Was written off at 50! Started training in crumbling garage lifting rocks doing pushups on paint cans pullups on beams got ripped af at 53 years old!!!
Got ripped? Almost impossible without those special vitamins..Unless you are part alien. Lol..Most if not all are aided with some type chemical help in this video.. Age is just a number..Why does everyone retire then die?
Awesome vid. Inspires me to train harder at age 76. I have been training for 62 years. I have backed off a little in how hard I train because my joints are wearing out but this makes me hungry again. Thanks for posting. I will save and watch often.
This has to be one of the best videos ever on bodybuilding. To see these legends still committed to this lifestyle is a testament to longevity and good health.
ITs was the best. The balance , size and with aesthetics/symmetry. I was a bit younger than them but trained in the same gyms. From golds to blocks gym they were there. Shawn, Flex, Kevin, Boyer, Lee P, Troy Zuc. , it was amazing. None of this crap in the gyms you see now , no internet, nothing to taint anything. I miss it.
Brilliant video. This was an era not like it and can not be returned, unfortunately. Watching these guys train and compete got me into this sport. Bob Paris, Lee Labrada, and Lee Haney, we're the best, in my opinion
They have not retired - they have evolved, adapting to the changing chapters of life! Their bodies - living proof that the fire within can withstand the test of time 🔥🔥🔥
Thank you too much for this video I was the university champion of the Middle weight 1991 and 1992 I was watching those heroes at that time now I am 53 old I still working out some times I feel lazy but that video was great inspiration for me thanks again
And people wonder what has happened to a lot of young men now a days, sadly it's because a good majority of the men today are bereft of this inner fire, the will to fight to be better than you were yesterday, and even sader a lot of young men were never showed just how resilient and strong they can be,so many of them waste away long before their time.
@@RAIDENMOTIVATION Indeed....He had shoulder surgery a few years ago and the doctors were surprised by how great he looked in his late 80s...He says lifting heavy keeps him young and happy...
I'm glad to see some of these guys from the 70s and 80s still going. I would also prefer to remember them the way they were when I was reading the Weider magazine in high school in the late 70s... Many guys in the magazines seem to be forgotten because they didn't WIN the big contests but were very heroic in overcoming adversity... Guys like Rory Leidelmeyer here never progressed to the pro ranks because he was repeatedly robbed from winning in 2 or 3 key contests...The only real reason to build a physique is for yourself...
I worked out nearly every day from the ages of 17 to approximately 26 years old. Then life stuff happened and I put the gym off for years only working out on occasions here and there. Over the last 8 months, I've been working out routinely and, even though it's only been only 8 months since I've gotten back into it, I have structured my life around so that I can get a half hour or 45-minute workout as many times as I need during the week (I go to the gym 2 - 4 times per week) and expect to do something similar to my current protocol for the rest of my life. I intend to work out until I can't at all so I anticipate lifting into my 80s and 90s. We will see.
Arnold Schwarzenegger through one of his books on bodybuilding inspired me to get into weight training. I was in junior high at the time... I remember asking all types of questions just to gain knowledge of the sport of bodybuilding/weightlifting. Some people were disgusted at my asking so many questions. Come highschool i took weightlifting as a class. Also trial and error over the years has gotten me to where I am now. Im 47 years old...and feel pretty good. Ive got some weight to drop, Thankfully my extra weight is not out of control. Maybe ten or so pounds to start with. Will get me from 239-229 pounds.
Bodybuilders who still have longevity with their physique, probably took the least drugs in the 80's/90's. Labrada , Benfatto .. classic physiques but not exactly mass monsters.
I'll be 69 this year and get mistaken for 52...that seems to be the number I hear when people wonder. I have only been back to bodybuilding for two years. At 5 feet 125-130 lean. I do a lot of pullups of all kinds building my arms and shoulders and of course glutes. I never worked glute specific exercises hahaha. I'm really strong and disciplined. I really should do a photo session...maybe for this birthday.
ANOTHER Video from Raiden that went straight into my playlist but i do wish we would get more stuff with music you used in the first two minutes - like... this shit get me pumped! @RaidenMotivation
can you put names in with these when you do them in case we miss the audio or it is not resent in the audio? fantastic collection. Robbie looks scarier than when he was younger. I remember an awesome add that had Barry and rtonry pearson as Crockett and Tubbs. 80s and 90s was truly awesome for bodybuilding.
I see that some of these men are still in great shape..But I wonder how many are naturally trained and not still on the juice..The juice is the key in most of this video I can assure you...
I’m 77 still training, got into it at 17 . No TRT , just herbs and lots of supplements. Eat clean , train and old age will be the best time of your entire life 🤙
Yes there’s that , processed foods, environment etc. I’ve seen a slow progression of men needing TRT , just go to the TRT for lifters site , unbelievable. At 77 my t level is that of a 20-40 year old , about middle of the road , free t is top range , Train 6 days a week, hike
It's all good, as long as you train until it hurts ! I mean it hurts the next two days after training ! No talking, No standing around, just get to work !
Francis Benfatto was just phenomenal... pure aesthetics.
He would destroy today's classic competitors IMHO.
His muscle bellies are really full too!
My favourite
Benfatto and Bob Paris were my favorite bodybuilders back in the day, Sculpted.
Him and Bob Paris look like twins separated at birth! Labrada also. Shawn Ray is my favorite
These men inspired me when I was a troubled young man to become a bodybuilder and I did, I didn't turn pro but it got me over the mountain, thanks 🙏
As a 63 year old former gym owner (1985-2012), this video was pure FUN! Thank you.
Definitely Francis Benfatto or Lee Labrada is my type of body i want.
When bodybuilding was art.
too bad Francis tore the pec...
FANTASTIC video. I started lifting in 1978, competed in both bodybuilding and powerlifting, and I still lift intensely 3-4 times a week.

Just checked your channel garageman brutal training keep it up grandpa
Started @44. Was 250lbs now 180lbs @44
Good job. I will be 52 soon. Hopefully I will look and be in better shape at 60 than I am now.
Its possible..If you never trained before to make great gains at 50 due to a new stimulus..

Holy shit keep going man! I started at 14 now 34 and seeing this post got me absolutely pumped!

Berry and Lee motivate me every workout after seeing this. Am inspired …
Francis Benfatto is impressive!!! 👍

The editing is so smooth. The music fits perfectly, the message clear and true, the result, inspiring. Well done!

So much for today being a rest day!
just on time.. all time Danny Padilla fan..thank you
Thanks, fantastic video !
I enjoyed watching those 70's/80's bodybuilders growing up.
Benfatto, Labrada n The Chemist were my favorite back in the day.

Great Video! So inspiring. They look Great!
Francis Befatto was one of my favourites not just a mass monster, he had awsome preportions most of the time he was competing!
Always inspires Arnold 💪🏻
Lee labrada shape is insane ❤
Love your videos man, espacially this one, I can see how much work is in there
Ich liebe das Video!!
Albert Beckles was in his mid 50s in 1985 when he came second to Lee Haney in the 1985 Mr. Olympia...He is 93 years old and still trains.😳
Saw him 🔥 He was amazing and still got it! Too bad there are no new videos with him 😢
@@RAIDENMOTIVATION Indeed....He had shoulder surgery a few years ago and the doctors were surprised by how great he looked in his late 80s...He says lifting heavy keeps him young and happy...
No he has passed away in 2022
😢

Incredible. Very profound 👏🏻👏🏻🙏🏻
these all are gem!!!
Francis was as good as Frank Zane, no question. He would wipe the floor with 99% of todays classic physique competitors.
Amazing!!!

Started at 48yrs, in first year lost 46lbs, now 50 and aiming to get on a stage. Maybe 😂. Great video 👍

Robbie Robinson he's the man
Not wanting to put a downer on things but i wonder how many of these older pro bodybuilders are completely natural or are on T.R.T. ??!
It’s the dope !
Francis ,berry ,robby, gary, dexter ,lee, rich, my favorite tom platz. Too many to count and then again there's all the other bodybuilders.
💥It’s quite a disservice to not identify these golden age lifters by name… 🏆💪🏼
🔥🔥
Life is endless, movement is endless
❤
I got the terminator music reference. 👏
do more golden era videos thanks
good
I see francis still has his gear connections!
They were on totally whole different level. And their posing.... amazing
Please upload again the video with the scarface clips from the golden era training motivation
Francis Benfatto and Lee Labrada look amazing. Better than some 20 year olds.
Where is Tony Pearson? He was one of the greats and still looks awesome.
Age us just a number. Let us always be young inside. And kind as a child.
Huge
The black prince,my favourite beside Lee labrada,THE GIANTS KILLER
All that matters is JESUS CHRIST 💪in your heart . Be a Warrior for God
Jesus in your heart, McDonald's in your belly and couch in your ass. Right?
❤❤❤❤
I like the most
...Italian blood run on this veins ✨
Perhaps Benfatto didnt have what it takes to be Mr O. But, dude!!! What a body!!! Like Bob Paris! The kind of body most enthusiastics wanted to have
Ah, the golden era, the best time in bodybuilding ever, unlike the steroid fueled freaks we have nowadays. God bless them all.
Name of the 1st track please
👏💪👍
"AND THIS SHALL WE DO, IF GOD PERMIT"
To me Francis Benfatto is the uncrowned 1990 Mr. Olympia, Labrada could have also won it
age is just a number... juice is forever, boiz!!! reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!
It's all good, as long as you train until it hurts ! I mean it hurts the next two days after training ! No talking, No standing around, just get to work !
