At 10:35 you guys were in what used to be the Emergency Room. A Scene from Backdraft the movie was filmed there. The cafeteria and all of the patient records were in the basement.
The second I heard that "berp berp berp!" I was like, "Oh, Chicago PD is here." Man, they just let you go? I figured they would charge you with something. But anyways, this building is actually right by me and I was thinking about finding a way in there and wandering around in there. Thank you for doing that for me! Interesting video!
Saibot216 not completely, about 2/3 of the structure is gone. Companies don’t know what they wanna do with the lot so they’re delaying demolition. But when I tried to get back in a year or so ago they seriously cracked down on security and boarded up pretty much every entry spot. Not worth it anyway, with the asbestos and floors/roofs collapsing
Maybe cuz: 1) They parked right in front of the building, where no one normally parks. If you are visiting a business, you would park closer to it (it's easy to find paid parking around there). 2) They parked on a busy street and maybe got out of the car in a suspicious manner, perhaps someone from a nearby business called it in. 3) When my friends and I scoped this out 3 years ago, there were a lot more nosey neighbors than there are in other neighborhoods. We got a lot of weird looks. Again, if they weren't being casual and acting suspiciously, one of the neighbors could have called it in. BTW: We decided not to enter because of the overwhelming musty/moldy stench that can be smelled from across the street. Just walking around the perimeter for 10-15 minutes was causing headaches and nausea.
Kaizer Glick - I moved from around that area but last time I heard the contractors or demalition teams stopped working because they were not being paid. I'll get back to you.
I don't recommend it. All abandoned buildings are a health hazard, but this is worse than most. When my friends and I scoped this out 3 years ago, we decided to abandon our plans to enter because of the overwhelming musty/moldy stench that can be smelled from across the street. Just walking around the perimeter for 10 minutes was causing headaches and nausea. Also, the neighborhood has a lot more nosey neighbors than most other places. So if you do go, to avoid getting caught, act casual and use some tactical stealth. 1) Don't park right in front of the building on Ashland ave (no wonder the cops showed up in this video). Park on one of the side streets and casually sneak in. 2) Perhaps sneak in just before sunrise when most of the nosey neighbors are not awake (however, you may need to park several blocks away since most of the side streets are still permit only, despite the hospital being closed)
Yoooo been trying to go somewhere abondoned but some friends arent into it. I stay on the north side got bud n hella wax im down to go so u dont have to be solo haha FTP

I noticed that, too.
The story behind the hospital is crazy. I was at this hospital alot when it was open and about 2 months before it was closed.

I'm guessing they got better things to do probably had a call about something else since it is Chicago IL
wow! very eerie. that was my go to hospital when i was a kid...lived right off of Rascher. I got my tonsils taken out there.
Interesting. Were you at the children's ward when you had your tonsils removed?
Live right down the st. from there. It is creepy even in daylight. My dog would not want to walk by there.
Carole where this located at?
ashland and Hollywood
i'ts very run down what a shame just be careful every time you enter these places if you decide to continue
I just really want to know how the officer knew which car was yours.

Is this still here? I thought it was knocked down
Kaizer Glick they only knocked down a small portion of it. You can see the part the demolished at the end of the video.
I guess it'l take a while then.. I plan on riding my bike over there this summer so I hope demolition stalls
AbandoNation - they stopped because the workers were not getting paid
Tammy Goulet Schrader wait so how much is left now? That’s awesome!
