilliant I’ve struggled so much with selling players, the AI always robs me.
Late to this vid but as I've just done a season in a Wolves save, I can conform that I sold him with one year left on his deal, to Liverpool during the transfer window for £69m pounds. That was even their first bid and no-one else got close. They wouldn't pay a penny more, so he went. Guide price was something like £58m-£64m.
Needs trying with deadline day when clubs are more desperate. See if you can drive up to silly money.

How to deal with player reactions though? "Why did you offer me out?", "Why did you reject the bid from X?" and similar. Or even worse he rejects the contract from the new club and you are stuck with an unhappy player.
Usually on the “why did you reject?” thing you can just say they didn’t offer enough and promise to accept a bid of ___. The valuations they ask for are usually way about anything you’d accept anyway.
On the last part if he’s unhappy he’s more like to accept the contract 😂 but also, defo something to consider. You’ll have to take that into account before looking to offload anybody anyway.
@@Clayts Yeah figured the first one out. It's just sometimes lets say club X bids 5 mil and Liverpool bid 1,5 mil. And then the player is annoyed I didn't accept Liverpool's bid and maybe even rejects club X. Then I'm basically screwed 🙃
Mostly I'm just annoyed I can't test the market without the player knowing. There are players I'd gladly sell for 20 mil, but if I can only get 5 I rather keep him. And there is no way to know in advance. In the end it's too easy to outplay the market anyway so maybe it's better this way.

I have tried this on touch and console, for some reason the AI doesn't operate in the same way compared to the PC version. Unless it is a player who has a high value the AI seems to always short the offer and won't go up

Nice video for newbies, this is a must have skill to play fm, I'm amazed this comes as a surprise for anyone who's been playing the game for a while.
I think it’s the specifics of the method - the general offering out and negotiating is an obvious thing but to specifically offer out at way below value is the difference. And to specifically follow this exact pattern will maximise the results.

I consider myself as a veteran, back from CM days... But what i do is vice versa, lol, starting with high offer and lowering it turn by turn :)

For me, when I sell players, since I don't need the money immediately(my club is too rich and I have no players to buy) , I negotiate and sell them for only installments, I managed to sell a player to liverpool whose value is about 40m for 94m and he wasn't even a starter for my team, now Liverpool got to pay me 30m each for 3 years 😂

Should have started off by loading the same Newcastle save up and just offering Bruno out for £50m from the off to prove it actually did anything different
Its 2 different things if u offer players for sale AND if clubs actually starts first to persue ur player, ,huge price diference
Yes - which is what this tip/method is essentially. Through offering out the player for sale way below value you are able to leverage a clubs strong interest in a way that wouldn’t be possible if you just did nothing or if you offered out at value. It’s a very subtle change but it makes a big difference in leveraging an AI clubs firm insistence on signing a player and therefore being willing to balloon the price they’d be willing to pay.
So one of the things that is talked about in this video is if the AI has the transfer budget for a big purchase.
I use a skin that shows other teams’ financials (transfer budget and wage budget) so I know exactly how much at the most they are able to pay

Great video 👍 Question though, tried signing Onel Hernandez for a fee but got beaten to his signature by another club where he signed a pre contract agreement. Where can you offer a pre contract? Just in 1st January window with players contracts expiring at end of season but can't find it anywhere.
Look for ‘approach to sign’ rather than making an offer

I just tried this and Real Madrid made a 50million€ offer for Nathan Ake at the start of the save😂
Doesn't seem to work with my lower reputation save - just got promoted with Fuenlabrada to LaLiga, but can't get rid of my backup players even close to their price (e.g. Canete suggested price is 2mil, but noone offers, since they "are only prepared to pay 875k". Same for other players - I offer them low, I get an offer from a club or two, reject, then the bigger offerings I make lead to silence from other clubs.
Same here, the problem here is that players usually angry when you transfer list them. And then force you to set certain price.
We need a guide to make players on want but still generally happy to go, which is extremely rare
Doesn't work for me, or is it just impossible to sell Man Utd players? Early in the transfer window, Everton, AC Milan and Napoli interested in Dalot. Offered out for 10mil, non-negotiable offers come in from Milan. Try again for 30mil, nothing. Went down in 2mil increments with no offers all the way back down to 10mil again when Napoli came in with a non-negotiable 8.25mil offer...

Bruh, Man City just offered my Gvardiol at 128M. And before that, Real Madrid offered Palini (AP CM) 98M.
Seems AI wanted to put all money on high rating and star player. Like my Dybala got offered 78M, but listed as 56M. Just because his standing at 8.13 rating and 5* star tho, even he's 33yo
This isn't currently working for me, perhaps I'm doing something wrong? Before watching this video I offered Pulisic out for an unspecified fee and Bayern came back with 2.5m. Then, after watching this video I offered him out for a low price of 5m and no one even came back for him.
Then I tried it with Kovacic, offered him out for 10m and managed to get his price up to just 30m, despite his market value being over 60m. Also tried this with Lukaku, started at 7.5m with hopes of getting around 40m and no one even wanted him for that price. Any tips?

Initial price for neves might we set 30 mil
And for addons set for 20 mil, for 12 months. Try it mate.

Stop using Premier League clubs. This method is best demonstrated using clubs from lesser leagues. When you can get Inter Milan to give you $76 million for Jamie Roche from IK Sirius in SWEDEN, that's a bit better example of how powerful the method is. "Look, people overpaying for players from the Premier League" is kinda akin to "I went out in the rain and got wet". In my current Schalke save, I had Chelsea want $36m for Jude Soonsup Bell. Youth player with ZERO first team experience and no caps but Benjamin Sesko can be had from RB Leipzig for $27 million. I don't think anyone with two brain cells to rub together would argue that Soonsup-Bell is better than Sesko.

Problem is your player didn't want to join Benfica. You should have gone back to the save and offered him out for 49m to see if it made any difference.

I'd be very surprised if even this (admittedly) decent method worked with players with ridiculous weekly wages, like Lukaku and Sterling at Chelsea for example.
Give that a go and see how you get on, I bet you'll struggle as much as I did to shift them......

i try to use this method in my save. it is working and other clubs do keep coming with offer. but in the process of rejecting offer, the player always want to talk about not treated fairly for some reason. after accepting the bid, the player will always reject the contract offered.
how to avoid this thing?
Lower their agreed playing time and you have a better chance at persuading them to join clubs they have no interest in initially

A 32 year old Édouard Mendy for 60 mil to spurs. They originally offered 11 mil and managed to get it extremely high up
I also sold Havertz for 200 mil to PSG and the original price they offered was 76 mil

Benfica would never ever offer that much money for a player. Our most expensive transfer was Darwin Núñez for €24 million.

So I tried this method selling Almiron, and his value was 28-34 mil but I only got £32 mil max, and every time I tried to go higher like shown they just walked away. How did you get them to negotiate higher, they wouldn’t even add in instalments

Have they patched this now so it no longer works? Selling players is nigh on impossible. If you do this method, the first offer does attract a lot of interest. But the offers that come in are usually negotiable. If you negotiate they pull out as soon as you go to his suggested value and then don't bid again. If you reject all offers and offer for higher, you get no bids. The list of interested clubs is pretty big and includes PSG, Juventus, Arsenal and Manchester United, but none of them actually bid. Player is Calvert-Lewin and he has 2 years left on his contract. I've also tried it with Alex Scott who is attracting a lot of interest anyway, but again they baulk once it goes near his suggested value and simply don't bid.
I’ve actually noticed this, that first “negotiable” offer doesn’t seem to be negotiable anymore.
The best bet to get around it is to try and incite an auction now I think but yes - it’s very tricky.

You could make them unhappy to force them out if you really wanted to.

Any ideas how I can offload Martial & Maguire? Offered them both out for 20m even offering to pay a % of wages as everytime I have previously offered them out clubs wouldn't touch their wages. Maguire rejected 34m bid from spurs, 28m from wolves and a loan to buy proposal from Atletico. Martial no one is even entertaining. I'm on PS5 playing if anyone could help thanks

You could have got 60 if you would have put 40 mil now and 1 x 20 mil in 12 months. Sometimes you can do 6 months.
No I couldn’t - I tried instalments (and everything else) by saving and reloading to test after this video
@@Clayts I do a very similar method and if I get a negotiable 20 mil. Then set it to 15 mil now and 15 mil in 6 months it works.
Yeah that’s the thing with all negotiating though, it doesn’t always work and it’s specific to the deal you’re negotiating. You can’t just say “you could have got this”, because I tested it on this deal and you literally couldn’t. Obviously asking for instalments is a thing though and you can often get more, but most of the time that’s not even better imo. I’d prefer the straight cash now, use it to get better players quicker and therein earn more by winning more games etc. and make more money in the long run anyway.

The true OGs of FM (or Championship Manager as it was called then) will remember the trick back in the day to get anyone for free: overbid by an extreme amount, and then once accepted, go back in to bid again, but put the amount to zero and then instead of saying “ok”, hit CANCEL on that screen. Magically, now you’d be paying zero dollars for anyone you wanted to sign 👍
My question is how long does it usally take?
Both these deals were done on about 6 continues I think. I didn’t cut any time out of the video - just the loading time between continues
This doesn’t work for me. My striker worth 7.5 million got offered out for 1.5m but then the teams wont bid above 2 million for him
