Considering that I've acknowledged The Extended railway series, Albert is a clone of Sir Handel, but with a lighter shade of blue, Jim is a Kerr stuart skylark 0-4-2T & Tim is a GEM Vari kit 0-4-0T.
In my headcannon I went with the Mk2 Albert, making him Falcon's brother. Originally, he was supposed to be the number 3, but due to a builder's error, he didn't arrive until the year after Falcon and Stuart, making him the number 5. As for Jim and Tim, they were custom built 0-6-0Ts built for the Arlesdale Tramway at Arlesburgh in 1885.
@@pizzaplanettruck9761 Well since Stanley was number 2 but arrived after the first world war, it never made sense to me so in my headcannon Stanley arrived almost immediately after or shortly before the war was won in 1919, with Falcon, Stuart, and Albert arriving the year after.
It is a really cool railway, and I’m delighted to see it’s being revived. I just personally don’t f with the design of their Beyer Peacock engines, especially the ones with open cabs
Here's my Albert, Jim, and Tim: Albert: the Snailbeach District Railway's Dennis Jim: Kerr Stuart Skylark Tim: modified BP&C Glyn Valley Tramway engine I did consider making them all based on "Dennis" with Tim having a different firebox, but went with this to give them each a different basis.
In this world there are 3 Alberts on the MSR in Thomas RUclips content. 1 is a Sir Handel with a different shade of blue who is a charming and hard working lad, the 2nd is the same thing but is an arrogant and stubborn little turd who dies in either an accident or being cannibalized for parts just like Godred, and the 3rd is just liked the 2nd one but is Hunslet built Narrow Guage engine and is brought from the MSR to somewhere else without fatality.
Must admit I'm unfamiliar with the Mid Sodor line, either books or layout, but the latter looks a very nice little model. The Peco 'varikit' didn't really have any prototypes as such (Two of their other kits were almost Emett tributes!) but the coal bunkers atop the firebox were referred to, in their old Railway Modeller review as the Clogher Valley 'type'. (And, personally, I like the GVT engines - blame the Board of Trade for their appearance!) I'd have to respectfully disagree with the folk who thought one of the trio looks like a Corpet Louvet; I've built several models of their engines, and they are very characteristically French, while the Awdry model is equally English in looks. There were some very 'interesting' engines, particularly from the smaller French foundries, and one or two of them resembled the Awdry models. Don't forget that, although the foundries had 'standard' designs for small industrial engines, they could and did vary quite a lot in appearance within the same classes, to suit customer's requirements. Some, even were literally one of a kind designs. When Rev Awdry was building this layout OO9 was in its veritable infancy, and the simple fact most of us got it to run was enough, never mind look like a real locomotive!
And yet people speak of thomas in an condescending way, that "it's just a kids show" and "you shouldn't join thomas with railway enthusiasm". this video is a great example that these people are wrong.
This was a really useful video as I have been writing a Mid Sodor project

Um, Falcon arrived in 1904 and Stuart in 1920.

Hope we see more of the narrow gauge hopper and tipper wagons, theyre awesome. 😊
“The rev awdry always made sure his characters were based off real engines”
Percy : “Ahem..”
Oh yeah, i forgot about that 😅
techanlly he doesn't have a "specific" basis.
@@sabertooth3studioshq838
Nah, awdry just gave us a caterpillar on wheels.
That’s his real basis.
Wasn’t Percy implied to be made from secondhand parts anyway? Makes sense they’d come from many disparate sources.
@@lyokianhitchhiker yes, though I thought he was a modified GWR trojent or something?
I think that albert and jim share the same basis and that they are based on snailbeach's dennis, built by bagnall
Same

Ok, who the hell turned the Skarloey theme into an 8-bit Jamaican drum song, cause it slapps real well!😂
That would be the work of Ryan Rocketz on SoundCloud :) on.soundcloud.com/zxh4udsXgbHHjxNT6

3:12 what type of wagons is this locomotive pulling??
They look like cattle trucks.

Are the any narrow gauge locomotives from around the world 🌎 that could be made into original characters?
I think india has some narrow gauge railways. Or germany?
@@cec_oregon sounds good 👍
Maybe they were simply custom builds built by the Mid Sodor themselves or even the Arlesdale Tramway before depending if they were around for it?
I headcanon Albert to be a Corpet-Louvet 0-6-0T for fun
Will you do a video of Gerry and John basis
Maybe one day, but the only trouble is their basises have kinda been confirmed 😅
@anonymousthomasfan1111 Well, Gerry might be based on Doll a Andrew bakery and John looks like engines that were made by Bagnoal
Make Second One
3:22 Are these cattle wagons?
@anonymousthomasfan1111
No idea 🤷 I think they’re likely some sort of military wagons if anything
i like albert being corpet-louvet. french engines
