"Well then buy me a boa and drive me to Reno, because I am open for Business!"- Queen Emily, First of her name
Lindsay tried so hard to be a good wife. The only one thing Lindsay did wrong was agreeing to marry him at such a young age.
"you can handle your own affairs. sorry, bad choice of words" LMAOOO I love lorelai so much
Luke is the PERFECT example of an ACTOR who helped create a roll. He was cast originally for 5 episodes, and he stood out with his PERSONAL CONNECTION with Lorelai.
I never hated Rory. She is not perfect. She made some bad decisions like any other human being on this planet. But she is not a bad character, just a realistic one.
I agree with you that Rory is not a bad person. But disliking a character and deeming them evil are two different things. Rory annoys me deeply because she has some characteristics that are pet peeves of mine. I started disliking her way before the sleeping with a married man thing and, to be honest, this particular issue had little effect on how I feel about her other than confirming earlier misgivings about entitlement. I was not surprised this happened. That said, she does have a lot of good traits as well and there is plenty to like about her, so I totally see the appeal when someone says they like her. I just, personally, don't.
Emily leaving behind her skirt to prove a point is... my favourite thing in the world. Absolutely top Emily moment!!
Your Dean imitation -- "You know I don't go to bed" -- Oh, my God. So funny.
.... also a spinoff of Emily's adventures in Europe would be a heck of a lot more interesting Emily in Paris!
Always hate when Lorelai and Rory are fighting. Know it's unrealistic to think it would never happen, but it still sucks.
Dang, I want a Lorelai t-shirt now 🔥
You need one 😆 I have the Luke version 😂
Here is where I show my age (and Lorelai's). Squiggy is a reference to Lenny and Squiggy from the 70s TV show Laverne and Shirley. The characters of Lenny and Squiggy would always pop into a scene at the most inopportune moment and say "Hello!" You really have to google Lenny and Squiggy enter a room to get the idea.
ugh this ep KILLED me dean was being annoying and I felt so bad for lindsey (lorelais “affairs” joke was iconic tho)
Love the shirt! I'm a little shocked it's not a Queen Emily shirt 😮
Or King Kirk 😂
"We're a band! We share!" Best Zack line
It's sad that season five is the last truly great one of the show. The writer started to burn out in S6 and then quit so S7 feels quite off. They returned for the A Year in the Life revival, but the result is still strange and bizarre, but it does give a chance to show how the show was always intended to end.
Yea... it's great until mid season 6 then falls off
I feel the revival was kind of a big f you from asp. So many weird things in it that didn't make sense or just seemed way off for the character.
@@socialdgirl011 yea Revival felt to me like it was TRYING to be Gilmore Girls instead of just being Gilmore Girls
It was still way more Gilmore Girls than S7 imo where every piece of dialogue feels wrong
She is Emily in Paris 😂
You definitely don't know how girl's friendships work because Sookie did nothing wrong... of course she's gonna tell Lorelai that's her bestie girl talk is a MUST for this situation! Luke told her not to tell anyone else so it wouldn't be public I doubt he meant Lorelai herself, like I would be mad if my friend had more loyalty to Luke than talking to me about it, c'mon bro you just like to hate Sookie haha
Suki didn’t tell anyone in fact she covered for Lorelei 😅
Also, Lorelei should not be excusing Roris actions
Did she excuse them?
@@HuntingViolets no, but I disagree with trophy saying that she is being to harsh
@@yellowman5942 Oh, okay! Now the puzzle fits together.
Yesssss! My favorite season!
"Only prostitutes have two glasses of wine at lunch" is one of my favorites lines in the show! 😂
Took about a week but I’m finally caught up with your GG reactions 😅 season 5 is my fave, so really looking forward to seeing your thoughts!
53:47 how did i never notice the cigarette vending machine before LOL
Lulu is so cute
Rory literally could not be less suited for a career in journalism. It is competitive and you have to be really persistent and bold with prying information out of people who are stonewalling you. Rory is a timid little creature who would never survive the world of journalism. Paris, on the other hand, would be perfect for it.
Your are in for a wild ride with Rory going forward. Just...keep the expectations low and you should be mostly fine lol. At the least she will annoy you.
On 5X12 and still waiting to hate her😂😂
@@TrophyReacts She's incredibly infuriating, but I don't hate her. She gets knocks off the pedestal the town put her on and she's a lost young adult for awhile. But if you can survive the last few episodes of season 5 and the beginning of season 6, I think it'll be smooth sailing for you... at least as far as Rory goes LOL.
@@TrophyReactsSave the wating 😂 Some people just hold her to a ridiculous standard (that they don't do for other characters) because they're haters. A lot of us love Rory ☺️💗
TEAM LORELAI!!!! ❤
“He loves me” RORY he’s married, could you be more annoying?
Poor Lindsay
I just loved the shirt!!! ❤️✨
And here we Go...
I love the fact that you don’t hate her that much, I don’t like her yes, but hate is too strong of a word😭 and I loved her before this
17:11 I KNOW IM NOT SUPPOSED TO GIVE SPOILERS BUT OH MY GODDDD OH MY GOD OH MY GODDDDD😭😭😭😭😭
im loving your reactions so far it's so funny haha btw i really hope you start the marvelous Mrs maisel after finishing gilmore girls, which is the other great palladinos show and every episode literally looks like a movie is insane and so funny!
This was the moment i hated rory and all her entitlement lol
And it gets worse with the Prince of entitlement….. Logan 🙄
Logan was the college version of Tristan..... Surprised they didn't make that a plot line they were related or something.
@@socialdgirl011 at least Tristan went on to be a somewhat better person in Tree Hill lol Logan is just terrible all around, even in the “A Year in the Life” 🤫
But Lorelai cheating with an engaged Chris or Paris cheating on Jamie with the professor is acceptable? 🤦🏻♀️
@@2029-jo nope those aren’t acceptable either, Like mother like Daughter. Lorelei bugs me at times with the decisions she makes
Justice for Lorelai, finally ❤❤❤
Where she belongs
Everyone gotta say goodbye to me! 🤣🤣
For me, the only season i didnt love was season 7. It was still good, but there are things that happen that I dont like. There is only one storyline in sesaon 6 i dislike but I like it more the more i watch. Season 5 is great. The revival is great too imo. I just love GG lol.
I enjoyed this episode, it was cool to see a direct follow up to the finale last year.
Didn’t Dean get in a fight with Rory about wanting a housewife? He has one and now he’s all pissy about? He had no right to be such a jerk to Lindsey. This isn’t the Dean that we knew in season 1 imo. But I think he was feeling guilty about cheating. And it was sweet to see Lindsey trying with him. It’s too bad he didn’t tell her the truth.
With that said I think it’s obvious that Dean has always loved Rory and still does and WOULD end things with Lindsey for her… but still. It’s just not the right time for them. I think Rory should go to Europe with Emily.
Luke’s voicemails to Lorelai were freaking cute.
I have a hate and love relationship with Season 5. Worse than season 1-4 but definitely better than 6-7. Starts of calm but then the storm comes 😭 does anyone have other opinions?
I dislike Rory greatly, but it's more of a "sum of her parts" thing than just this one instance of her making a terrible, AWFUL choice. Your mileage may vary, but imo, her character continues on a sort of downward trajectory from here on out. I'm very curious to see where you'll weigh in on her more toward the end of the series.
❤❤❤
After this point, to me, Rory lost pretty much all credibility and likeability which made her a character I could no longer root for and then AYINL made me actually hate her. Lorelei makes similar mistakes to be sure, but at the very least, she has some humility and tries to make things right.
Aaahhh we’re going to finally see my rich bae🤭in season 5
i get people’s point about rory not being perfect and being realistic but after she sleeps with dean i just can’t look at her the same. knowingly being “the other woman” is not an imperfection it’s just being a bad person
i’m so excited for logan it’s not even funny (i’m not spoiling he’s already seen the episode :)
Logan is actually great so far
@@TrophyReactsthis is the last time you’ll say that lol
@@TrophyReacts he’s definitely one of my favorites
@@TrophyReactsLogan is the best ❤
@@TrophyReacts I like him.
❤🎉
How many seasons did it take 'til you could properly pronounce 'Lorelai'
I hate Richard so much omg
You just need KING LUKE tier
I would say seasons 1-5 are great/really good, season 6 is good, season 7 is......
something.
Last episode is awesome.
Year in the life D o e s no t e x i s t.
Thank you! Year in the life is so bad I ignore it
Honestly AYITL > S7 for me. I'll take weird over lifeless and Rory's character isn't complete without her AYITL arc
I was so upset with the revival it wasn’t even funny
@@geoffingoff honestly they're on the same level for me.
can't wait for my favorite boy Logan to show up 🥰
I've been watching Gilmore girls every year since I was 8 like since 2007/8 and that's the only time I've seen season 5 in all my countless rewatches since I have stopped at season 4 ALWAYS! I haven't even seen season 7 at all... I don't want anything to ruin the perfect tv show that it was in the earlier seasons.
It was Logan family that made her thinks she not good enough.
I don't get you 😂😂😂 Rory and Dean are disgusting, seeing their faces on screen actually makes me sick after the last ep, how are they "good"? and they both somehow managed to be even more gross throughout this ep. yikes. this was the first time I actually hated Rory.
I mean, we knew it would happen once she actually cheated on Dean when she just felt like kissing Jess, as if her decisions are not her own. but this time? and the way she acts afterwards? and she's meant to be virtues and smart? eww
I love your reactions and take on things lol, I'll just wait and see. but I gotta say when it comes to rory's nature, this was the beginning of the end for me. it just seems like she never actually acts to become better. 🤢 even though she knows she's wrong!!
She’s more book smart, she has little emotional intelligence lol
I don't know whether Rory has ever been perfectly virtuous and smart. The first episode she doesn't want to transfer to a school she's been wanting to transfer to because she met a boy, Dean. She makes a lot of mistakes because Boy. Like at the marathon dance where she acts, I think, terribly. This is understandably disappointing, but I think it was a good episode.
@@HuntingViolets I actually agree. I feel like we weren't presented in her story arcs with too many hard pivotal decisions when it comes to Rory, so we just "put on" her the intentions of her mother (they look, act and are named the same, we are meant to...by the writers so that's understandable). when in fact, when laurelai is presented with tough decisions she doesn't always do the right thing but you feel how "her heart is in the right place" and see her go to fix it, and with Rory, she somehow always chooses the wrong path... as if her moral compass isn't actually there, is just an illusion.
@@El_Ezra_Meitar5 I think Lorelai has been a good mother. Although she claims to be best friends, she is tough when she needs to be. It seems like putting the grandparents back in her life would have been good, but I'm not sure it was, totally. You make an interesting observation, and I'll keep it in mind as we continue through. I was actually a little upset that Lane thought it was so cool and was thinking, Is Rory a bad influence on her, after all?
@@HuntingViolets it bugged me so much, too!! however, I took it as the regular "she is young, dumb and hasn't fully grown up yet". same reasoning could potentially be applied to Rory's case, I guess, but I feel like all along the series we've been fed with the thought that Rory is supernaturally mature, uncomplicated, sweet. Lane at least has always been all over the place and lacking clarity. smart and calculated, sure, but acts out of childish motives. Rory was brought up with honesty and empathy and somehow it feels like she always ignores other people's feelings. I always think of that ep, with her critique of the dancer when Laurelai was shocked of the harsh words she used in actuality at the paper, as if not getting the nuences that the way you laugh with your friends should be different than what you let out to the world, you can hurt people's lives if you don't consider your steps beforhand... it's like she got the "wrong" honesty lesson. missed the compassion and empathy one. Laurelai was of course at fault there as well, Rory is a produce of her after all, but it was a telling moment for her nature for me, cause she did not understand, until the very end of the episode, what was wrong with what she'd done.
