I feel like I've taken for granted everything I've owned that's leather. I didn't realize how much time and expertise went into good leather products. Thank you.
This is art. I love seeing these videos because sometimes I take for granted the products I have bought from you guys. I sure hope the fine people you have making theses knows how much respect and appreciation we have for them.
Turning a cow leather into precious bag ; this is why we love saddleback leather goods , amazing effort , brilliant craftsmanship , big hand to this gentleman 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Received mine today: 15” tobacco……WOW! I ordered mine last Monday and got it today, also a Monday…..let me tell you, that was a long week too wait, but now………😁……just superb…..true heirlooms……thanks Dave…..
What a satisfying job, making Saddleback products. They’re making worthwhile, useful objects that are also art, and that are gonna last a long, long time. You can tell the sense of pride that they have in their work.
I own their largest wallet, as a trucker I have a LOT of cards and crap I carry while on the road and it’s the only wallet that carry’s everything I need and I believe it is so well built it’ll live on well after me. Am wanting this case next to hold paperwork and other essential items, their stuff is so well constructed you can bet your life on it and I believe that…its not a lot of money if the item can and will outlast YOU.
Not gonna lie, there’s small imperfections in the bags that I Notice and seeing this video, I just think how if I worked as hard as they do on a bag and someone is pissed that a little strap isn’t quite even or the way the leather might look slightly wrinkled, I’d be ticked that someone is willing to discard the entire bag over something so small. Lot of appreciation for the GF Cases after this video. And I already appreciated them a lot and thought they were beautiful!
We may eventually do an 18" Briefcase, but we have a lot of other designs in the works for the Grandfather Collection. Wait until you see the Backpack Case and Overnight Case.
@@saddlebackleather Man, I really regret not being able to find one of the original 20" hardside briefcases. I've been looking for one for years and I'm worried these smaller ones won't fit everything I need for it to be my daily work carry. Well, 1 vote for a bigger one if you all can do that please! :)
You guys may make good products but the phone case I bought was a miss. There’s just some things synthetic leather does better then real leather and a iPhone case is one of them lol
They were already dead. Luckily, Saddleback buys leather from cows killed for their meat, not their skin -- so they get to live a second life as bags and have all of the gift of their being used instead of being wasted.

All the leather pieces from the Grandfather Collection take forever because of all the hand-stitching. And thank you for watching and the feedback.

This is so soothing. I've watched this so many times LOL
Same here. Soothing is probably the best word to describe it

What’s the white material that they put in it?
Fantastic.

MDF
How big are you going to make these bags (eventually)?

For a professional leather worker, he's not very professional! He's using a steel hammer on steel punches and stitching chisels! ! 🤔😱
