Great design! You may want to use the top of a second bottle as a nose cone, with some modelling clay in it. That would give better aerodynamics and maybe some more stability (although that seems pretty good!). It might be safer launching in a local park too!
If you want you can use 2 trash/garbage bag and combine it together (so it came down slower). And maybe you can add a cane for the nozzle of the rocket (for a better aerodynamic).
Nope! No water even gets in the pump, most of the water stays in the bottle. Also when we started pumping, the water gets pushed back into the bottle anyways.

I wrapped the string around the parachute lightly. It released when it shoots in the air.

I just balanced it on top. A nose cap would have worked nice, but I didn’t try it.

I tried this and the water keeps on leaking even though my cork is snug. And because it’s leaking the rocket doesn’t launch. Any suggestions?
Maybe the hole you drilled in the work is too large.

At least 24 inches in diameter, can vary depending on the size of the bottle.
